I went here for lunch. The service and food were ok. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer - the place needs a good scrubbing. Not what you would expect in a Japanese restaurant.

THIS PLACE SUCKS! Our experience began with a very rude hostess. She had a bad attitude and was not welcoming at all. While we were waiting for our table I casually strolled over to the bar to see their selection of Sake which was nicely displayed. The hostess had a giant fit of rage over that, she was complaining and... More

Was in town on a last minute trip. had the night open so went to Hana Zen. Never again.Sat at the Sushi bar, it was like they had no clue what the protocol was, I've spent time in Japan and all over Asia and enjoyed the best Sushi in the US, this was quite simply terrible. Sushi Chef made me... More

It's ok, not as I expected though. The food was ok but there are other better sushi restaurants around. The menu is limited, the service is good and the price is reasonable.

Very good happy hour, $4.00 wine and $3. Draft beer. Had the gyoza, crunchy California roll, spicy tuna and California roll, each entree was $4.00 during happy hour. Very tasty and filling. Staff were very nice , will go again

Very Average Sushi and Maki options. Price was a little high for the quality of the suhi. Great agedashi tofu though.

Forget the food, which was quite OK. The traumatic experience was that, about 4 ft apart from our table, there was a big plastic box where dirty dishes were loudly dropped before being collected and brought to the back. See pic attached. To complete the experience, an awful smell of chlorine was coming from the back of the restaurant. The... More

We chose this restaurant while walking near the Hilton SF. The service was very good as well as the quality of the food. I could go back again without hesitation.

We have just finished dinner here. Really very good. Excellent in fact. Bacon wrapped salmon yakitori was a revelation! Salmon nigiri fresh, smooth & almost 'buttery', bed teriyaki good but veggies a bit cold. Overall though a great place with tasty food & generous serves of wine!
