Worth the line!

Went on a wimp since Guy Fieri showcased this place a few years ago, and even though it's really not in the nicest area of San Francisco, it's really worth it! Insane amount of food and it's the best French toast on earth, we had a bit of everything and it was all more then we expected, if your... read more

This was our first trip to the new location. The atmosphere was inviting and the food was phenomenal. Can't wait until the cookbook is available!

You better get up early because there is always a wait. I dont care what time of year or what time of the week. This place is THE place for breakfast in the city. The omelet use such great variations of cheese and sausage that will not only make your mouth water listening to the description but meet every expectation!... More

After finding information about Dottie's here on trip advisor , we decided to try it. We noticed that there was a line wrapped around the corner waiting for entrance into the establishment . This was at 10 am. We waited for about 45 mins being approached by multiple panhandlers - union square reputation at best. Once we got in ,... More

I'd been to Dottie's on a previous trip to San Fransisco with my sister, so when my husband and I travelled here for a long weekend visit from Toronto, I knew he'd enjoy it. He's not one for waiting in line, but even he said the wait was worth it. Beware: the portions are huge. The food is very good,... More

This place, not in the best part of town, nevertheless attracts a large, knowing breakfast crowd, for good reason. Service is terrific; food is delcious; menu selections are extremely inventive and consequently unique. Even the orange juice is wonderful. We had blueberry/cornmeal pancakes, sweet enough that syrup was not needed, and scrambled eggs with pulled pork, onions and jack cheese.... More

Always wanted to try Dottie's, but was hesitant to wait. Finally did it on Father's Day, and can honestly say, it was worth the wait! The chocolate/banana french toast I had was simply fantastic. My wife enjoyed the Blueberry pancakes as some of the best she's ever had. The other items we saw go by, and in the front cases... More

Everything here tastes so fresh and so much flavor. The pancakes are perfection. The eggs, hash browns, bacon, and sausage were perfect. You have to wait in line but its worth it. Be patient and know you wont be disappointed.

We waited for about 30 mins and the food was great. The portions were a good size and I thought it was good value for what you got. Coffee was decent and the restaurant itself was nice. The neighbourhood was a bit of a decline but no one bothered us. Stuff like that doe t bother me too much the... More

Had not been to Dottie's since they moved to 6th Stert a few years ago. Used to be the first place we went to after early flight from East Coast got us into San Francisco by 10 or 11 o'clock or so. Still a wait which was okay, but quality clearly not the same. Potatoes lacking in taste and eggs... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
