Great food. Fresh good quality ingredients.Run by Italians and they are serving authentic Italian dishes and not the American variety of it. Restaurant is a bit crowdy and noisy. You have the option to sit outside on the street terrace.

Excellent service. Great wine list. Good atmosphere. Noise level allows easy conversation. The appetizers and salads are better than the entrees. I would go heavy on the appetizers with salads. The place fills up. Go early (5pm) or make reservations.

Been visiting Umbria for 4 years running now, and it juts keeps getting better. Not sure how anyone could give this place a bad review. It's always on wheels, and yet, it's always a pleasure to eat here. The owner is always here, and the staff are the same folks year over year, which says a lot about a restaurant.... More

Came here with a regular and it was just what the dottore ordered. Menu is not overwhelming and they were happy to customize a bit. Perfectly cooked food with a nice little flare. I had Veal Parm. Yeah i know it is a very American choice of Italian food, but staples are safe and also easy to then draw comparisons.... More

We had not booked a restaurant (group of 7) and ended-up here. Restaurant was packed but one of my Italian colleague said "if it's a true Italian restaurant, they'll find space for us", and they did...food was great, especially the starters and the lasagna, pizza was too heavy from my point of view. Wine selection is good (Italian and US... More

This restaurant is a bit small considering, but the food is excellent. I had the pizza with the truffle oil (for the first time) and an excellent cheesecake afterward. I would return as the prices in this city are usually much higher. 30.00 for a dinner with such good food in San Fran, can't go wrong

We had a very late night dinner at Ristorante Umbria near our hotel in downtown San Francisco. Since it was a spur of the moment decision, I wasn't expecting much. But the place was still quite busy, it smelled great and felt cozy as soon as we walked in. We only had the individual sized pizza's, each person a different... More
