Henry's was the go-to Hunan restaurant in SF for scaredy-cat non native Chinese people (you know, all you "Guailo!) Since the early 90s, though, lots of competition has popped up. That said though, Henrys still offers good food at reasonable prices in a "nice-enough" setting. Not gonna knock your socks off, but will still be good.

I love this place. I was in SF for a week and visited Henry's twice, once for lunch, and once for dinner. Both times I ordered Henry's Special (#33). It has chicken, shrimp, scallops, some veggies, a few peppers, and a sauce to die for. They can make it mild, medium, hot or somewhere in between the three. You have... More

We walked by here on our first night in San Fran and decided to pop in. The food was delicious, very fresh and no MSG which was great. We had the Kung Poa Chicken which was lovely and had just enough spice. Very reasonably priced as well.

Love the kung pao chicken specials on Monday. Food very good, I like the spicy. Close to financial district, easy walk. Excellent value.

I'm scratching my head at this place, especially given the reviews. After hearing that this is the 'best Chinese' from 2 coworkers, I decided to have a business lunch there. I went through the back and it's definitely much bigger than I thought given the unassuming storefront, which turned out to be storeback. I had moo shoo pork and my... More

We ate in Chinatown, but this was by far better service and better food. tons of food leftover for lunch next day. ice quiet environment compared to chaos in Chinatown. Henry's special was great!

We were sent there as a recommendation of our seminar hosts. We walked in thinking "of all 3,675 restaurants in San Francisco, THIS is where they'd send us"? We were NOT disappointed. We shared 7 entrees on our spinning table. Each one was excellent and very reasonable. I would return and recommend to anyone!

Excellent Chinese food. This restaurant is always crowded, but the staff are great about finding you a table somewhere in the large restaurant. This is not a fancy place but they serve copious quantities of great Chinese food. Order it as spicy as you like. Green beans and prawns were great, and green beans were crispy. Orange chicken and mixed... More

The only thing that gets to me about this place is an order of fried rice costs $9.50. Really? Ok. Other than that, great food. Better for takeout as the restaurant is not that fancy for sitdown.

The Natoma location is my favorite in terms of decor and the food is good at all locations but my favorite location is the Sacramento Street hole in the wall. Linda is always friendly and remembers her regulars. I love the Meat Pie, it is unlike any other Chinese dish I've ever tried and the Henry's Special is my favorite... More
