Say what you will, YES, the Tonga Room is a tourist trap. YES, the Tonga Room is sort of cheesy. SO WHAT. The Tonga Room is a hoot. The décor, the rain shower over the lagoon, the thatched roofed huts, the flaming exotic drinks make it a must visit. A word of caution, the Tonga Room was very busy, make... More

I'm sure this isn't the place for great food during happy hour, but I'd would've expected food better than a Panda express! Don't get me wrong, the staff was great, the drinks were strong, the ambiance was just the right amount of cool, cheesy wowness you'd expect in a Tiki lounge, but wow was the food bland... I'm going to... More

So it was my birthday and I was visiting a new city, San Fran, and craved a new experience. The internet pointed me to Tonga Room. Sounded cool, reviews were varied, I decided to take the plunge. Nestled in the famed Fairmont Hotel, Tonga room was a special surprise. The replication of a ship in the middle of the ocean... More

The Iconic Tonga Room. Reservation in advance is recomended if you are not a Fairmont Hotel guest, delicious food, exotic flavors, come and experience unique cocktails "to share", great atmosphere and decor.

Happy Hour review only. Arrive by 445pm or you might need to wait. They seat only the amount of seating available. No reservations for Happy Hour. The buffet, well it's $10. It's nice for bar fare. The drinks, they're pretty darn good. But you've gotta go there just to experience it. Shout out to MICHAELA...Great server. I think she had... More

We sat down after our dinner out, lives atmosphere but not what we were looking for. Too loud for conversation and a menu of MaiTais. There was a$5 cover charge for non guests

This is a real fun venue where the band comes out in a boat in a pool in the middle of the room. They play Frankie Vale songs. You definitely need reservations. We went for drinks after dinner. We were a party if four, my friend, her son and his girlfriend. Despite the thirty year age difference, we all had... More

Expensive, but not particularly interesting drinks. A mediocre cover band. Decorated in a way that's not tacky and fun, just tacky. Service was not attentive.
