Before or after the ball game

Only a block away from the ballpark, Paragons is a nice choice for a bite to eat or drink before or after giant games. It is always crowded and fun with people coming and going to the game.Try the mussels. It is a little pricey but beats the ball park for food value. They have a wonderful bar and it... read more

India Pale Ale Craft Beer - Fantastic! Mushroom Cigars: Mushroom Duxelle rolled into phyllo dough and baked served with a great dipping sauce. - Fantastic! Pork Chop: Excellent seasoning, but a bit overcooked and dry - Good Mac 'n Cheese: I prefer Trader Joe's Frozen - Fair Potato Ballls with Bacon Jam: All hype, just country style breakfast potatoes with... Was with an old friend for dinner here. Good scotch selection. Very nice flatiron steak and very accommodating to special dietary requests. Pleasant, cool dark atmosphere in the evening. The wait staff was very nice. Overall just a good, pleasant dinner where I didn't mind paying the bill. If there is a Giants game on it might be hectic. Sidewalk... More

I have had more than one bad experience here but still friends drag me there after a Giants game and I go along reluctantly. You will find that their post game strategy is to tell you that the kitchen closes 30 minutes after the last pitch to get you to order something right away. Then they purposely hold the tag... More

This is a wonderful spot for a meal and/or drink. I imagine before a Giants game across the street, it's the PERFECT choice. I love lunch time, outside on the sidewalk. Wonderful people watching. Superb friendly service. A little pricy, including for the wines, which could be a tad more creative considering you're in the heart of one of the... More

Went last night for early dinner before the Giants game. Pretty crowded, but managed to get a table for the 4 of us. One hostess was rude, twirling her hair whether deciding to seat us. The other hostess was very nice and led us to a table. The server was great. We had garlic fries, calamari for appetizers they were... More

It's expected this place would be a little pricey being downtown, especially for just lunch. But the food was great, people were friendly, and the place was nice. A few more items on the menu might have been nice. Also, they closed kind of early for being next to ATT park on the fireworks night..

6 of us for lunch mid week. Great salads, huge burgers, super hot wings and all well cooked, good service. A really good local to drop in for some food or just a drink. Definitely worth trying if you are the vicinity.

Last week my company had a private holiday party at Paragon's GALLERY room with a buffet in their library. This was the most hassle free and easiest, tastiest place in memory to have our holiday party with 45 guests. Servers were attentive and not intrusive. We also enjoyed the fact that we weren't rushed out of their with a cut-off... More

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
