We love the Buca di Beppo chain and this one didn't disappoint. There were three of us. A small salad, a side of vegetables, two small entrees and cheese bread was way too much food. It sounds like too much as I write it. We took the leftovers to a homeless man so they didn't go to waste. Be warned... More

Nice an close to the Moscone and Union Square. The food was tasty but slightly small based on my American portion size experience so in a group there's no issue ordering a few extra dishes Was really put off by the lady that came around for the "free postcard" that we reluctantly took and then came in for the upsell.... I booked a reservation on their website in which I clearly stated we had a wheelchair in our party. When we arrived we waited for almost fifteen minutes as they were not prepared for the wheelchair. We were instructed to take an elevator down a floor and when the door opened we could not get the wheelchair out due to... More

I met an old college friend who was in town, for dinner. It was a quick decision and I had my family with me. We were looking for something casual because we had kids. I didn't realize it was a chain but the food was pretty good. Service took a while because they had to clear tables etc. but we... More

Went there on Friday night with my family and back on Sunday with friends. Both times were great. Had a coupon, four for $40. What a deal. I ordered extra food at both dinners and went home with enough for two more dinners each time. The food tasted great and service to match. The online reservation makes it very easy... More

This is a pleasant Italian restaurant with large portions of Southern Italian food. Its main attribute is its proximity to the Convention Center. It is part of a chain. We were here twice for lunch. The first time, the restaurant was crowded, and the service was fine. The second time, the place was far from filled, but the service was... More

Our group of eighteen had a difficult time finding space for a meal together until we found Buca di Beppo. They booked us without a problem and even called to confirm the booking on the day. The service was great as was the food. While the prices appear high, the plates are meant to be shared. There was plenty of... More

Great experience planning a corporate function! The Good: --large venue that accomodates large groups (we had 60 people) --reasonable, straightforward pricing: we had a budget and managed 2 salads, 1 pasta, 2 entrees and 12 bottles of wine. They had reasonable additional charges: $15/bottle corkage, and no cake fees (although they do not serve cake) --the tasting to choose menu... More

If you hungry for Italian and on a budget, this is the place for you. The atmosphere what like going to a genuine Italian restaurant. The waiter was honest and friendly. He immediately informed us that a salad and one dish was satisfying for most customers. Instead we ordered the Seafood trio platter which was average tasting. Then we ordered... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
