We were quickly seated and we had water (so i don't know about their drink service), but the cups were more or less small. After we ordered, the food came more or less quickly, and we dug in. I had the forty clove garlic chicken, and i loved it. The garlic was placed on the skin and it tasted amazing... More

This was my second trip to the stinking Rose and I have to say that I gave it higher marks on my first time out. One thing that is consistent, when you make a reservation be prepared to wait anyways. It took about 25 minutes to get a table and when we did, it was on the second floor in... More

Seemed like a fun place to try even though we know it's considered "touristy". Led to our table, the floor under 1 of the place settings was strewn w food which was a dirty turn off. We stayed & enjoyed our meal...however, trip to Ladies room made me regret it because a filthy restaurant restroom indicates a likely filthy kitchen.... More

I'm very ashamed to hear this was the case. Please accept my apologies for the untidy table and washroom. That doesn't sound like us at all. Please know cleanliness is always top of mind around here. You can rest assured our kitchen is always kept in tip top shape. This sounds like it may have been a busy night for... More

You can smell the garlic for miles! I had a 40 clove chicken dish and my husband the meatloaf. Everything was cooked to perfection. Might I add the garlic is delish, from the mash potatoes to the garlic onion soup. Fun, great service, great food. A must go to when visiting San Fran!

The Stinking Rose is a place for garlic lovers, so If you are not a garlic lover or a garlic allergic just better not to go to this place. Garlic is everywhere, from starters to desserts. I recommend the Garlic Meatballs or the Garlic Baked Triple Cream Goat Cheese as starters, the Baby Back Ribs or the Salmon as main... More

The Stinking Rose is true to its name. Everything is covered in or smothered in garlic. Delicious! I had the baby back ribs, the meat just falls off the bones. So. Good. Definitely worth the visit in SF!

The Stinking Rose was recommended by friends, and it did not disappoint. The 40 Clove Chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was quite delish! Hubby had the clams and said they were very good...seemed like a lot more than a dozen and a half. The garlic and parsley with bread could be a meal itself! Our server was very... More

I made my way back to Stinking Rose after having been here about 8 years ago. What a treat! 40 Clove Garlic chicken was my menu and there were every bit of at least 50 cloves on the plate to accompany the meal. Garlic mashed potatoes accompanied the chicken. All things sweet roasted garlic lie here for an incredible treat.... More

Stopped here on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch for 3 of us. Got seated and served bread and our drinks very quickly. The food came and was tasty, lots of garlic flavor, and good portion sizes. The waiter only came by once to ask one of us if we needed another drink, never about how the food was, and only... More

I'm sorry the service wasn't more attentive when you visited. Though it's something we never enjoy hearing, I'm glad you let us know about it.
