My wife's cousin was in San Francisco, so we went to the city to meet. I searched for a nice restaurant near her hotel so we wouldn't have to travel far. Among the reviews I read was Cafe Claude. We all agreed that it would a different experience. I was afraid that we would have to wait, but we were... More

While visiting the city we met cousins for dinner. Since they are local, we let them select the restaurant. They had just been to France this summer and had been trying to eat here, but had never been able to get reservations. So glad they got them last night! We ate inside, and since it was a cool breezy evening... More

We ate hear while staying a few blocks away and it did not disappoint. The steak tartar was prepared table side and it was out of this world, I usually find tartar to be average and this was truly great. I had the coq au vin for dinner and I wish I could learn to make this at home, it... More

We had the steak tartare, it was very good and generous, prepared tableside. Our entrees were very good, I had the fish special. Only problem is high prices on average wine, which makes no sense in this area. I wish they would embrace the local wines, I would order more, but we will be back. Very reasonable for what we... Met two of my cousins who reside just outside NYC in San Francisco. Took them to dinner at Café Claude on September 8th. Both were very pleased with the menu, the ambiance and the service (as was I). One tried the coq au van, the other flat iron steak. They were very pleased with their choices. I had the trout... More

Had the figs/prosciutto, trout, and fruit tart. The trout was swimming in butter and everything else was decent. The iced tea had a hint of peach infusion, which was delicious and refreshing. Service was attentive, but she had a feeling one particular person was paying and payed attention to that specific person. It was decent.

Based on the mixed reviews, we were a little dubious but took the risk. The atmosphere is very cozy, very 'European restaurant' feeling. Our server was lovely, attentive, and gave good information and suggestions. My spouse had the nicoise salad, and enjoyed it very much. Very fresh ingredients with lots of tuna and dressed well. I had the duck confit,... More

Pleasant enough for a simple dinner. Waitstaff was fine and ambiance ok. Food was just ok. Not worth a special trip.
