Excellent Spanish Tapas restaurant

Love this little alley and all of the venues look great and all try to get you to sit down, if you come early (just like in Europe). I always choose Catalon or Provence and the paella tempted me again. It's always good, but this time chose fideo. More intense flavor than rice and left me with room for more... More

The food here is great, Catalan style tapas, every we tried was yummy. Their potatoes bravos, honey and rosemary ice cream, and cheeseboard stood out in particular. Cocktails were great too.

Had a wonderful lunch here at this Catalan/Spanish restaurant on beautiful Belden Place in the heart of the financial district. It is so nice to be able to eat al fresco in downtown and not be bothered by vehicles--Belden is a traffic-free alley with only restaurants and outdoor seating! B44 has a large selection of tapas, based mainly on the... More

Before visiting San Francisco my wife and I book B44 via Open Table for a Sunday Dinner. When we arrived in San Francisco on Saturday afternoon we decide to take a walk and checkout this restaurant to make sure it was what we were looking for the next day. It was situated on the most interesting lane which had a... More

Found this place online, lovely street with a few other places to eat. Brilliant food, shared tapas and paella. Would recommend a visit!

Group business dinner was held here after a conference. The ambiance is sort of euro cafe type, not really upscale. We ordered some tapas to share and they were good but not great. For entree I had the beef with chimichuri sauce, which was tasty but not exceptional. As a non-shellfish eater I was a bit limited in my selection... More

My wife and I visited B44 a few years ago but I haven't been back recently. I did return on a recent conference trip and I was happy to see that B44 was as good as I remembered. The restaurant is located on a small street and has both outside and inside seating. The menu has a large number of... More

In San Francisco for fun and the concierge recommended this Spanish restaurant. We would not return and the only thing not disappointing was the house sangria. We were seated in a dark corner with a table that tipped on the uneven floor. We could see they were understaffed for the crowd but we were in no hurry so we tried... More

Trying to find a good fish restaurant in San Francisco is harder than you'd think. We were helped by someone local who suggested the Bush street area had some good eateries. Very quiet when we went which isn't the best sign but service was good and food very well cooked. We all had paellas and there were extremely tasty - the... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
