It Fit the Bill

By San Francisco standards this is an "ok" restaurant. Valencia is a hoppin' area so that adds to its allure. We started with the Brussel Sprouts( btw, who saved this poor vegetable. What an amazing comeback!) and the spicy green beans. Very good. I went with the Squid special that was so so. I... read more

Walking to Noe to look at real estate, we took a detour up Valencia to visit Borderlands bookstore. Suddenly hungry, we dropped into Luna Park for a late lunch. The people are very nice, but the food isn't too good. Bread and buns were borderline stale; French toast was not cooked all the way through (ack - I hate that).... More

The restaurant will be closing for good soon. In the past we had good brunches and lunches here since we live just around the corner. The food was not as good as in the past and this may be because it is closing soon. On an earlier visit, I had a popover brunch with 3 different fillings - one of... More

I just don't like paying $15 for a hamburger. I feel like Vincent in Pulp Fiction questioning the $5 milkshake (which seems like a bargain now). So I got a burger (didn't like the bun) with fries. Sat outside, it was nice. Service was good, and they put grilled jalepenos on at no charge. They don't serve alcohol outside, so... More

My partner and I came in for a snack and we noticed they had "two appetizers for $10" between 16:00-18:30 every Tuesday and Wednesday (also two for one cocktails). The food was incredible and huge portions. We ordered the Thai Style Brussels Sprouts and Moules Frites (Mussels and Fries). Probably the best meal I've had in the USA so far.... More

Casual Californian food and wine. Really tasty plates and a nice atmosphere! I like sitting in the booths when I visit.

Popped in for lunch when walking around San Fran. I just got a salad, but it was delicious and a great price. Service was good, especially when I started to have a personal crisis in the middle of the bar. I'm not sure of the bartender's name, but he was great at getting me to calm down and make me... More

My friend and I ate lunch today at Luna Park. I'd had some trepidation because of some negative reviews, but my fears were totally unfounded. Yes, we were there on a Monday, so the restaurant was not at all crowded. The music was quite loud when we arrived, but the staff graciously turned down the volume to a very acceptable... More

We decided to go to Luna Park because my daughter had seen their s'mores features on Food Network's "Best Thing I ever Ate". Unfortunately, we went for Sunday brunch, and the s'mores aren't offered in that menu. BUT, it wasn't a total loss because, guess what, all their food is delicious and the funky decor is fun. We started off... More

Earlier today, my fiancée and I visited Luna Park for their happy hour offers. The food was good and the service was friendly. Everything was fine until we received our bill. The place had added tax to the normal price of our meal, not the happy hour price. As such, we had to pay tax of 80 USD in stead... More

Staying in Mission District

Neighborhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighborhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country.
