Great restaurant with lots of character and atmosphere in a great location. Their pizza is delicious and the service was exceptional. Next time we are in SF, we will make a point to return.

Second time we have been here when in San Francisco and not disappointed. Can sit and watch the world go by with a couple of drinks and a snack or choose to have a meal. Food is fabulous, I had pizza, hubby had pasta - gorgeous. Love this place!

This restaurant has some of the best Italian and Seafood I've ever eaten! I was only in San Francisco for 3 days and after eating here on my first night and eating the best Crab Alfredo and drinking the best Mojito I've ever had, I made it a point to eat there again on my last night to try something... My friend and I stopped because of the food we saw on people's plates outside. The restaurant is colorful and charming. The food and the service was fantastic. Our waiter suggested wines that we really enjoyed. We had an eggplant appetizer that was heavenly! We also had the bacon wrapped scallops and the mussels, both tasty. The arugula salad was fresh... An impromptu lunch for a group of 5. The wait staff set up a lovely table outside for us. They fawned over us~ in a good way~ for over an hour. We sampled all sorts of food from a large menu. The pizza was very good & they were happy to substitute ingredients for me. The Calzone was awesome &... More

We love to spoil our customers here! It sounds like you had a magical experience. An impromptu trip to Little Italy, outdoor seating to enjoy the atmosphere -- we're so glad to have been part of it. I will definitely be letting my staff know what a terrific job they did. We hope to see you the next time you... More

The first time we walked past Calzones we knew this was a place where we wanted to eat. I mean seriously, the tables are right along the sidewalk...what a perfect place for people watching! We were on the mood for Italian, namely pizza. It was delicious and the service was prompt and attentive even sitting right out on the street.... More

The name is Italian, no doubt. That's it. Everything else is not. Having said that, I appreciated this ristorante/pizzeria and the effort of making/keeping it as close as possible to the Italian ones. I understand: tastes vary from one country to another and cooks must someway comply with what the clientele likes the most..., hence the 4-star rating. I had... More

I'm Italian so I can say that this is not a real Italian place,in the sense that they serve the foods pushing an extrakick that can satisfy the American customers and the waiters are not Italian as well but I ate an oval pepperoni pizza and it was ok.The location is great in the North beach area and restaurant itself... Not being able to get a table at Tony's around the corner we chose Calzone's from a neighborhood full of Italian restaurants. Outdoor heaters took off the chill of the evening as we enjoyed our meal while people watching. The calamari was plentiful and articulately delicious. We also had a margarita pizza which was smaller than expected but pretty tasty.... More
