Nice local Italian

I ate at Uncle Vito's twice. The first time, I had the pizza and it was quite good. Cheesy, good crust and good sauce. Cold beer on tap and the cost of 2 beers and a small pizza was reasonable for San Francisco ($20). The second time was a Caesar salad and fried ravioli with marina sauce, pretty... read more

This would be our 'go to' restaurant if we lived closer. A little gem in a city of gems ... don't miss it if you happen to see it. Right at the cable car stop, so no excuses! We were there for dinner one night and a lunch a few days later. Just excellent and so reasonable. Waitstaff was friendly... More

I'm from Long Island where there is excellent pizza. I've sampled w number of San Francisco pizza places and so far this is the best. They have unique options. Fast turn around. And even their mundane menu options are good. Generous portions too. If you eat in the restaurant just know it's not extravagant. They have tables in a room... More

Conveniently located close to our hotel. Went for a late dinner. My husband and I were a little weary because it didn't look very busy. However, when we walked inside we saw that every table was full. The pizza is fantastic. Service was a little slow but well worth it. We hoped to go back before we left but just... More

We were recommended by locals to eat here and were not disappointed ! Large portions, extremely reasonably priced, excellent food ! However dark restaurant, surly waitress, she was determined the house wine was sweet ! Too sweet for me !! Didn't even offer to let me taste any ... Very curt with us at our table, as if we had... Good menu, excellent pizza, large portions with side salad thrown into pasta orders. Friendly staff - great for jet lagged Europeans as it's no hassle and easy going.

We stopped here because it was close to our hotel. The wait for a to-go order was long, so I chatted up some people. One lady travels to San Francisco once a month on business. She said she always gets food here. Our calzone was quite tasty. I would recommend it for people to try.

This place was recommended by a friend and we enjoyed our pizza. We shared a medium bianco pizza which came hot, thinner crust (but not too thin) and lots of cheese and no tomato sauce. We relly enjoyed it and the fast service.

I was hiking up Powell St to Fishermen's Wharf one morning and I saw these guys making pizza through the window (the kitchen is right on a corner block). I wasn't even hungry but the fresh pizzas going into the oven made my mouth water. And that's when I decided what I was going to have for dinner. Come 8... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
