Nice Restaurant in Union Square

This was a nice upscale restaurant in Union Square. The decor was dark wood and very contemporary. We sat a long table for 7 at the front of the restaurant so we didn't see how large it was. The menu is not huge, but the items are well thought out and varied. Portions were nice sized. Most in our... read more

I was last in SFO in January 2014 and really enjoyed my visit here. The waitstaff was friendly enough, but it was pretty noticeable that larger parties (read, bottles of wine) pulled all staff towards them, and folks going in solo or in a couple will be second banana. I wasn't sure if I wanted to eat, as I only... More

The atmosphere could really use a boost. The atmosphere is pretty lame for being a wine bar, with this name, and these prices. The food was mediocre, nothing special. The wine flights were good. Service was okay. Would only go back here if we were at a loss for where to go. Very pricey. Not charming.

We stayed at the Clift and were recommended First Crush as a great little place serving California cuisine. As this was our last night in California after a long road trip We really were hoping for a special dinner. When we arrived (on time ) for our 7.45 dinner reservation, they informed us our table wasn't quite ready. The guests... More

Took my team there for a night in the city, the food was American with a twist and the wine flights were amazing! Everyone loved the food from a Kobe burger to ribeye to seafood. Amanda the owner was so gracias and friendly it really made the night magical for the team. A definite place to visit. Near the cable... More

First Crush is a cute little restaurant in Union Square. It's small, so make a reservation. We shared a cheese flight, dessert flight, truffles and some wine. Everything was delicious. The lavender Creme brûlée was outstanding. A good time was had by all. Great service. Great atmosphere and decor.

We and some friends went for dinner recently and enjoyed the experience. It is a kinda funky restaurant, serves wine flights and cheese flights. My husband and I shared the roasted beet appetizer, very good! He had the chipotle pork chop, which was quite good, another had salmon, another the airline chicken and two of us the seafood cioppino which... More

I'm a sucker for local wine bars, and First Crush fit the bill perfectly for dinner and some flights of wine on a recent business trip to San Francisco. The space is small and a bit cramped, which also means it gets quite noisy when full. That aside, everything from the menu options, to the wine flights, to the food,... More

Being in SFO on business, I chose this place based on other TA reviews and was not disappointed. It was fairly crowded so I opted to sit at the bar. The bartender, Adria, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She suggested a great white wine to go with the crab Caesar salad and a Pinot for the scallops..delicious!

This small restaurant has great food and service. The wine list was more than adequate. Being so small, the restaurant is pretty quiet. Our server was very attentive. We each ate a different meal (3 of us) and all enjoyed our selection. Would definitely recommend and go back next time we are in San Francisco.
