Good food, nice setting, so so service

I've eaten here at least a dozen times, mainly lunch with colleagues but the occasional dinner/drinks. The food is reliably excellent, good sushi, bentos, donburi, udon. On a couple of recent visits I found the wait staff to be inflexible and condescending ... Still, an excellent choice for... read more

This place was pretty fancy. I got the garlic edamame and ahi tuna and it was a decent proportion, but not big.

Located right in the Embarcadero district the restaurant provided great views of the Bay bridge from the dinning area. The restaurant is clearly located into two different sections. A bar/lounge area and a dinning area. The dinning area was nicely lit and situated around the sushi bar. Our waiter was very friendly but appeared a little over worked. He made... More

This place is pitch perfect - great ambience, super-friendly and professional staff, and excellent, creative menu. Be prepared to pay, but it is worth it. We eat a lot of Japanese - from very authentic, down-home, to high-end, and Ozumo is one of our favorites. Last night we splurged on some high-end sake flights, and it gave us some tastes... More

Went there with 2 Japanese friends to celebrate a birthday. Booked in Opentable, they didn't find our name. The place is large and overlooks the Bay. As we walked towards our table, I was looking at the cooks (open kitchen)....noticed a bunch of non-japanese guys in there. Call me whatever. But, I don't want to see brasilian cooks in an... More

Very enjoyable and easy find. So happy it's under my hotel! I had some edamame beans and a plate of rolls (I forget the name but they are with tuna and avocado and delicious!)

When visiting San Francisco, Sushi for dinner is a must. We heard about Ozumo from a San Francisco friend and decided to try it out. Little did we know that aside from great Sushi it has a wonderful view of the Bay Bridge, the water and some amazing boats. We had several Sushi newbies with us trying it out for... More

We went to Ozumo Restaurant. Spectacular decoration of the place. Nice food, wine. I was amazed of the large variety of sakes. The attention was excellent.

it was 9:30 PM we asked our concierge to call Ozumo and see if they were still serving and if we could sit at the sushi bar. She called and confirmed sushi bar was open and available. We jumped in a cab and were there in 5 minutes. Upon entering the manager told us there was a 20 minute wait... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
