My overall impression about this place was not bad at the beginning. We visited this place for voucher breakfast as a guests of Sir Francis Drake Hotel. We were not really keen of continental breakfast provided here, so we want to use of our 15 dollars voucher to use as a payment towards an american breakfast. That was not possible,... More

I tried Scalas Bistro tonight which was close to my hotel in Near Union Square, and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is Old World, with dark wood booths, tables and dimmed lighting. You will feel at home however you are dressed, from jeans and a t-shirt, to suit and tie or formal, and everything in between. The wait staff is... More

Great ambiance. My favorites the octopuss salad and the parpadelle with a red sauce with pig. Desserts are good

Was just at Scala for lunch between business meetings. Was completely blown away by the quality of the service, the execution of the food, and the value for price. I went with the prefix lunch menu which is a little more than I typically spend on lunch, but it was well worth it. The Soup of the day absolutely knocked... More

The restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. Relaxing atmosphere, incredible dishes and wonderful service. Everything from start to finish was perfection - our server, Enrique and the management was flawless. We are excited for our next stop in San Fran to experience Scala's once more!!

This is cozy restaurant, with soul and atmosphere. Connected with the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, serves the breakfast for the hotel guests. The menu is typical American, with some modifications. The service was prompt and professional. Positive experience.

Our family came across this lovely restaurant in walking distance from Hotel Nikko. We love Italian and Scala's was outstanding! Service was superb. The hostess was very friendly (joked around with my son which made him laugh) and guided us to a great table. Our server was knowledgable and very attentive. Food was delicious, and; since this is authentic Italian,... More

We ate here recently on a Friday night and could not have been more pleased. We were seated promptly for a 7:15pm reservation. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The restaurant definitely has the bistro vibe and was noisy at times but I chalk that up to it being a lively restaurant on a busy Friday night.... More

Perfect for us as jet-weary travelers, the evening of our arrival, as it was just a block from our hotel. Ordered a variety of just "starters": oysters, octupus salad, and butternut squash ravioli with roasted brussel sprouts. Delightful.

Ate here for the first time for lunch this past Sat. I had the chicken Panini with Sweet potatoe tater tots. They were the best part of the meal. Service was friendly and efficient. The only negative is that the bathrooms are located on another floor and you need to take a elevator to get there. Then there is only... More
