The ambience is lovely. The food presentation is very nice. However, the food was not flavorful and the prices were too expensive. I don't mind paying that price if the food is great. We were disappointed. The concierge at the Four Seasons recommended it. There are so many better restaurants. Do not waste your money here.

a true gem off Union Square. upscale restaurant with super professional service all around, from host to bar to waitstaff to bus to sommelier: not one complaint. they are always prepared to go out of their way to make you feel good about being their guest, esp. repeat guest. this time, as a token of appreciation of our patronage, we... This USED to be our favorite SF restaurant..wow, has it gone downhill. We had a performance at 6:30 (I Love Lucy) to make so we made a 5:00 reservation. We arrived a little before 5 and unnecessarily kept waiting til 5:05. There were only a handful of couples at that time and our waiter was friendly however it all went... More

Fantastic place very trendy and nouvelle. Interesting menu with a lot of choices. Did have seafood plate and it was great. Nice vine list. Definitely one of the best places in SF.

We ate at the Farallon which came highly recommended by the concierge at the Ritz Carlton. The décor is quite fun with interesting light fixtures and other cool touches. The service was just okay and the food was totally disappointing. My fish was dry and the accompanying sides were flavor less. My wife got tuna which was at first undercooked... More

This is a high end restaurant in downtown San Francisco serving seafood and traditional menu. We had a seafood platter with oysters, lobster, crab and shrimps. All very fresh. After that a very good tasting bisque. Service was very efficient and correct. The environment is beautifully decorated, in keeping with the seafood specialty. Price is high end too, but not... More

Here with a 12-year old grandson, and wanted to take him to a nice place near our hotel. Great seafood (I had shellfish platter and striped bass) and atmosphere, but it was a crowded night and the service was much too slow for a pricey establishment. Grandson fell asleep after main course!

Thus place is well known and had a pretty good menu. A little pretentious but not bad. Enjoyed the trout. The bisque was pretty bland.

Sad to say, waste of money bad service and so so food. made reservation for a table for 2 birthday, arrived at restaurant and mentioned birthday, when we sat server said I just found out it was your birthday, happy birthday and then in all went down hill. Server suggested poor selection of oysters, ignored us, finally came back to... More

I preface this review by saying I am not a huge seafood fan. I don't hate it but would much prefer a steak. So this is the best seafood meal I have ever had (barring Stone crab claws which I always get if available). First: the restaurant is beautiful with millions of dollars of unique glassworks with sea themes including... More
