I read the reviews and did not know what to expect. I visited Yank Sing for a Saturday brunch. I was grateful to have got there early as by noon the place was packed. I found it an amusing experience as I had barely sat down when one of the waitresses arrived with a trolley of dim sum. Basically, there... More

I love dim sum and have eaten it many times. Most of the dim sum we ate at Yank Sing was quite good, but it was literally double the price of other excellent dim sum restaurants. Perhaps it is the location in San Francisco that enables them to jack up the prices, but I was quite shocked when the bill... More

I'd been to Yank Sing many years ago and was looking forward to a return visit during our family Spring Break trip to San Francisco. The carts came along very quickly, it would have been nice to have a little more time to enjoy the different dishes. Nonetheless, the food was good and fresh. However, I was shocked by the... More

I like to think of myself as a bit of a Yum Cha/Dim Sum connoisseur. Any city I visit, if they have a Yum Cha culture, I'll be sure to sample some of the recommended joints for brunch. I'd seen the reviews for Yank Sing and had had personal referrals from colleagues. So I was super excited to be visiting... More

As always when in San Francisco I like to go to my favorite dim sum restaurant Yank Sing! Have been going there for many years when I worked in the Financial District. The service was excellent, the food was exquisite.

We didn't have time to sit and eat so actually used their take out counter. This is the very first time I have had pork in a Chinese restaurant that I actually liked. Can't wait to go back to get the full experience. Food was excellent.

Dim sum for me is a raucous breakfast event with carts rolling around large dining halls. This small restaurant obviously caters to a rarefied crowd. The dim sum is without a question very good and some excellent but really- a few slivers of duck on a bun for $10.50.The same meal that cost $64.usually costs under $ 25.Cost aside the restaurant is... Cool back alley location; not a bargain but you get what you pay for. I always ask for the sweet potato wrapped sea bass and don't leave until they serve the peking duck bun. Best shanghai dumplings ever (sorry Mr. Phan). They maintain just the right "dim sum eatery brusque" and gracious restaurant balance. Yank Sing is the best part... More

This remains one of my favourite Dim Sum restaurants in the world. A must visit for anyone arriving in the city. The quality and variety of the Dim Sum is unrivalled. The service is impressive. A great way to spend any lunch hour. Shame they don't have an outpost in Edinburgh!
