Was in town on a last minute trip. had the night open so went to Hana Zen. Never again.Sat at the Sushi bar, it was like they had no clue what the protocol was, I've spent time in Japan and all over Asia and enjoyed the best Sushi in the US, this was quite simply terrible. Sushi Chef made me... More

It's ok, not as I expected though. The food was ok but there are other better sushi restaurants around. The menu is limited, the service is good and the price is reasonable.

Very good happy hour, $4.00 wine and $3. Draft beer. Had the gyoza, crunchy California roll, spicy tuna and California roll, each entree was $4.00 during happy hour. Very tasty and filling. Staff were very nice , will go again

Very Average Sushi and Maki options. Price was a little high for the quality of the suhi. Great agedashi tofu though.

Forget the food, which was quite OK. The traumatic experience was that, about 4 ft apart from our table, there was a big plastic box where dirty dishes were loudly dropped before being collected and brought to the back. See pic attached. To complete the experience, an awful smell of chlorine was coming from the back of the restaurant. The... More

We chose this restaurant while walking near the Hilton SF. The service was very good as well as the quality of the food. I could go back again without hesitation.

We have just finished dinner here. Really very good. Excellent in fact. Bacon wrapped salmon yakitori was a revelation! Salmon nigiri fresh, smooth & almost 'buttery', bed teriyaki good but veggies a bit cold. Overall though a great place with tasty food & generous serves of wine!

Excellent portion sizes for sushi with good taste. Fellow co-workers ordered other items off menu including lava rock meals and all prepared to perfection. Dessert was fair but think we over indulged in our main course. View of Alcatraz and Golden Great Bridge excellent. Great service.

Have been here a couple of times and enjoyed. Once sat at the sushi bar and once at a table. Service is very good and typical of Japanese restaurants. I particularly like the yakitori here. Very well prepared. The sushi was also very good. Properly prepared though the slices of fish on the sushi were on the small side. Pricey... More

Came here for the first time and it was good had the lemon-hi cocktail and chirashi sushi which was pretty good and fresh. Had the ginger creme brulee as well The yakitori was on the menu but they didn't have it that day. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary.
