Description: Daily Grill is located on Geary, near Powell, only a half-block from Union Square and in the center of San Francisco’s theatre district. Comfortable and clubby with booths and high ceilings, Daily Grill is a great place to take a break from the bustle of Union Square. The large menu and comfortable decor makes the Daily Grill a favorite stop before or after the theatre. Daily Grill is an updated version of the San Francisco grills of the past, providing generous portions of classic American dishes, such as steaks, chops, chicken pot pie, and meat loaf...a neat, friendly place where one can get crab cakes or a burger, Shrimp Louie or a T-Bone, along with martinis, single malts, microbrews and a good bottle of wine. The ambience is lively and clubby, with comfortable booths, dark woods and high ceilings.

A nice supper club atmosphere with a good all around menu. 600 calorie or less selection was a useful bonus. Turkey avocado club with fruit was a tasty choice in this section. The ahi wrap with peanut slaw was a big hit. Complimentary sour dough was delicious. Server was ok, nothing special, but adequate. Would definitely return for a relaxing... More

Dined here last evening and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! A few steps from Union Square we stumbled on this gem. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated. The welcome was warm even though we had a short wait for a table,(always a good sign, if a little frustrating!!!). The menu was varied and the food was very tasty. Overall enjoyable and... More

It was busy, but we sat at the bar and were treated like royalty. We had wine and beer and watched the baseball games. Fun!

We recently used the Daily Grill whilst we stayed at the Handlery Hotel which the restaurant is attached to. We were fortunate as our room rate included breakfast there. Although we enjoyed the food and coffee that we did have there which were the American and Good Start breakfasts. We did sometimes have a side order which we understood was... More

Maybe it was just a tough night in the kitchen but unfortunately that's how it goes. The good parts of the food was the bread and the salads. There's nothing like nice fresh warm bread and the bread was very fresh and warm. The salads were sizable and the dressing very good. Our server also gets big points for great... More

After a long day in San Fran there's nothing like finding a place that serves good old comfort food with a smile. We had a shrimp appetizer with was done perfectly. The shrimp were tender and jucy with lots of flavor. We moved on to the main course. I had the and my buddy had the chicken pot pie. Let... More

We had breakfast here every morning whilst we were staying in San Francisco. Terrific eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, potatoes, waffles, toast, granola and an array of fruit. Yum.

We had an excellent server, very attentive and willing to bring us whatever we wanted/needed, and even brought us condiments without having to ask. Cons: The food was not good, in fact, I had to smother my ahi tuna in dressing and sauce in order to finish it. The fish and chips were also horrible. There was not much fish... More
