Seafood fresh from the ocean

Starting with a platter of fresh oysters, our meal was delicious! I had the halibut with gnocchi. My wife and a friend had the king salmon and another friend had the cod. All the meals were prepared just right and the seasoning was unbelievable. We had sides of scallops and seafood ravioli to... read more

Wonderful decor, great food, theatrical atmosphere. This is a very lovely restaurant in central San Francisco. Pricey but the whole package is very good.

Great location, ambiance and seafood. Wine list was good and had lots of half bottles and wines by the glass to match with the food.

Last night our hotel recommend Farallon and made reservation for us. The meal was one of the BEST we have eaten The royal patter, sole and Mt Lassen trout was to die for. Plus the wine paired with the meal was delicious The service was excellent . The restaurant was very beautiful. When we are back in San Francisco we... More

My husband and I were staying overnight in San Francisco on a Sunday night and we wanted to walk to very nice seafood dinner from the Westin at Union Square. Actually a tall order mainly because of the Sunday requirement. Turns out that Farallon was a two block walk. The restaurant is highly stylized with grand chandeliers fashioned after octopus... This is a very stylish fish restaurant by Union Square. I didn't even notice it on several business trips when I was staying at the J W Marriott a few doors away, because it has a very narrow street front, so am glad you are looking at reviews to pick where to go :-) Very well-informed and discreet service. Super... More

Not only does Farallon offer magnificent food, it is an exquisite looking place. Although pricey, it was no more expensive than a couple of other places we had chosen, but the food was so much better. There were so many wonderful offerings, it was hard to choose - and my palate is not that of a foodies by any means.... More

This is a place well done. Every aspect is attractive but not schmaltzy in their seafood themed decor. And everything from bread to desert was very fresh. Our party of six arrived at six without a reservation. Granted is was midweek but we were greeted warmly without a fuss. For an appetizer we had the large Fruits de Mar and... More

Farallon is back! On this recent visit to the raw bar, all the glitter, excitement and simple sublimity of the restaurant’s Golden Age at the height of the dot-com boom was in high gear. Apart from the few happy tourists at the bar, patrons were actually dressed--as in ladies with jewels and men with ties! The quirky underwater décor a... More
