Try Dim Sum!

First off, we regularly go for dimsum. It was our first time at this restaurant. We found the menu a bit limited but if it's your first time having dimsum that might be a good thing. They also walk by with carts which is a nice touch. We weren't particularly impressed with the dishes, and we ordered plenty, but they... More

Well prepared food, nice choices, child friendly. When crowded, tables extend into lobby of building. Takes reservations which is helpful on busy weekends.

My husband and I had been here on several trips before, but this time was our last. The prices are high. It was $90 for lunch with no alcohol. I drink soda and they charged for each individual soda (nobody does that any more). We asked for Schezuan chicken (no idea how to spell that) which was on the menu.... More

If you're in town, this is a must for lunch. They're only open for lunch, but it is worth it. Service was very impressive, as you no more than sit down and they're bringing food to you. Having had Din Tai Fung in the past, this is very close and comparable to the level of food you will receive. Some... More

Refined dim sum is the best description of the fare here. Service is excellent, even to the point of providing black napkins to those in dark suits. Delicious food, nothing to complain about in any area!

Went to Yank Sing on a Thursday lunchtime for a business lunch and it was busy as usual. We were seated quickly and efficiently, though it would make sense to book in advance. The food was great, a really delicious selection of dim sum served from carts, so making selections is easy and quick! A great meal and good service!

Yank Sing is a very well known, busy dim sum restaurant in San Francisco. We went to the Stevenson location, which is just a block or so off of Market Street in the Financial District (the Montgomery Bart station is easy walking – I would not want to try to park around the area!). Stevenson is kind of an alley-like... More

I have eaten a lot of dimsum in Hong Kong and Vancouver BC.. The only reason I decided to go here, was because it was conveniently located downtown and I was not sure how good the places were in Chinatown. I read reviews on this site and thought, ok, doesn't sound too bad. I was wrong. Here's the truth: The... More

Sometimes dim sum places can be a little too authentic and delve into meats not typically eaten by the average American. Not the case at Yank Sing. Its very clean and upscale. The all asian staff is difficult to understand but helpful nonetheless. Its the best dim sum in San Francisco. Don't look further than Yank Sing for dim sum.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
