Yummy!

This review is overdue, but my kids still talk about the place (we live in Southern California) I decided to finally put in a review. The food is really tasty, but pricey. We ate hear last weekend, and the dumplings were outstanding. We love dim sum, have had it all over--Hawaii, Los Angeles, New York, DC, Hong Kong, Philadelphia--and this was exquisite. The dumplings in the basket were among the best we have ever had: the skins were thin, the meat, flavorful, and the sauce, vinegar, and ginger were the perfect accompaniment.... More

The food is excellent and the carts just keep on coming. We had the dumplings, shumai, chicken feet, ribs, and a few other things I cannot remember. Make sure to go slow and be picky otherwise you'll fill up way too quick.

Dimsum is one of my favorite things. I eat it all the time. Back in the day I used to eat at the Yank, but never again. It's has essentially become a way overpriced tourist trap. The food is bland and greasy, the sauces are thin and way too sweet, and you can get Bette dim sum at a Chinatown... More

Almost the best dim sum in San Francisco. I still think City View has slightly better food. However, Yank Sing continues to get great reviews. The stevenson street location needs to be remodeled. If you do not mind the old dated interior, then get ready for some great food. Come early (11:15) or plan on a long wait in a... More

This is a popular place and rightly so as the food is fresh, tasty and well presented. However, the service is not so good. Long waits, a cramped foyer, pushy servers and too many tables in too small a space, detract from the experience, though conversely the latter means the atmosphere is certainly lively. Some of the dishes are well-overpriced... More

We could tell by previous reviews that to avoid waiting we should book, so we booked online for a lunch here. When we arrived, there was a huge crowd of people outside waiting for a table and we were able to walk straight in. This place reminded me of dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong with it's trolley service as... More

Every time that I am in San Francisco I make a reservation at Yank Sing on Stevenson Street. I was introduced to their wonderful Dim Sum service at a luncheon meeting several years ago . We then raced down Market Street to get the best table and ever since we have done the same thing. But I must point out,... More

We all liked our experience there. Authentic and the Shanghai Dumpling was a pleasure to try. The dishes were appealing to the eye and splendid to enjoy eating. Everyone was welcoming too, that is a plus!

I was visiting a friend in San Francisco and we decided at the last minute to try Dim Sum and heard Yank Sing was great. The only reservation we could get was 11am on so we took it. We arrived a few minutes early and found a few other people waiting, the doors locked, but lots of activity inside. The... More
