Overall good food. Loved the piano bar in the evenings. Right next to the Westin St. Francis and Union Square.

Dreadful place. Questionable clientele, inattentive staff. Barman was doing nothing, even when catching my eye, he just stood there. No politeness in sight. Go to Johnny Foley's on O'Farrell instead, 1 block back towards Market instead. Noisy, but much better crowd and friendly staff,

Frank O'Connor brings lively wit and a sense of companionship to those who crowd around his piano for the night. I recommend coming after dinner for a drink or two. Fun way to spend an evening.

My wife and I were staying at the Monaco hotel (see review) and wanted to walk to dinner. We always like trying new places. Of course, sometimes you get a lemon. There is a lot of tartness at Lefty O'Douls. The price is indicative of a bargain, but sometimes you get what you pay for. My wife ord The atmosphere... More

Located opposite the Westin St Francis-lucky for us,is Lefty o'douls bar and breakfast. The walls are covered in old baseball photos of the greats of the game.easy to find original pics of Joe demaggio,Mickey mantle,Babe Ruth and even Marilyn Monroe. We were there for 2 days at breakfast and enjoyed the pancakes,waffles-and bacon and eggs with thick French toast. Great... More

Really torn about this place. There is something I really like about. Actually there are things I love about it. It's as San Francisco as it gets. You can feel the old school charm, the history. Its a place that can care less about what you think of it. Its I've been here for years before you even thought of... More

We were looking to find any place to watch the football game, so our expectations weren't that high. The food in this place wasn't good, the place wasn't very clean, and overall we were disappointed.

We were disappointed, marginal food quality, poor service and no comparison to nearby Irish Pubs. Dirty carpets lead to a poorly kept restroom.

I've been going to Lefty's for years. I know the restaurant side is packed all of the time. Old-fashioned Hauf Brau style cooking with sliced roast beef, potatoes and gravy. The bar is amazing with local bartenders who know the city and have more information than most tour guides! Piano bar at night is hilarious... inebriated patrons trying to keep... More

One reason to visit Lefty's is to be able to say that you have been to a San Francisco landmark; but it not the best reason. Other reviews have talked about the great breakfasts but the lunch and dinner menu is just as good. I had a ham plate with mashed potatoes and gravy, baked beans and macaroni salad. The... More
