One of the best Italian Restaurants in San Francisco. Family owned and operated, everything is homemade. If you go save room for the Tiramisu - it is phenomenal!

To be honest, I'm a bit torn about this review. I loved this place and hope I can get in the next time I'm in town. It is a wonderfully cozy restaurant on the corner of 2nd and Howard. I arrived before the dinner rush and was seated immediately. The host made me feel like an old friend as soon... More

I was in San Francisco on business and went to Umbria with a couple of colleagues. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was very good. My 2 friends had caesar salads that looked yummy although both of them picked the anchovies off. I had the evening special of pasta with oxtail bolagnase, another entree was spaghetti with meatbals... More

Walked here from the Moscone Conference Center. Oddly enough, they told us there'd be a wait to sit inside but we could be seated immediately outside. We opted to sit outside since we had very little time and we were very hungry. My companions each single serve pizzas that were so large neither of them could finish their meals. I... More

I liked this place. We stopped in and had a couple of pizza's which I thought were excellent. The bartender was personable and helpful with food and wine suggestions. They need more comfortable stools for the bar, that's my only complaint

Based on the recommendation of a San Francisco friend, my wife and I stopped in for light dinner and drinks at the bar of the Ristorante Umbria while she was at a conference not far away at the Moscone Center. What a treat! The salads were very good but, with no exaggeration, this was the best eggplant parmesan I have... More

Attending a conference in San Francisco, and our group was heading back to the Hotel to catch lunch when we saw Umbria. We thought it looked interesting so we grabbed a table. The service was excellent, all of the servers were speaking Italian, except to us of course, and keeping an eye on our water, bread, etc. The food was... More

Reminded me of Italy from the Italian waiters to the authentic cuisine. Though not extensive, menu was more than adequate and special was terrific (pasta with oxtail gravy). Prices were reasonable. Eat curbside which was a little noisy but overall had a terrific experience.
