Walked by this place on the way somewhere else. Turned around and didn't regret a moment of it. Perfect service, delightful food (I had the scallops, unbelievable). Great wine list with knowledgable wait staff to help you decide. It's small and tucked away in the middle of the Union Square area but it was not at all touristy. This may... More

Went with a group of 8 colleagues attending the IUPAC Congress. Staff were helpful and attentive. Appetizers were excellent especially the Frito misto. I had the halibut. Was okay - maybe a little dry but still pretty tasty. Wine selection was excellent. I would also recommend the truffles to share to finish off!

I was one of a party of twelve and had dinner in the downstairs dining room. It is a bit dark as any windowless space will be but there is attractive lighting and a series of curtains between tables that can be arranged to provide implied privacy. Our group ordered a variety of entrees. Prior to the full dinner our... More

I was looking for a spot to have a nice glass of wine and something to eat. Came across First Crush in several online sites. Located very close to several major hotels as well as the Powell Street BART station/Cable Car Turntable, First Crush is in the heart of the lively downtown area. I chose to eat at the bar,... More

As we walked down from our restaurant looking for a late night spot for a drink, and some food, as we had just arrived in San Fran. We came across this little place on the corner. Looked good, and the menu also looked. We were seated immediately, and our server was on us with sparkling water. I have never seen... More

Thank you for finding our little gem! I am so glad you enjoyed the scallops and Lobster Mac and Cheese (they are our top sellers). We offer a premium all California wine list and thank you for recognizing the efforts of our wine director. We look forward to your next visit. More

Restaurant has recently started with brunch and it's amazing. Portions are solid and Bloody Mary is awesome. Eat most awesome apple scrambled eggs and coconut pancakes, delicious! Will definitely return and so should you!

We had tickets for "Once" at the Curran and wanted a restaurant close by. First Crush is a great find for the future and we will recommend to theatre-going friends. The menu is very eclectic - with fun small plates that are perfect for sharing. Excellent wine menu and the server was very helpful in selections - how many small... More

A last minute choice for a late dinner. They took us right in and due to the time (9:30pm), we shared a few things (amazing fries, steak, and salad). The meal was excellent and so was the staff. The tasting flight of the wine was less than impressive (Meritage and Pinot) but if they stepped those up, I'd give it... More

Great location in the shopping area of San Francisco. Service was good but not as friendly of some of the other restaurants we visited. Food was really good.

The drinks were fantastic. I had something called "The Last Word" - Hendricks Gin, green chartrseuse, an apparatif that apparently only two monks in the world know the recipe (at least that's what the bartender told me), fresh lime juice, and luxardo marachino liqueur. It was exquisite. I had a beet salad, with arugula, goat cheese, and tangerines, and then... More
