If you like oyters you can't miss it!

A really excellent american seafood restaurant. I still prefer the italian way to cook the fish, but I think that if you like seafood you can't go in San Francisco without to visit it. I ordered the 6-different oysters - delicious and fresh oysters, knowledgeable, attentive staff. Get there early to get a seat outside looking over the bay.

By far the best place for oysters in San Francisco. However, if you are up for a road trip outside the city - I recommend the Hog Island Oyster experience on the coast. Same company, but the oysters are better and are physically out of the water less than 4 hours before you eat them. Also, they have some awesome... More

OMG! I doubt you could get fresher oysters anywhere other than dig them out yourselves! Two of us shared the Oyster Bar Mix dozen and we could've eaten a dozen more - but the $ stopped us. We also each had a salad: I had the Asparagus Salad - which was absolutely heaven to the taste buds. My husband had... More

Having just visited the Hog Island Farm on Tomales Bay, we came back to the Ferry building restaurant to get more oysters. We were SO dissappointed that they had done away with the $1 Happy Hour oysters that we had enjoyed a few years ago. So now you have to pay $2-3 an oyster so they can pay for their... More

Ferry Building for late lunch. Only a short wait and sat outside to maximize the view. Useful selection of drinks and the service both efficient and friendly. Choice of six varieties of oysters which were perfect. Ingredient quality overall is great. They use bread from the next door Acme and butter and cheese from Cowgirl. We had the Shrimp and... More

My daughter, who is a trained chef, and I ate dinner here and had a delightful evening. We only had to wait in line for about 10 minutes - the hostess was charming and helpful. Our waitress was excellent - from introducing us to a new wine, after giving us tastes, to helping us select our wonderful shared meal. We... More

We visited the Ferry Building and as it was lunch, getting a table was not easy. More so as we were a group of 6. The wait staff was very helpful, and offered us 2 small tables, which we were happy to accept. Just when we were about to get seated, we were offered a bigger table which could seat... More

If you are in the San Francisco you need to stop by Hog Island. While waiting in line I had their twist on a mojito. Perfectly refreshing. This visit I sat at the kitchen bar and enjoyed a oyster bar mix of 12 oysters. DELICIOUS! Sitting by the kitchen was entertaining. Chefs are pretty amazing at how fast they work.... More
