We come out here every year for a trade show. This hotel was only steps away from our hotel, JW Marriott Union Square. First of all loved the decor! Waiter was extremely attentive and gave detailed descriptions of his recommended dishes. Everyone's meal was delicious and beautifully presented. Price was reasonable for a group of nine (about $100/person) for appetizers,... More

Thank heavens for Happy Hours in the USA. It's a chance to get some decent quality food at reasonable prices. After being "burgered out", Farallon provided a pleasant chance to sit in an ambient restaurant, and order a selection of small dishes, accompanied by affordable margaritas ($6 USD). The slider was delicious (also $6 USD), as were the oysters, presented... More

After several years, we decided to return to Farallon which has always been an excellent spot for great seafood while in San Francisco. And we were not disappointed. We had a variety of raw oysters for starters. Farallon uniquely provided a "cheat sheet" listing the various oysters we had ordered - it is often difficult to remember what is what... More

This is a hard review to write - the wine was good, the menu varied, the food good, service good but something seemed missing from the evening. I don't know if it was the atmosphere but it just felt flat and not a "great dining experience". I wouldn't say "don't go" if you have your heart set on it, but... More

I have to qualify this review. I'm not one to get all excited about high end restaurants or hotels. I've never been much of one for over priced restaurants that fall all over themselves for presentation. When presentation becomes more important than taste, the enjoyment of a restaurant is lost. I realize that many people love this type of restaurant... More

Great atmosphere and excellent food……It’s pricey, but everything in Fisco is……I had the halibut and it was excellent……I’d strongly suggest reservations….I’ve only eaten downstairs, but it seems a little small and is usually very busy…..

If you are an event planner - Farallon is an excellent location for your private dining events. I hosted a very successful dinner party in the Ostera room. The staff was awesome. I used Carlos for the flowers and they were sublime!

The fabulous underwater decor and theme is beautiful, right down to the nautilus backs on the dining chairs - a gorgeous room. And the food is equal to the visual experience. All topped of with casual efficient and friendly service. This is the place for a special occasion!

Upscale seafood restaurant in union square area. My wife and I dined here and very much enjoyed it. They selected a nice reasonably price wine. You can spend a lot, but you don't have to. The atmosphere is comfortable and not too loud. A little dressier than other fs restaurants.

Very good all round - food, service, decor, staff. Everyone in our group was very satisfied with their meals. Fish and seafood was fresh and prepared perfectly. Servings were a bit small and needed more substantial sides. Prices are somewhat high, but worth it for what you get and being downtown SF. Wines are overpriced, but we did find something... More
