This place is great! The moment you walk in you can smell their coffee cake, it's almost like a monumental moment just stepping through the door. From venison sausage to basic scrambled eggs, they do everything very well. You would be silly to skip on the coffee cake, so just order it. The service... read more

When we arrived we knew there would be a wait. We did not realize it would be in a line down a smelly alley. But the people watching was fantastic! Once inside, you were treated like a VIP! Our waiter steered us away from the safe menu items saying, c'mon.. You can get that anywhere. Go crazy! We loved his... More

Went for breakfast at 8am. There were four people ahead waiting for a table. It is a cool interesting cafe with lots to look at. The staff were excellent. Sophia was our waitress and she was very attentive. I had a mimosa and the French toast with bacon, hubbie has southwestern omelette. Both were very tasty. Highly recommend eating here.... More

First of all....go early when they open at 7:30. There was a line when we arrived at 7:30 but everyone was seated. A 'cra cra' women and man were ranting and working the line but were more of a curiosity instead of a threat. We were seated in the charming back room (brick walls...cozy) and were able to have a... If you´re going to San Francisco, be sure to have breakfast or brunch at Dottie´s True Blue Cafe. I simply loved it. The food is great!!!! You will probably have to wait for a table but (I waited for 40 minutes on a Sunday) you wont regret.

Get there early - seriously. Queueing around the corner (like 30+ people) apparently isn't uncommon here. But it's worth the wait.

Food, atmosphere, and service bring people back. The restroom has a large framed window of a brick wall. Funny. Chicken apple sausage, yum. Appreciate that some baked goods are made on site.

We waited 40mins in a q to eat here and were very entertained by some unofficial street entertainment which made the wait worth it! Although the wait outside seemed anxious and fidgety, the atmosphere inside was serene and calm. We were seated in the back and I immediately loved the feel of the place including the huge mirror and chandelier.... More

There's no words to describe the deliciousness served at this place must go to in SF but be aware of the 90+ minute wait in line to get in, worth every minute :) Their baked goods, OMG!!!! try the blueberry whisky coffee cake.
