A Rose by any other name...

We were told to try The Stinking Onion, fine Italian dining. It was a fun decor and the food was good but not great, our waiter was nice but wished he was somewhere else making more tips. Aside from all the above we enjoyed our dining experience depending on who ordered what dish. We walked... read more

We went early for dinner and it was nearly empty. The service was good, nothing memorable. The food was fantastic, especially since I love garlic. I had the pork chop and it was amazing....

My husband and I love Garlic. We tried their pizza with garlic and other toppings. Well if you like Garlic this is your pizza. They put the entire clove on the pizza. So it's like a topping of whole garlic cloves!

My girlfirend and I ate here for lunch and had a full 3 course meal. The food was freshly cooked and very tastey. There was enough of a selection on the menu to cover a variety of different palets. The staff were very friendly. Defintely reccommend eating here.

San Francisco offers hundreds of very good to excellent restaurants at very reasonable, and even low, prices. There's no need to go to Stinking Rose because the food is only passable. The name with its association with garlic is gimmicky but no more than that. Don't bother with the garlic wine. Like the restaurant, it sounds interesting but isn't when... More

To be honest, the restaurant isn't all garlic like its made out to be. The menu could be a bit larger but what they do offer is very good and in general incorporates garlic in the dish as a garnish. I'm not a huge fan of garlic and I sill found I could eat there without problem. However, my girlfriend... More

This restaurant is great for all things garlic, the few times we have been there the service was ok but the food was great. If you love garlic and are in SF this restaurant is a must stop.

This was recommended to us by a friend as a good place to eat that was close enough to our hotel (on Fisherman's Wharf) to be able to walk; they were right. The food was great (I love garlic), the service good - they accommodated 12 of us for a joint birthday party and the ambience/setting was very pleasant. It... More
