Excellent authentic Japanese food

We had the sashimi and a California roll plate here and the food was amazing. Very good portions and very fresh. I tried the warm sake which was yummy and nice to go along with the food. Definitely worth the wait. Service was efficient and we didn't wait long for our food once at our table.

Fresh excellent sushi! Had a hard time ordering as no one spoke English (Japanese only). But it was fresh, and yummy. The restaurant was downstairs, lively, small, and crowded, but super good. Our concierge recommended Ryoko's and we are glad we did. Yum!

Looking for some good sushi around town, we were close by Ryoko's and decided to give it a try. Right off the bat there was a 20 minute wait, which excited me, so we signed up and put our name on the list. Some time later, felt less then 20, we got seated in the back with a table for... More

This place is so fantastic. The rolls are yummy and the seafood fresh. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a Japanese fix.

So to start... Im from West L.A. and came out to San Francisco to experience some San Fran food! The concierge at the hotel I'm staying at (whom by the way was really cool) recommended this and a Thai food place for dinner. I am a huge sushi fan and I'm sure me writing this review makes it obvious which... More

The foodiest person I know recommended Ryoko, so of course I had to try it on the first night in town. I was recently in Japan and had the best sushi of my life in Kyoto and have avoided American sushi since my return. Ryoko, while not quite up to my very favorite Kyoto sushi bar, was far closer to... We noticed lines out the door on several occasions so we decided to try this restaurant. We were pleased with the freshness, taste and beautiful presentation of the food, but having visited Japan we were hoping for a more authentically Japanese atmosphere and menu. If you look carefully you will find traditional items like burdock root and Japanese pickle. The... More

The space is tight but worth rubbing elbows with the complete stranger sitting close. The price is the best in town considering this place is fantastic! The portions are a bit smaller than other places. But, considering the great prices, I think the smaller portions are perfect so one is encouraged to try just one more! We had the Pokemon... More

Of all the sushi restaurants we have eaten in across the country, this rates as one of the best. We did not have a bad bite of food, period. Everything was incredibly fresh, from the rice to every slice of fish. The wait staff were all friendly, attentive and helpful, as were the chefs (we sat at the bar). From... More

Dining out for sushi in San Francisco is sort of like being on the starship Enterprise -- let’s see what’s out there. Arguably the best selection of sushi restaurants in the US that are affordable are in the city. Not that Ryoko is a place to go on a budget, especially when paying for your twenty three year old, sushi... More
