Great little spot

A lovely little French place located on of the Financial district's little alley ways, Claude Ln, off Kearny and Bush streets. That's a short walk of 2 blocks north and 2 blocks east of Union Square. We came just for a drink at the bar and to listen to live jazz in the background. A bit of a... read more

We ordered three entrees: 1) Truite Amandine, which is a trout with toasted almonds, haricot verts, golden raisins, capers, and meuniere sauce, in my opinion was the best dish. The presentation of the dish was not very fancy, and it's a bone-in fish dish. When you're paying so much for dinner, I expected a lot more. 2) Confit de Canard,... More

We like French food, so this is much cheaper than going to France! This is the second time we have been here. Check the menu on their website for the entrees that are available. There are generally about eight entrees on the menu and a couple specials, which is not a lot, but quality over quantity. They have live music... More

First time I've experienced the steak tartare being prepared at the table. Since I've also never made it, when the waiter asked me what ingredients I prefer, I was flummoxed. I actually had no idea what goes into it (except raw egg because of the few times I have been at restaurants who put the egg in shell on top... More

A hidden gem tucked away near Union Square. This little bistro brings bohemian Paris to San Francisco. Good food and wine in a cozy, relaxed venue. Indoor and outdoor seating. Just a short stroll from Union Square but map it out. It's tucked back on a little alley (Claude Lane)

Table of 4, anniversary celebration. Early dinner: 6:30 pm. First, we were seated across from each other at a table so narrow that our place settings would bump into each other with no room for salad or bread plates. We requested a change and were accommodated. Then began the menu disappointments. The first 3 wines we ordered? Not available. Had... More

As you can imagine, SF has plenty to offer. After visiting the restaurant nearly every weekend in the past 6 months (which means that I pretty much tasted everything on the menu), I can definitely say it is just a perfect place. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is just perfect.

Hotel recommended this small cafe. Fantastic lunch. Really delicate fish and starter. True Gem. Go there.

This is a fine French bistro in the Union Square / Financial district. As noted, it's down essentially an alley but the restaurant itself is warm and welcoming. Went on a Sunday night with work associates in town for a conference. We had an early pre six o'clock reservation and things did get busier over time, the soups, salads and... More

I thought the food was what I'd expect given the price point. Not terribly creative, but well-executed. I was sitting next to the diners who wrote the review entitled "A sad end to our San Francisco trip" and must admit that I was amazed that when the Mom went to the head waiter to show their licenses that he didn't...
