Trendy and good

This is one of the trendiest sushi places in San Francisco. The variety is outstanding, the service is excellent, and the fish super fresh. If you want to venture outside the big brands, you will also find amazing Japanese craft beers. Don't miss the sake library room: it's one of a kind experience... read more

Our reservation was for 8 pm we arrived a few minutes early and were told that our table was not ready before 10-15 minutes. We went for a walk and came back at 8.15. The woman did not even ackowledge us, busy on the phone and ignoring us totally for the next 10 minutes . I said to her if... More

Very nice restaurant. Found the hard way that when in San Fran you have to book in advance to get seating at any of the better restaurants, so it was a very nice surprise to be able to come upon this place near our hotel. We didn't have reservations, but was able to get seating in the lounge area. Everything... More

One of the best places in the world to eat sushi is in San Francisco - Ozumo does not disappoint. Staffed by super efficient and friendly waitresses - it's a outstanding place to chill out - drink some sake and beer, and partake in one of life's small pleasures.

It is a great restaurant but each dish had such strong flavors that all combined, I felt there wasn't enough subtlety in the dishes. A truly amazing restaurants should have delicious food but esp in a setting where they recommend sharing, I felt each dish slapped you in the face rather then blending the flavors to end the evening with... Not what it's hype up to be. Terrible service, terrible food. Not worth a dinner out. Seems more like a local place than a tourist find.

My wife and I went to Ozumo this past week and had a meal fit for royalty. The apps were fantastic and the Sushi ws some of the best I have ever had. By the time the main courses arrived we had to dig deep to make a dent. We sat in the back which was very nice and the... More

Ozumo has a very nice atmosphere with excellent service. The servers were very helpful and informative. Unfortunately, the sushi rolls were not as good. The scallops had a "fishy" taste about them, which was a major put off. The sake selection is quite extensive and expensive.

Ozumo is a popular Japanese restaurant in a centrally located area with a menu of delicious and creative dishes. We enjoyed miso soup with mushrooms, one of the best cod dishes, a yummy octopus dish, several rolls, as well as a balanced, fruity and beautiful sake. And finally a Japanese restaurant that understands dessert- we ordered the flourless chocolate cake... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
