Varied menu and excellent preparation. Unfortunately, we had a poor waiter. We had to wait a lengthy period on our waiter to place our order after being promptly seated. Lively restaurant bursting full of atmosphere with a fantastic menu, produced daily. You can see the food being cooked by the chefs along one wall of the restaurant but do book ahead if you can. Waiting staff knew everything about the menu and ingredients. The sweets are divine. Well worth a visit when in Little Italy. more

I wish TripAdvisor permitted a 3.5 star rating, because I think that's where I would put this restaurant. The issue was that the entrees, while comptetent, weren't quite up to the price charged. This is one of the best restaurants of its class anywhere in the world. It is a nicely renovated establishment in the heart of San Francisco's little Italy district. Anytime my husband and I visit San Fran, we run to Rosa Pistola (North Beach). Rosa Pistola specializes in Rustic Italian fresh seafood and pasta dishes.
