Find a place at the long counter. Get a surly waiter (all of them) it's part of the experience. Most of the waiters die on the job. Tadich Grill has been serving SF for over 130 years with the best food anywhere. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. You'll find people from 'round the world at the bar, and everybody... More

Tadich Grill takes one back to an old San Francisco style restaurant. It has a long U shaped wooden counter as well as tables along the perimeter. It has lots of atmosphere, lots of noise and really good food. They do not take reservations, so one must go early and wait, standing, with a drink in hand until your name... More

Tadich Grill is a small sized restaurant with good food. It feels however it is stuck several decades ago and as such, it is good if you want to go and think of the "good old times". We enjoyed wine with dinner, appetizer of seafood cocktail and filet mignon for dinner. Service had that "old school service touch" and was... More

This turn of the 20th century restaurant takes you back in time. Old wooden tables and chairs, with white table cloths, waiters in white vests, a wooden bar, and great food. My favorite place to eat in THE CITY. They don't take reservations so you may have to wait, but you do so in a crowded bar area with a... More

Three of us went there for dinner because we get told from the hotel front desk. We ordered salmon and crab a la Newburg Served over rice, salmon and bay shrimp creole, and seafood cioppino with garlic bread. Food was good but very big portion and expensive. We paid 100$ for 3 dishes and we couldn't finish if. You can... More

We walked in on a Friday night at about 7 and were offered a table immediately provided our entire party was there. We were and so we were seated directly. It's reminiscent of what city restaurants looked like a century or more ago, long, somewhat narrow, with dark woods for the bar and around the dining area. Martinis were potent... More

Ate at Tadich grill on 12/6/14. We ordered the calamari (ok) and the fried seafood platter (also ok)and for dessert the bourbon bread pudding which was delicious. The food was good. Service was a little slow but overall pleasant.

The Tadich Grill is the oldest restaurant in San Francisco, as well as one of the three oldest in the country. The staff was wonderful, friendly and professional, and the food...........WOW!! Really unbelievably wonderful. I had the Chilean Sea Bass, which was the best I have ever had. We also had minestrone soup. I want the recipe, but doubt THAT... More

Went there for dinner on a Monday night, and was fairly active. When you first walk in, I was a bit thrown off because ifs very long, but not so wide of a type of place. Old bar off to the right with plenty of seats, however, again, you up against the right wall which makes it a bit odd.... More

this is by far one of the places you must go when in SFO. Our family has been going here for 40 years and the food has always been Excellent and fresh off the boat.
