By myself at the bar. The bartender is personable, more so than the host on the way in. He gave me a few tastes of wine for me to pick something I like. The menu is hard to understand so I got the cheese plate. Delicious. This place is in the alley with a bunch of others. Very touristy area.... More

I ate with a colleague after work; we had tapas and rioja. The wine was excellent, the tapas arrived very quickly and was delicious. I recommend the mini dish of paella, with shellfish and chorizo. We also had tortilla, jamon and calamari. All were great. This place is in Belden street, a pedestrianized area near the main business district so... More

It's on Belden Place which is actually an alley only one block long loaded with restaurants. I found B44 mentioned in an e-book about offbeat places to drink and eat in San Francisco. It specializes in Catalan food. My wife and I had such a good time on our first visit that we went back a few nights later. Our... More

I ate here with my korean friends that never tried Spanish food before. They were all pleasantly surpriesed and liked all the kind of paeias that we ordered. I also liked the food, and i can say that it was similar to original spanish one.

I hadn't been at B44 in a few years, before going for dinner and drinks a short while ago. I used to live in Barcelona and was impressed with the Catalan-inspired dishes offered at B44. I knew the evening would not go well when the hostess was dressed in stereotypical flamencoish garb. The staff was courteous and the drinks were... More

In the row of Belden Place restaurants; reasonably priced outdoor dining...tent with heaters as needed. Spanish tapas, wine, paella took me back to Spain. Fine service, cost moderate, unpretentious quality dining in a casual atmosphere.

I am shocked B44 has only 124 reviews. If you want to step out of your comfort zone or you are crazing authentic Spanish food made with passion and fresh ingredients, then B44 is the spot. When I say this restaurant is off the beaten path, that's an understatement. It's down an alley and past a few other alley restaurant,... More

We completely loved all of the Tapas, drinks and wine. We dine out a lot in SF Bay Area and this experience really stood out. The grilled Pulpo was melt-in-your mouth tender which is always a good test. The anchovies on toast was as good as we had in L'Escala in the Emporda. The chorizo and chickpeas was super, and... More
