Buca di Beppo serves authentic Italian cuisine in an eclectic, vintage setting. Our dishes are served family-style, meant to be shared by everyone at the table. Two sizes are available: BUCA SMALL feeds two or more and BUCA LARGE feeds four or more. At Buca, guests delight in our lively atmosphere, enjoy the classic tunes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and admire our decor, including family photos and candid shots of Italian-American icons, such as Sophia Loren and Joe DiMaggio. Our energetic atmosphere, delicious food and friendly staff make Buca di Beppo the perfect place for great Italian food and fun.

Once is good enough

San Francisco has tons of restaurants to try once you've tried this one out. I wouldn't recommend it given a choice. The wait was awfully long for three items we ordered! Pepperoni pizza, chicken carbonara and spicy penne. I was disappointed ! We had ten in our party and we waited, waited, waited... read more

Lunch was an interesting experience. My first thought was hoping there would not be a fire as we walked down a narrow stairway to a series of dining rooms below ground level that seemed to have only one exit. We were a large group, nearly thirty, which probably accounted for very slow service. There were long waits, with empty plates,... More

Be prepared for gnocci. Was told it was a chain restaurant so didn't arrive with undue expectations. That aside, the pre-dinner drinks were in a well served bar and the wait for a table was short. The 10 people in our group were easily accommodated downstairs. Really good gnocci were on the horizon. Service was good, after a lumpy start... More

This was a first time visit to this location, my family are regulars at our neighborhood Buca and visit the Universal City Walk location at least 4 times a year as well. We arrived on a Saturday evening around 6:00 pm and put our name in for a table for 6 after parking in the open fenced lot a block... More

We enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant immensely. Small but full of old photos, memorabilia and great Italian music. One room was a little weird with a bust of the Pope as the centerpiece and a similarly themed room but in general a very cool place in the heart of downtown. Food was very good.

We love the Buca di Beppo chain and this one didn't disappoint. There were three of us. A small salad, a side of vegetables, two small entrees and cheese bread was way too much food. It sounds like too much as I write it. We took the leftovers to a homeless man so they didn't go to waste. Be warned... More

Nice an close to the Moscone and Union Square. The food was tasty but slightly small based on my American portion size experience so in a group there's no issue ordering a few extra dishes Was really put off by the lady that came around for the "free postcard" that we reluctantly took and then came in for the upsell.... I booked a reservation on their website in which I clearly stated we had a wheelchair in our party. When we arrived we waited for almost fifteen minutes as they were not prepared for the wheelchair. We were instructed to take an elevator down a floor and when the door opened we could not get the wheelchair out due to... More

I met an old college friend who was in town, for dinner. It was a quick decision and I had my family with me. We were looking for something casual because we had kids. I didn't realize it was a chain but the food was pretty good. Service took a while because they had to clear tables etc. but we... More

Went there on Friday night with my family and back on Sunday with friends. Both times were great. Had a coupon, four for $40. What a deal. I ordered extra food at both dinners and went home with enough for two more dinners each time. The food tasted great and service to match. The online reservation makes it very easy... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
