A classic place to go.

Every time I go to San Francisco, I use to go to Lefty O'Doul's restaurant. The atmosphere, the decoration and the food is more like the old school type. You can eat a good turkey sandwich .Well located, close to Union Square, the costumers use to make a lot of noise out there, mainly, singing... read more

Staff must have been having a bad night, from the food server, cashier, and waitress, all rude. It is a shame because the food is good and the piano bar is great. too bad they can't get the customer service down.

Stopped in here for breakfast before hopping on the bus tour at Union Square. Felt very old school, a bit on the dive side. Menu had a good selection of standard diner breakfast options. I tried the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs. The beef was a little tough, not enough potatoes mixed in. Toast was delicious, a nice sour... More

Popped in as it was by our hotel. The place has some character to it ill give it that. The vibrant live atmosphere was fun. in the evening there was live music from some guy playing a piano and a load of people around him singing away. Wasn't mine and my partners type of thing to get involved with but... More

Wow! What a find for us. After giving up on waiting in the cold & damp fog for the fireworks, we headed back into Union Square & stopped off into this amazing little bar :) We sat down at the bar & the bartender (I wish I could remember his name :( ) immediately began talking to us & asking... A landmark location in SF. It is showing it's age but it has a lot if character. Buffett style, food is delicious but very pricy for a Buffett. Great pastrami sandwich, wife had a huge turkey leg with mashed potatoes. It would have been a perfect restaurant but I expected to pay $75 for 6 buffets and instead price was... More

We walked in around 10 pm (because we had just arrived in town and it was near our hotel) and the piano bar at the entrance was packed with people and so loud. Once passed all that mess, we see that it's a buffet. Yuck!!!! I'm beginning to question what the reviewers on this site think is good!?!? If you're... More

Lively ( noisy) bar - great service from bar man who helped us choose local lagers. However low rating for food - sorry but truly horrible. Worst meal in San Francisco. Guess the bar caters for drinkers who get the munchies late at night....and don't care what they eat. Food poor quality and Luke warm. It was our first night... More
