Description: Daily Grill is located on Geary, near Powell, only a half-block from Union Square and in the center of San Francisco’s theatre district. Comfortable and clubby with booths and high ceilings, Daily Grill is a great place to take a break from the bustle of Union Square. The large menu and comfortable decor makes the Daily Grill a favorite stop before or after the theatre. Daily Grill is an updated version of the San Francisco grills of the past, providing generous portions of classic American dishes, such as steaks, chops, chicken pot pie, and meat loaf...a neat, friendly place where one can get crab cakes or a burger, Shrimp Louie or a T-Bone, along with martinis, single malts, microbrews and a good bottle of wine. The ambience is lively and clubby, with comfortable booths, dark woods and high ceilings.

What used to be one of my favorites, has really slipped since my last visit. The quality of the food in particular, but also the service. How disappointing that one of the places you could count on for a solid, traditional meal, is not what it once was. My healthy breakfast, and I chose this particular visit after an early... More

We were staying at the hotel adjacent to this restaurant and were impressed with the breakfast that we decided to eat there. Also limited other restaurants in the area so choose this one. Food was lovely, great steak. Good sized portions. Desserts were Devine ! And reasonably priced! Staff attentive. Overall one of the best meals we had during our... More

A great place for breakfast lunch or an evening meal convenient to union square. Great food and service. If busy in the evening a bar meal is a good alternative.

We stayed in a hotel in the Union Square neighborhood and ate here one evening. The food was very good! Crab cake and filet mignon were both excellent and we would recommend them. For a family, this place is a little expensive, but the food is worth the price. The waitress was excellent which made the dining experience really nice... More

This was just a last minute choice. There was a bit of a wait - although not as long as expected. The menu is quite large, but we knew we wanted steak. The restaurant smelt amazing as soon as we walked in. The steaks were amazing! very good size, excellent prices, and came with a large portion of veg as... More

If you can’t find a place to eat near Union Square and enjoy truck stop dining, then the DAILY GRILL is for you. Desperate for a place to eat on a busy Sunday evening, the only place I discovered without a wait was the Daily Grill – lucky me! Not being allowed to eat red meat while at home, traveling... More

Our first night we arrived late in San Francisco, and many of the restaurants were closed; however, the Daily Grill in Union Square was open but had a 20 minute wait so we found an open table in the bar. The bar has full menu service. The meals are large portions so if you are a light eater it would... More

The Daily Grill was the best restaurant we went to in San Francisco. On our first day in San Fran we dined here for lunch. Right away we were seated and given the menus (the menu was so large and diverse they had everything from bacon burgers to penne pesto) At first we thought it was very expensive but throughout... Went here twice for lunch while with colleagues on a business trip. Nice bar feel in the front of the house where we ate. Lunch was fresh and fast; I had the cobb salad and the chicken burger and both were very good. My companion had the ahi tuna wrap twice because he enjoyed it so much the first time.... More
