We went over July 4 weekend and waited in line an hour and a hlal. My guess is that irwas due to the holiday-most other reviewers seem to have waited an hour or less. The wait is out on the street with some VERY interesting people coming up and down the sidewalk. That was great. However if you have trouble... more

The food was excellent, but the small restaurant size and line out the door makes it uncomfortable to enjoy breakfast as it all seems so rushed to get people in and out the door. I had one of the best omelets ever with excellent veggies and great pancakes but it was awkward to enjoy with people siting in the door... more

We dined here twice for breakfast while in SF. We arrived early and were the first inline both days. I really wish they would open earlier, that and the pornography on the walls and the refrigerator are my only two knocks against the place. Food was the best breakfast we have found so far in SF. This is a must... more

This "hole in the wall" is a must for breakfast lovers. We were prepared for a long wait and it was true - 45 minutes on a Wednesday morning but it was worth it. The home cooked breakfast was fantastic! The atmosphere is intimate and the service friendly and timely. We loved it. Home made bread for toast, cornbread, eggs,... more

I heard that Dottie's had the most incredible breakfast in San Francisco and was told to expect a long wait. Not only did I wait but I waited in line for an hour! When finally seated, I ordered the blue cornmeal pancakes while my husband ordered eggs, bacon, homefries and french toast. The blue cornmeal pancakes were ok overall with... more

My family and I ate at Dottie's during our visit to San Fran. We did have to wait about 45 min because it's a really small place. However our food was delicious! The menu has the normal selection you'd find in most breakfast places, but what makes this restaurant stand out is the specials menu written on the chalkboard on... more

Dotties opens at 0730- we arrived at 0705 and were 2nd in line. Having arrived the night before from the East Coast, we were starving. We stood in line and they opened promptly at 0730- no earlier! Before we even sat down the coffee was being poured. Never an empty cup- love that!! I had the blueberry pancakes with a... more

This was my second visit to Dotties. My sister was slow getting up, so instead of arriving when they opened, we got there at 8:05 am (and still had a half hour wait on a Thursday). The wait is worth it, though, because the food here is unbelievable. I had an omlet with the most delicious toast ever. I am... more

We have been to Dottie's on many occasions and recently we celebrated a wedding in San Francisco with family and friends from all over the U.S. Since everyone was staying at a nearby hotel, we suggested Dottie's for breakfast. Well, many of the guests went back again and again even though there was a wait for a table each time.... more
