My wife and I decided to try Dottie's for breakfast after looking at some reviews. Definitely had to wait in line but it was totally worth it, service was great and the food was incredible, portions were very large, best breakfast we have had, so glad we went. We also got a piece of Rocky Road Bar to go for... More

We decided to try Dottie's for breakfast based on the reviews and they didn't disappoint. We tried the cornmeal blueberry pancakes and the pull pork omelet and they were really delicious. One downside the neighborhood was a bit seedy.

Suggested by the hotel’s concierge, we headed there a bit after 8:00am. He warned us, there might be a line, but surprisingly we were seated upon arrival. Extensive, classic and adventurous breakfast menu in a great cozy atmosphere: Who does not like being surrounded by a giant picture of Dorothy Dandridge or Lena Horne? Great service, attentive and unobtrusive. Make... More

Be prepared to queue. We went early morning and waited about 30minutes to be seated. Don't be put off by the area. It really is a bit iffy, with lots of homeless and beggars. Just try to ignore them. Our teenage children found this a little disturbing to say the least. Whilst you are waiting in the queue, try and... More

As other reviews say, the surrounding area is "edgy" but does provide something to pass the time while you wait in line for a table. Once in, the atmosphere is lovely. The staff do not rush you, the food is all cooked to order. We had a lovely time.

Authentic American diner in the heart of San Fran, must visit! Food was lovely if a little too much. Very stylish, friendly staff, unpretentious.

We went with friend whilst in SF as one of our party had heard about it. Be prepared to queue as it does get busy, (we had to wait 40 minutes) and this is where the negative starts a finishes. Whilst waiting outside your in the none desirable part of town where the people around are either stoned or high.... More

This is a very busy place. Long line to get in. But I felt absolutely no pressure to hurry up and open up my seat. The servers were remarkably unperturbed, chill. I was mucho impressed. The food was delightfully good. Perfect breakfast grub, in my view. Groovy ambience

Arrived at about 0900 on Monday morning. Was solo and able to be seated at bar in about 20 minutes. Ordered the lamb Merguez sausage, roasted garlic, tomato, spinach and goat cheese omelet. Very tasty and cooked to perfection. But what really brought it home was the grilled chili-cheddar cornbread with pepper jelly, to die for. Service was very friendly... More
