We waited outside for 25 minutes, outside the restaurant is kind of a beat down neighborhood with lots of homeless people, but if you have an open mind and just focus on getting in the restaurant then you wont have a problem, it was an experience. The food was amazing, my husband got the fritatata with avocado and other veggies,... More

We waiting in line, in the rain, for 30 minutes to get into Dottie's. I would have waited even longer. You are greeted at the door by someone who's first question is "How are you today?". That sets the tone for the entire experience. The decor is great, this place has been refurbed with love and care. The wait staff... More

We went on a Sunday morning around 8:00 and the wait to get in was about 45 minutes. Honestly, the problem was not the wait to get in, but more so the area in which we waited--many homeless beggars. I know SF and generally this does not bother me but there was nowhere to go, we were stuck in a... More

Be there early, especially on weekends or prepare for a 20-30 minutes queuing. However, we'll worth waiting for given value for money and atmosphere. We ordered 3 dishes for 2 adults, 1 teenager and 1 kid which was perfectly enough.

My husband and I were visiting San Francisco for a brief 48 hour weekend. Of course we use Trip Advisor and noted that Dottie's True Blue Cafe was ranked highly for San Francisco restaurants. We enjoyed the breakfast immensely. I ordered the Southwestern, which is Andouille sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers and Jack cheese in an open-faced omelet with home fries,... More

I last ate at Dottie's five years ago when I was visiting SF with my husband. It was a great experience then, and this time, even though I was going solo, it was friendly and superb food to boot. I'd only say, please ask down the line if anyone alone wants to sit at the bar. I didn't realise that... More

Even on a weekday, there is a line. But the food is worth it! I had the Chorizo Scrambled Eggs w/ the Cornbread and got the pepper jelly which is a definite must! I even ate the last little bit with a spoon because I didn't want any to go to waste.

When my husband and I started planning our trip to San Francisco, I googled restaurants that had appeared on the Food Network. Dottie's was one of those places. It said it was a must for breakfast. I will say it is a very sketchy neighborhood. The line to get in is outside on the sidewalk. We were in line behind... More

This is a must go, it isnt in the best neighborhood but it is worth the trip. I lived sort of nearby so we walked early Sunday morning to see if we could beat the lines. We lucked out we were seated right away at the community table, every person after us had a wait, so if you can try... More
