Very nice

There is absolutely nothing to complain about it. Great staff, original and wonderful deco and great food. Absolutely delicious. We tasted the 18 year celebration menu with the wine pairing and we're delighted. 4 star only because we couldn't eat through the a la carte menu. (Personally, I thought... read more

First time posting because I'm still upset about my experience. My boyfriend picked this place based on the menu selection. Made reservations and were seated at a nice table. Initially, the waiter seemed nice. Ordered a martini, salad and entree. Boyfriend had 6 oysters, soup and entree. Food was pretty good. Waiter was terrible. I am not a paranoid person... More

For the price that I was paying, I would have expected a better reception from the receptionists. We drove hours to visit SF and decided upon this restaurant since we could not make it to another restaurant that I previously made arrangements before. As soon as we entered, we were coldly received and were forced to stand there waiting while... More

The decor is beautiful, and the food is good for a Union Square restaurant. But holy smokes! The up-sell is horrible, and constant. It seemed clear to all 6 of us that the wait staff, the wine guy, and pretty much anyone we came into contact with, tried to convince us to to order a more expensive appetizer, salad, main... More

This was my first trip to San Francisco my husband was born in California, so this was a treat for me. The décor is the first thing you see as you walk in everything relates to the sea, amazing light fixtures like jellyfish and others like mother of pearl inside, it was wonderful. The kitchen is open and we could... More

Perfect for a celebration, gourmet dinner! We didn't have a reservation for a mid-week supper, but they quickly found us a nice table. Started with a flight of oysters, all tasting super fresh and each with a distinct flavor (as described by our helpful server.) Then, a mixed salad with local strawberries. Sommelier was happy to guide our wine choice... More

There is nothing in my opinion to dislike. It is what fine dining should be. The atmosphere is fanciful with a theater kitchen. The bread is scrumptious. Staff are 5 star. If it is on the menu it is good. If you want to splurge try the Fruits de Mer appetizer. My wife dined on the lobster and when it... More

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge of our hotel. So glad I asked. We made our own "tasting menu" with caviar, lobster, oysters, soft shell crab, fish (halibut and salmon and halibut with a prawn something I between) for main and sorbet to finish. A. Mazing. Waiter was a little pushy. Wanted us to order fast. But the food... More

We enjoyed the nice, romantic setting at the restaurant which was recommended by our hotel concierge. One disappointment was our appetizer of scallops had just one scallop! Definitely not great for sharing an appetizer! Other than that the portion sizes were decent, food was good and presentation great. Service was excellent - we counted about 8 different people had come... More
