Wow! I find it hard to describe this perfect evening. The food was fresh, a perfect blend of flavors and artfully done. We had heard that this place was better with several couples as you get to try several soufflés. All the soufflés are for 2. A party of 6 pretty experienced foodies fell in love with this place. We... More

This was a first for us. We had the broccoli and Brie soufflé, along with the French onion soup. Let me tell you, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! The soufflé was light and delicious. The soup was equally as good. The waitstaff was delightful and funny. We made reservations in advance. I didn't want to miss... More

I finally understand what souffle is supposed to taste like. A real gem of a restaurant, hidden, and different. A most european chef. Leek souffle for main course, lime for desert. Just heavenly.

We really enjoyed Cafe Jacqueline. We loved eating leisurely like you would do in France. After eating and sharing the endives with roquefort and onion soup with my husband, I wasn't sure I could eat the souffle. You get one souffle for two and that was good. We had mushroom and prosciutto souffle and it was delicious. It was nice... More

Great soufflés and that is all you get...the mushroom is my favorite and the place tiny. She has these egg baskets in view that must hold hundreds of eggs...albeit it might be the mist expensive soufflé around.,.worth the experience. As they say, if you are Jack of All Trades...you are the Master of None and she is the opposite!

If you love real french souffles this is the place to go. The meal is served at the pace of a good meal in Paris, in other words very slowly to allow the maximum of conversation with your companions. Every souffle is made to order. Don't miss the chocolate souffle for desert. And unless you are a ravenous eater, each... More

Jacqueline's Cafe is the antithesis of fast food, so go with people whose company and conversation you enjoy, and settle in for an evening of relaxed conversation. For those old enough to remember the films, this is the place to have your "Dinner with Andre" or "Babbete's Feast", with the added pro viso that it's absolutely not for people who... More

I had dinner here on a Friday. The place is small, about 12 tables (half of which seat only 2). This north beach/Grant Ave. restaurant has the feel of a small Parisian café, dimly lit with turn of the century (1900) lighting and few adornments. But what people come here for is the soufflés, and these are to die for.... More

This place is a piece of Parisian heaven! Classic. Charming. Brilliant Food. It doesn't get any better. I love this romantic North Beach jewel. Don't go if you want a slab of meat. Don't go if you're in a rush. Otherwise experiencing one of Jacquelyn's heavenly crepe's should be on everyone's bucket list.
