Forty-five minute wait to enter for a late morning weekday breakfast. Worth it for food, servers, and happy patrons. South of Market so residents and homeless are readily in sight and sound. Beggar hit during our wait.

After reading great reviews online, myself and my sister decided to pay Dotties a visit. Admittedly it is not located in the nicest of areas but don't let this put you off, or the queue outside for that matter. We took this as a good sign that the dinning here would be great. It was!! Both the service and food... More

I can't remember what my breakfast was called but it had your basic breakfast stuff like 2 eggs over easy, country potatoes, Italian sausage and a couple of pancakes. I didn't really want pancakes but they came with the breakfast. Once I tried the pancakes I wanted nothing else. These were (according to our waitress) whole wheat buttermilk pancakes with... More

WOW! We ordered the Pulled Pork, Roasted Onion and Jack Cheese Scramble and upgraded our bread to the Grilled Chili-Cheddar Corn Bread with Pepper Jelly. My husband added one Pancake! We shared the meal and both were stuffed and happy when leaving! The scramble was very tasty and the cornbread was to die for! The pancake was also really good.... More

Great food and coffee! Highly recommended. The neighborhood is horrible!!! Even at 8 am you need to pick up the pace walking through! We walked from the intercontinental on Howard which isn't too far, less than a half a mile. We were verbally harassed a little on the way and it was uncomfortable enough to uber a ride back. Moral... There’s no better place to start than the beginning, unfortunately we had to wait circa 1hr to get a table at Dottie’s however due to the reviews and popularity of the restaurant we had banked on this being the case. On the day in question the sun was shining and there is a plethora of “interesting” individuals passing by this... More

This place is great! The moment you walk in you can smell their coffee cake, it's almost like a monumental moment just stepping through the door. From venison sausage to basic scrambled eggs, they do everything very well. You would be silly to skip on the coffee cake, so just order it. The service is great, the atmosphere is cozy... More

When we arrived we knew there would be a wait. We did not realize it would be in a line down a smelly alley. But the people watching was fantastic! Once inside, you were treated like a VIP! Our waiter steered us away from the safe menu items saying, c'mon.. You can get that anywhere. Go crazy! We loved his... More

Went for breakfast at 8am. There were four people ahead waiting for a table. It is a cool interesting cafe with lots to look at. The staff were excellent. Sophia was our waitress and she was very attentive. I had a mimosa and the French toast with bacon, hubbie has southwestern omelette. Both were very tasty. Highly recommend eating here.... More

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
