Excellent dishes

A client favorite (especially for those from out of town). Small bamboo steamers or dishes are carted or carried between tables for selection. Can't go wrong - it's all delicious. Start with a pot of fragrant jasmine tea. Must tries: - Shanghai dumplings (though unlike Hong Kong Lounge 2, the... read more

This restaurant certainly offers a good selection of dim sum but the service is so fast you get the feeling of being rushed to eat and leave as soon as possible to make room for other guests. The food is good but not outstanding...and the bill is quite exaggerated.

My wife and I visited this wonderful restaurant for a Sunday morning dim sum. In short, outstanding!!! Can't wait to visit again. We recommended it to friends and they also had a superb time. The best!

This is a dimsum restaurant with two branches both in the business district, close to the Ferry Building and convenient to the convention center. Traditional carts full of interesting looking dishes circulate with a good frequency. Some dishes were excellent (a salad of walnuts and greens with a perfect dressing stood out), while others just mediocre: dumplings with thick rice... More

My husband and I were on vacation in SF, and we dined here on Christmas day, primarily because we could book in advance. Unfortunately we were so disappointed. I'm a regular dim sum eater, so I know what to expect. We seemed to be in a blind spot for the cart-servers. The table next to us was being visited regularly... More

Four of us reserved a table on a busy day and were seated promptly after we arrived. Several varieties of steamed dumplings were good but the crispy ones, particularly the spring rolls, were very greasy and almost inedible. Typical dim sum service with carts wheeled around the room by servers. Nicer and more elegant setting than most dim sum restaurants... More

Very, very good dim sum. Very crowded and expensive (78 total for two people), but there's a reason. The jasmine tea also very good. The pork and shrimp dumplings were excellent, also very good the spicy and soy sauces. Service very fast, professional but also very friendly and warm. Recommended!

It was a very cold and wet December Sunday and we were visiting SF from Utah. We had tried this location of Yank Sing about 6 years ago, which was the first time we visited the restaurant. Our previous visit was with a group of 8, so we had a large corner of the restaurant to ourselves and it was... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
