Just got in from traveling from the east coast and the time delay was really messing with us. We got a recommendation from our hotel to try this place out and it was exactly what we needed. Absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere felt like we were in a little place in Italy. Because of the limited seating, you'll want a reservation.... More

Been there for my 40's birthday. Romantic and classy ambiance. Real good food and great wines. The down stair area is more cosy than the one just by the entrance. A funny thing to know : one Monk TV show episode took place just at the streets intersection (Mr Monk and the foreign man) and "Monk" house is the one... More

Looking for Italian but staying over by Union Square requires a walk an attempt at a cable car (alway packed) or something closer. We found the Nob Hill restaurant after a good walk but the wait was long so we carried on to Venticello. Some reviews say it owned by same people but I cannot vouch for that. We licked... More

a cozy warm inviting Nob Hill Italian dining experience. Great staff with a very thorough menu. Wine suggestion was perfect and service was prompt and professional. I will tell everyone I meet to try and dine here when in San Francisco .

Venticello is a great little neighborhood Italian spot. We were staying at the Fairmont and walked over. It’s very close. The restaurant is small and was packed on a Monday night, so I suggest reservations for sure. Unfortunately we were seated on the upper level, which meant that every time the door opened we got a blast of cold air... More

Recommended by our hotel concierge, we walked over (up over and down a mountain) to an absolutely charming intimate restaurant. It was very difficult to order, because everything on the menu looked delicious. Our appetizers were spectacular: one was figs with prosciutto, goat's cheese and hazelnuts; the other was scampi with a spicy sauce - neither disappointed. we had the... More

Venticello feels like a neighbourhood restaurant where the locals dine. It's a small, comfortable and upscale/casual place. We enjoyed the grilled shrimp appetizer (spicy sauce on the side), fish and salad. The pizzas and pastas looked really good, but we're off wheat. Service is friendly and not rushed. The restaurant has two levels. Ask to sit on the bottom level.... More

Fabulous salads, wonderful thin crusted unique pizza with an excellent choice of wine to complement an outstanding meal - this describes our first tie experience at Venticello. Kudos to the chef and to our server Steven who made sure our appetites were satiated. We left knowing we had dined at one of the finer Italian restaurants in San Francisco. BTW-... More
