Ate at Postrio twice on a recent trip to SF. We stayed at the Prescott so it was super convenient. Small menu but everybody was happy with what we ordered. Brussels Sprouts are very good! The Hanger steak was good as well.

I think that the glory days of the previous chefs are gone. A local I was meeting choose this restaurant for our meeting spot. We were seated quickly but the restaurant was empty and they only offed us the most awkward seating so we asked for a booth where we could chat. We were taking our time and chatting and... More

San Francisco is a great city for food and I thought Postrio would fit the bill for a dinner meeting for 4. It's right across the street from the JW Marriott, so very convenient. Menu looked good. That's the positives to this restaurant. Once sat for dinner you smell this remarkably awful smell (as noted by previous reviewers). Something is... More

Breakfast close, just down the stairs. Full service and cooked breakfast. Lots of glass/windows for plant and garden viewing. Food was good but feel it was a little expensive, even for breakfast

How can such a 'famous' restaurant screw up scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon & toast? Seriously, I take my 85 yr old mother to Denny's (her choice, not mine) and they do better scrambled eggs than Postrio. Usually the minute you sit down for breakfast they ask if you'd like coffee, that didn't happen. We ordered coffee when we ordered breakfast.... More

What a downward slide from the "glory days of this restaurant!it was a packed exciting restaurant with wonderful food. The service was painfully slow,we had told the waitress we had theater ticket and to spite leaving ourselves 2 hours for dinner, our dessert and check arrived 20 minutes before curtain time. My hanger steak arrived as 4 medallions that were tough, the fingerling... More

We came into the Prescott Hotel later on a cold and icky evening, and I just was not up to going back out in the muck for dinner so we cancelled our reservations and went next door to Postrio. We stay at Kimpton properties fairly often and we have had mixed experiences with their associated restaurants, but we always want... More

The ambiance is very nice and this restaurant is an easy walk to the Curran Theater. However, the menu was too esoteric (squid ink, octopus, etc.) for our taste. More traditional options should be included.

Hi Esankay, it was good to have you in! Thank you for your comment about the menu being a bit esoteric. This is great feedback for a new chef and we are currently revamping several of the items on the dinner menu to give you some less adventurous but tasty options. I hope you'll try us again on your next... More

Loved the beet and carrot salad and can't say enough about the raviolis. This chef knows his stuff as the portions were perfect. I left the restaurant on my way to a pre-wedding reception feeling full but not too full or over stuffed from eating too much.

Thank you for your comments! We hear that a lot from our dinner guests and our new chef takes so much pride in what he does. He is trying to keep a few of the postrio traditions going but he wants to make his own mark on the brand as well. Stop by and say hello the next time you're... More

We came in tired from shopping and found the food strange and not so good. It was only lunch, but the restaurant needs help.

Thank you for your comments, JonieSue! We actually couldn't agree more with our lunch menu not being up to our standards which is why we are revamping it currently. In the mean time, try us for dinner where chef Brandon Armstrong is producing some truly delicious food for tired shoppers every night. More
