What's not to like about hog Island oyster Company? They don't have a huge menu but everything on it they do really really well. Let's start with its location. You can't beat the ferry building when it comes to a really cool place to eat. There was a line when we arrive for lunch. It moved fairly quickly though. Seating... More

We arrived w a party of 9 (4 adults, 5 kids) around 1pm on Thurs 8/07. We lined up in the queue for a table. Hostess was surly, at best. We waited 45+ min for a table for lunch. Our male server was standoffish, unfriendly, and rushed. He was impatient and did not give us time to ask questions. Some... More

When restaurants get hyped way up I am always skeptical. But this place does not disappoint in any way (well, except maybe the long line). We had the Oysters Rockefeller - totally different then any Rockefeller I have ever had and totally delicious. Also had an assortment of raw oysters - fantastically fresh!! The Oyster Po' Boy sandwich with the... More

Our party of five arrived about 8pm on a Sunday and waited around 20 mins for a table, which was not too bad. Also, we were kept informed of the likely timescales throughout the wait, so didn't feel abandoned. Well-sited, right by the water, with a good atmosphere. Tried both the clam chowder and the fish stew. Both good, with... More

Great food, fun atmosphere, no bathroom, what's up with that? Had to use one next door and share it with a homeless guy, but I understand it's in a mall like environment. Still gave it a 5, awesome fish stew, chowder, clams and oysters.

We stop by the newly reopened and expanded Hog Island Oyster Company inside the Ferry Building for brunch after shopping at the Farmers Market. Even though the space has been expanded, there is always a line here, with good reason. it is one of the best places for anything related to oysters or seafood in general. We prefer to sit... More

The queue started forming before 11.30 am and we were the 2nd group in queue; waited till 12pm on that particular day before they opened. By then, the queue was snaking long. So do queue early. Had their oyster platter and (skip the clams which are tiny and not that fresh) grilled oysters, which were great.

Situated right on the water in the Ferry Building you will find : simple and clean décor, great place to grab " small bites'' to share over a quick drink . Grilled small peppers, fried small anchovies, raw clams and oysters on half shell and best of all, their chowder. Maybe their claim to fame. An added bonus was our... More

Wow, we stood in line for this and was it worth it!!! Line moved quickly and solo diners and couples got in even faster. We were 3 and sat at the bar overlooking the cooks - noisy but fascinating. We agreed to sit there so we could get in quicker. Fast and excellent service and it was SO very good!... More

We got there at 9:00pm with no reservation. 30-45 min wait. We put our name in anyway. BUT it was only a 15 min wait. And it was worth the wait!!! We sat at the shucking bar with a view of the Bay Bridge which has a light pattern show. The waitress recommended two different types of oysters. Delicious! And... More
