Amazing food, ambience, and service :) The food is superb and they also have an excellent wine list. We LOVE this place so much! We will definitely be back! :)

My wife and I followed the recommendation of Oliva, receptionist at the Inn of Union Square, and we had the best dinner of our San Francisco stay! Delicious cold, crisp, Caesar salad followed by homemade ricotta-filled ravioli: half with lemon cream sauce and half with delicious marinara sauce (because my wife wanted a taste of each!) and it was exquisite,... My husband and I visited Scala's on consecutive nights on a recent trip to San Francisco. The first night had been such a great experience, we decided to return the very next evening, but were a bit disappointed. There is no doubt the food is great, overall atmosphere is loud but fun, but the real difference between a fantastic experience... More

The restaurant itself is a lovely setup, the service is the issue we had. The waiter acted as though it was hard work for him to do his job. I think it's because we were tourists as a table next to us got much better service from the same server. I'm not sure if he thought he was being funny... More

I don't normally like "hotel" restaurants, this one was extremely busy the entire time we were staying so we decided to try it. The food was very good. Our waiter kept disappearing and others seemed to cover his tables so the service was not great. It is very noisy so if you are hoping to hold a converstion you may... More

Great food, great atmosphere, very very central location. what more could you want. Try the halibut. I met a friend I hadn't seen for 2 years and it was the perfect place. Not cheap but worth it

This meal for ten on a Sunday night was a combination of our daughter in law's birthday, relatives in from out of town, and friends in from another country. Plus, we needed to be close to Union Square. Having never been there before, I was worried that Scala's would be the right fit. Thankfully, it was just right and we... More

Yummy food. Amazing, friendly bar staff. Great wine. They let us taste several wines before choosing. AMAZING Marscapone Panna Cotta. Pricey but we had a great fun experience.

We've been here before but it's been a few years so we were hoping it was still as good as the memory ... it was! Perfect classic cesaer, Moules and Frites, house made noodles one with clams the other with crab and english peas. Oh my!!! I wish we had room for dessert! Great service. Scala's was our default breakfast place, since we stayed in the Sir Francis Drake. Service was excellent, as was every dish we ordered. If you go for dinner, ask to be seated in the wine room, as the evening noise is high.
