We had breakfast yesterday, a Thursday. Previous reviews are correct - it is in a seedy bit of town and there is a wait - but it is worth it. We would go again. Lovely food and great service. Be careful not to over eat! Pancakes lovely and pecan cinnamon roll was extra special.

Long wait in line but well worth the trouble. Funky old atmosphere, lots of dark wood, weird décor... nice bar... GREAT FOOD... a truly unique menu and you want to try everything... Huge portions... great staff .. this was more than breakfast it was a true San Francisco experience!

This was my second visit to Dottie's and it did not disappoint! First, the cons; it is in a totally skeevy part of town and no matter when you go there is a long wait. But if you can handle those two drawbacks then you HAVE to go! We all ordered our own meals but shared everything. We had bacon,... More

This is a very small restaurant in a seedy area of San Fran. We had to wait for an hour and 20 minutes to get seated...but HOLY MOLY. What a MEAL! Dotties is popular for a reason, and you better bet its the food. Tried the home made corn bread with pepper jelly and the bison sausage. Two of the... More

Read about Dottie's on Trip Advisor, glad I did! We ended up going TWICE! First we had the special frittata with avocado, jalapeño peppers, bacon & onion....DELICIOUS! Came back for the banana & raspberry pancakes...YUMMY!! A definite place to have breakfast.

We arrived very early (7:45am on a Friday), and were the first to wait for a table, maybe ten minutes. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching chef and his guys work the orders. It took awhile for our food to be ready, but we didn't mind--the coffee refills were generous and the vibe was very friendly. The food?... More

We got there around 9 and the line consisted of around 10 people, got a table at 9.30, not too bad and definitely worth the wait. Had oatmeal with figs, raisins and fresh fruit and it was amazing.

The wait was tremendous (2 Hours on a Sunday) but so worth it! I ordered from the chalkboard menu for the days specials- the wild boar sausage was so delicious! Even more than the food the 1920's vibe was something to be experienced.

Anyplace that has a queue for breakfast on a weekend is generally good - but on a Monday too? Wow. And, it delivered - we went back again for more! Food and service super. There's a sweet and a savoury specials board, as well as an extensive standard breakfast menu - with more expected items. Standard does not belittle the... More

Waiting in line for breakfast? Worth it, but unccessary. Change your policy to better accommodate those of us who can't do that. Would love to bring my octogenarian dad but for this issue. Food was excellent. Loved the sweet potato gruyere tart with a couple of eggs and some fruit. The entire menu appears to be scrumptious. Baked goods for... More
