A garlic-lovers paradise, almost 5 stars

This review could have gone either way, realistically 4.5 stars. First off, if you don't like garlic, don't go. If you either love or like garlic, The Stinking Rose is literally a garlic restaurant. Every dish features garlic, and I don't mean just a little sprinkle of garlic powder. My... read more

Andy, thank you very much for your comprehensive review. I will be sure to take a look at the lamb shank you mentioned -- we always want there to be a good balance of flavors. In any case, I'm happy that you stopped by, and I certainly hope to see you again in the future. Sincerely, Frank Reyes More

I ate here and had the Prime Rib roasted with garlic. It came with the garlic mashed potatoes. It was very good. Tasty and perfectly cooked.

The Stinking Rose is a place you go for the experience and the ambiance. The food was good, but in my opinion, not worth the price. The one thing I will rave about is the garlic, basil, olive oil mix that they leave on the tables to put on your fresh bread. This stuff was delicious and left a lasting... More

The food was good as we shared appetizers for dinner. The waiter did not come back to the table to check on us. We really needed our waters refilled badly. When it was time for the check is when we saw the waiter.

We were in town visiting family. A friend had dined here years ago and recommended we try it. We made reservations a week in advance, party of 4. We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated immediately. We shared the mussels/shrimp sizzling platter along with a "tub" of garlic. Both very tasty. The mussels were a little over done and... More

We had lunch here. The garlic chicken was divine ,and very good attentive service. All the food was undeniably tasty but avoid a side salad ( tiny and 9 dollars!! ) and the houmus was nice but again very overpriced for the size of it! Advice is just have a main course each.

Happy to hear you found the garlic chicken divine. Just be clear, we do use high quality ingredients and handmake each dish, which is accounted for in the price. That said, we do hope you feel like you get what you're paying for. Always let us know how we can do better. Sincerely, Frank Reyes More

super cool ambiance! Wonderful staff and DELICIOUS food! You MUST try the garlic ice cream and crazy as it sounds! My favorite part of the meal. The Garlic Roasted Prime Rib was AMAZING and cooked perfectly! Do be prepared for some garlic sweats and "stomach cramps" the next day from all the garlic, but totally worth it!

I recently had dinner in this restaurant. I rarely eat Italian out, as it never compares to my families homemade Italian food. I ordered the cioppino and wow it was great. The atmosphere was fun and intimate. I would go back.
