I'll never forget the prominent front of The Stinking Rose when I saw it for the first time in 2000. Almost 15 years later I actually stepped in. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! As a kid, we used to tell a joke about a red dwarf in a black fairy tale. The Stinking Rose experience reminded me of that. The service was... More

The food was good, but not spectacular. It was overpriced for both the quality and quantity. Service was minimal - not bad, but minimal.

Every time we get to SF this restaurant is on our must do list. The decor is fun and funky. The food is really great - assuming you really like garlic. We do! Our favorites are the chicken and the pork chop.

or talk to anybody for a day, or try to wear those clothes again. The Stinking Rose has a motto: ' We Flavor Our Garlic with Food". And that is an understatement. And that's a great thing. Seriously, if you do not care for garlic, lots of garlic, go somewhere else. Otherwise, walk right in, sit right down and get... More

By the name of the restaurant, I didn't have too much expectations going in. A friend suggested going there after a ball game, so why not give it a try. Took a look at the menu and seemed pretty decent. When we received our food, it blew my mind away. I ordered the Silence of the Lamb Shank and was... More

I had to try this restaurant after reading reviews on Trip advisor. I'm glad I did, the Stinking Rose is a great experience. The restaurant is attractive from the outside and inside doesn't disappoint. As soon as we were seated we were brought bread with a garlic dip that was delicious. All the meals we tried were excellent; 40 clove... More

North Beach is the Little Italy of San Francisco and our go-to place to take visitors. The food is delicious...but make sure you like garlic. After ordering, walk around to see the garlic themed murals in the back and photos covering the walls. About the food...delicious rolls hit the table right away and pesto garlic in place of butter for... More

Our first visit here 2 years ago very good and last night was just ok. We ordered the house salad, steamed clams and the cheese pizza. The clams and salad were very good but the pizza was so doughy and did not have any good taste to it. Almost tasted as bad as frozen pizza from the market. The broth... More

I'm very disappointed to hear our pizza let you down recently. It sounds like this was an off night for us. If you're ever dissatisfied with a dish, please alert your server. We'd certainly be happy to accommodate you in the moment. Sincerely, Frank Reyes More
