For out-of-towners, the area is on the rough side (right in the Tenderloin) and you're going to line up outside the restaurant and wait a good 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to get it, but oh my gosh is it ever going to be worth the wait! We had a vegetarian frittata that was out of this world and the... More

I waited 45 minutes to get into this place. The ambiance is really cool, but hard to explain. It was kind of like the 50's meets laid back. The pancakes were amazing. They don't serve half and half, but when I said I wanted some for my coffee they made it for me. When I ordered my bacon the server... More

Third or fourth visit over say ten years. I reckon it's at it's best in the new location. Much roomier. Service was fantastic. Waiter made up with the long wait by giving us a banana walnut cake. Was amazing but above and beyond. Wife had raspberry pancakes but fortunately asked for half serve. Tasted awesome tried some of it. I... More

It wasn't easy getting in, but it was a delicious meal! The service was friendly, but the restaurant was just laid back and no one was moving with any concern for customer's hunger or time constraints. We had an hour for lunch and couldn't get in and out in that time. We'll be back only when we have more time,... More

I arrived just before 9 on Thursday, and waited about 20 minutes for a table for 1. I ordered the 1920's Prohibition Whiskey Blueberry Crumb Cake (as advertised on the chalkboard outside), and it was excellent! The whipped cream was fresh (not chemical), and the cake was moist. The atmosphere inside is quiet enough to be able to have a... More

I've passed this place up many times due to the line for breakfast. I finally went Monday and only had about a 10 min wait. I'm do glad I did. From the blueberry corn meal pancakes, dill sourdough toast to the wild boar sausage) which I am convinced is the best sausage I've ever eaten) You simply can't go wrong... More

My husband found this place online and off we ventured at 8am on a weekday. Even then the queue was out of the door and the wait was around 20-25 mins. But worth the wait! The breakfast portions are huge and tasty. My husband had a 3 egg omelette and I had pancakes. For coffee, tea, an omelette with a... More

We waited 45 mins for a table for 6 on a Saturday but it was worth it. The food was delicious - freshly prepared and well seasoned. Service was excellent. Try the pancake!

Dottie's is just into the Tenderloin (a sketchy neighborhood) and always has a line on weekends. We went on a weekday, got there early, and had a very short wait. The breakfasts are incredible. Coffee cakes, breads, and other "sweet stuff" are amazing and huge. Pick off the blackboard for wonderful stuff you've never seen before (there's a Speakeasy vibe... More

The best pancakes we have ever had. Banana raspberry were awesome. So was the Fritatta. Worth the wait. Line at 9 on Sunday but still worth it. Excellent service as well.
