Hotel recommended this small cafe. Fantastic lunch. Really delicate fish and starter. True Gem. Go there.

I thought the food was what I'd expect given the price point. Not terribly creative, but well-executed. I was sitting next to the diners who wrote the review entitled "A sad end to our San Francisco trip" and must admit that I was amazed that when the Mom went to the head waiter to show their licenses that he didn't... We've been to Café Claude a number of times over the years. We always thought of it as a cozy place with reliable good (though not exciting) food. We needed a place to meet friends and thought "let's go back". What a disappointing experience. It started with the host. When we got to the restaurant there was one table occupied.... More

The waiter was nice but it didn't compensate for the rest. Ridiculously expensive for what it is. Don't go there!

My 22-year old daughter and I were excited for a celebratory dinner on the last night of our trip! We had a very upsetting experience at cafe Claude. Strangely, they did not recognize our Minnesota driver's licenses as acceptable identification to order a glass of champagne. They made my daughter feel self conscious and implied I was complicit in illegal... More

this is really a classic place, with a really good menu and wine list. Right in the financial district, tucked away in an alley. Great service and everyone in my party of four enjoyed their meal. I had the classic steak Pom frittes...excellent. Again, a really nice selection of wines by the glass as well. Really good place.

Café Claude, tucked away in an alley of small restaurants near Chinatown has been a favorite for decades. We had not visited in 5+ years and were surprised to find sleek new décor but the service and food were as remembered. Good salads and sandwiches with Alsatian beer. We'll be back.

When I go downtown I love going to lunch at Café Claude. The food is consistently good. A little of the Frenchness is missing but enjoyed it just the same.

Everything promised well for the Cafe Claude: the welcome was warm, the booths snug, the menu enticing; but it never quite delivered. My colleagues both chose roast squash soup which they pronounced good. My lardons salad was good except that the egg on top failed the basic egg-cooking test, having lost its vibrancy during the operation. One of my colleagues... More
