Every time that I am in San Francisco I make a reservation at Yank Sing on Stevenson Street. I was introduced to their wonderful Dim Sum service at a luncheon meeting several years ago . We then raced down Market Street to get the best table and ever since we have done the same thing. But I must point out,... More

We all liked our experience there. Authentic and the Shanghai Dumpling was a pleasure to try. The dishes were appealing to the eye and splendid to enjoy eating. Everyone was welcoming too, that is a plus!

I was visiting a friend in San Francisco and we decided at the last minute to try Dim Sum and heard Yank Sing was great. The only reservation we could get was 11am on so we took it. We arrived a few minutes early and found a few other people waiting, the doors locked, but lots of activity inside. The... More

We had a 10AM reservation on a Saturday for our party of 8. Seated promptly and the server started bringing by carts. Mind you this was not a cheap meal, but when will you be having Dim Sum in SF again??? Everything was delicious. If we are ever in San Fran again, this place will be the top of my... More

Yes, we had a reservation. Yes, we had to wait, but not for long. Folks without reservations waited for an hour…. Busy, noisy, festive. The carts kept coming by, special requests accommodated. The Shanghai dumplings are the best! And then all the other goodies we tried. Shrimp and shumai, and you name it. Extraordinary. I will not go back to... More

GET a reservation...even for lunch. Seems crazy but we were so glad we did. We did dine on new years' eve day and the first available for lunch was 1:45. Really glad we kept it. Everything was fresh, the carts were well stocked with piles of dim sum, and they had a menu too that you could request special things... More

If not the best dim sum, among the best dim sum that I have ever had. It's more nicely appointed than most other dim sum restaurants. A reservation is a must. Dim sum is inherently chaotic and isn't a typical restaurant experience. Concentrate on the food itself! The soup dumplings are among the best ever- delicate wrappers, fragrant complex broth.... Understandably going on Christmas day for Chinese food is going to be extremely crowded. That was an understatement and unfortunately the restaurant was understaffed with waiters and cooks. Although the dim sum itself was quite delicious, the selection was extremely limited, the wait between selections were extremely lengthy, and overall it ended up being a pretty poor and very expensive... If you like traditional dim sum, you'll love Yank Sing. I only go to the Stevenson Street location. They push the trolleys through the restaurant offering steaming baskets of goodies. You can't go wrong with whatever you pick! The tea, dim sum, vegetables, desserts, everything is top notch. Super busy on weekends and peak lunch hours during the week. The... More
