Like everyone warns, expect to wait a while, and the service is not the quickest, but breakfast is incredible. Be prepared for HUGE portions, the restaurant has a great vibe as well.

On our visit to San Francisco last summer we decided to try out some restaurants mentioned in the book Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. One that we chose was within walking distance of our hotel namely Dottie's True Blue Cafe. We waited about an hour in line all the while being entertained by the many colourful people in the neighbourhood. Once...

Arriving at Dottie's is already notice enough that they are doing something right. When we got there, approx 9:30am, they had a queue out of the cafe and around the corner for about 10m. This moved reasonably well and about 45 minutes later we were sat down.
I had a whiskey fennel sausage scramble whilst my wife had a prosciutto...

Queued for 35 minutes to get into this eatery but it was definitely worth it. The food quality was excellent and the choice was incredibly varied. As a vegetarian it gave me plenty of options but had a lot of meaty options for my fella too.
As there is a queue at their busy times I would have expected to...

Wow, I saw all the reviews on Yelp, Expedia and here but had no idea it could be so good. Great customer service, there was a nice line to get in but the staff were efficient at turning over tables, and getting us all sat. My Mom got the french toast with chocolat chips...YYUUMMYYY and I got the Smoked whiskey...

Fifteen years ago, I used to be in this neighborhood often with a dot com start-up over the denny's on mission between 4th and 5th but I didn't know about Dottie's. Back here to play this weekend and got lucky by having the hotel restaurant open late. The hotel doorman told us to go to Dottie's and that it was...

My husband and I had breakfast here twice on a recent visit to SF. Great breakfast and service. Great omelettes, scrambles, french toast, pancakes and pastries (we sampled a bit of everything). I had the black bean cakes which were awesome. We went on a weekday and there was no line. On Sunday there was a line but we got...

Expect to wait AT LEAST 20-30 mins! In a sketchy part of town but the wait was well worth it. Southwestern omelet was good. I had blueberry pancakes which was delicious.. wish they had the chocolate ones available! They had this chocolate pastry bar that was amazing. I had raspberry cream cheese muffin that was too dry for my taste.
