Fun Dinner

We met family members here for dinner. We were all from out of town and they had heard about this restaurant from others. We were glad they chose this place. We had a table of ten and our service was beyond good. We never had to look for our server, she always appeared when we needed her! The food... read more

Much like other reviewers, we looked forward to leaving with terrible garlic breath - but alas we got nothing of the sort. Their signature appetizer is awful, I do not recommend it. Our main course was pretty good, but wasn't the Italian, garlic-lover experience we were expecting.

We were meandering around town mostly bar hopping when we stumbled across the Stinking Rose. Hmmm, the sizzling iron skillet grilled mussels look interesting. No. They were amazing. Been back on two more trips to SF, yes they are good, very good. So what happened? Since then I have had mussels prepared a dozen different ways in a dozen different... More

We made reservations, which I highly recommend. The place was clearly popular and there was quite a wait. Lucky for us, we had a reservation. We waited for maybe 6 minutes and were taken inside. The servers were quick and efficient- the brie appetizer was amazing. We really enjoyed the food. A must if in the area!

We have eaten there several times and recently I had the best Sea Bass I've ever had. It was crunchy at the edges and the garlic flavor was so good. We also loved the garlic clove appetizer with juicy sautéed cloves of garlic in oil served with bread. I thought the garlic flavor would be too strong but it was... More
