Excellent but don't over-eat

We arrived at 7.25 on a Thursday to find a small queue for the 7.30 opening. We immediately got a table and both chose the specials. Sadly I let myself down by taking up the suggestion of the waitress for a cake whilst waiting. The cake was huge and ruined my appetite for the main of French Toast... read more

This is one of best breakfasts I have ever had. I got the special frittata of the day. It was scrumptious. My server recommended the corn bread. It was superb but it did have an extra charge. Coffee was good Portions are huge so remember to share. Get there early as there is a line Also be aware of the... More

This highly rated restaurant in SF is worth the effort if you go with realistic expectations. It is in a rough neighborhood... Homeless sleeping on sidewalk, beggars etc. It is small and thanks to its high ratings has a line outside wrapping around corner. Once inside it is a great place. The egg omelette creations were unusual and vey large... More

We had read and heard about how great the food was and the lines were always long but really this is worth the wait! We waited about 45 minutes and once we were in the service was quick and the people are so attentive. The food is absolutely amazing and make sure to check out the specials board and get... More

We joined a few other keen punters in the queue prior to opening to secure ourselves a spot having seen the reviews here, perhaps not entirely required on a week day morning, but this place is very popular and rightly so. Huge portion sizes so my advice is not to over-order, which is difficult with so much tastiness on the... More

Really good breakfast, worth a wait, our 90 minute wait in the cold was too long. Once inside at our table the service was friendly and fast. The hot chocolate was one of the best I have ever had.

This used to be our local diner at our last apartment. Delicious, high quality, and fresh food. For visitors to the US, a great American breakfast experience. We think the sweet breakfasts (pancakes, etc) are slightly better than their savories, but both are really great. Gluten free pancakes are the real deal PS! They're popular and there's almost always a... More

A busy place but the food was worth it. Great menu items, and a very large breakfast. We could have shared and still had left-overs. Very fresh food with many different choices.

Really great atmosphere, great coffee, great pancakes. We visited here for a late breakfast. There was a huge queue outside, which by all accounts is the norm, so make sure you have time. Open bar/kitchen gives confidence about cleanliness and is fun to watch whilst waiting for food. Blueberry lemon and cream cheese muffin was amazing but huge. A definite... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
