This establishment isn't in the nicest part of town, but it is definitely worth visiting! The food is amazing! We ate here twice on our 5 day vacation. Their grilled chili-cheddar corn bread with jalapeno jelly is delicious. We also enjoyed their blueberry cornmeal pancakes, the pulled pork scramble, and Dottie's famous pancakes. There isn't a lot of seating, so... More

I read about Dottie's here in Tripadvisor and went there in September 2014. The food is fantastic and everybody should go there for a breakfast or brunch. We waited about half an hour on a Sunday but it is worth it. Excelent.

Perfect San Francisco breakfast! The fennel sausage scrambler with the cornbread and coffee was delicious! Portions are huge so split a meal and give a big tio. Service - great. Atmosphere - neat old building with interior character and interest. Sit at the community table and strike up a conversation with a friendly local or tourist and you will triple... More

My husband and I strolled towards Dottie's (which has very poor signage in a shady part of the city making it next to impossible to find). We went in a little late, because we had so much fun the night before and ended up staying late till about 1am (yes that's late for us). We waited, Id say about an... More

We arrived at DTBC around 9:10 am and there was a line formed around the corner. We waited 35 minutes to be seated. Once seated it took our server about 10 minutes to take our order. He was not as forthcoming with suggestions as the other server was but we finally decided on food. I had the spinach, mushroom and... More

Yes, there is a line, but the experience is worth it. The food is amazing (though large portioned) and the waiters are all extremely helpful. Even the decorations are cute. And you get served fairly quickly once you get seated.

A tour guide we met whilst in San Francisco recommended this place for breakfast so we thought we'd try it out. He was bang on with the recommendation. We loved the place! It had really great decor inside and a fantastic atmosphere. My girlfriend ordered some kind of egg breakfast with hash browns and bacon and I went for eggs... More

Definitely worth the wait, even in a not-so-great part of town. Yes you have to put up with homeless drunks while waiting in line for this place, but it's worth it. The food was amazing. The cornbread with jalepeno jelly was AMAZING. We took our leftovers back to the hotel for breakfast the next day. While the French roast coffee... More

Had to queue even on a Monday morning but it was worth the wait! Breakfast was amazing - i had the blackbean cakes which were delicious and something different to normal breakfast stuff. My boyfriend had eggs bacon and pancakes and said the pancakes were some of the best he'd ever had! Definitely recommend!
