Exceptional food and good service. The prices are what you'd expect for a good seafood restaurant, $20-40 depending on what you order. I was visiting from out of town and had a crab lobster casserole entree which was amazing! Definitely a great place worth going to.

It is so old school S.F. that is almost brings tears to our eyes every time we enter the doors and see the counter on the left and the aisle that leads past some window seats to the little intimate tables and booths on the other side of the counter. The mirrors against the partition reflect the diners and a... More

Went there for dinner at 7:30 and was seated within 20 minutes. We were a little concerned about the wait since they don't take reservations. They certainly exceeded my expectations! Yes it is noisy but that's all part of the atmosphere. All employees wearing white lab coats making you feel you were in some early 20's establishment. What to eat????... More

Nothing like a huge long counter, lots of worn wood glistening from years of buffing and serving great drinks and food without pretension and fuss. The bar tenders are thoughtful and friendly and food is superb. The history of the grill is a very interesting story and adds to the charisma. Must not miss this when in San Francisco.

We had dinner last night and our expectations were exceeded. The drinks were good and reasonably priced at $9.00. The Tadich platter appetizer is a great sampling of seafood for a starter. We shared the very thick squid steak with butter sauce and completed the meal with Tadich's rice custard. The food and service is excellent and the price better... More

We visited the Tadich with our son and his girlfriend to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and were'nt disappointed. We waited at the bar for a table. Drinking expertly made cocktails and watching the busy barman and waiters. We love the atmosphere, noise and vibrancy of this place. The food and wine were very good. We last visited in 2004... The seafood is wonderful and the atmosphere is old San Fran. It is expensive and if you don't go early there will be lines. The sand dabs were very light and tasty. Drinks are reasonable.

Went back to Tadich Grill after several years and unfortunately a restaurant I have loved in the past was not enjoyable. We were waiting for our table at the bar for about 30 minutes and the stewards at around the bar were shouting a guest name every 2-5 minutes, by the time our name came up our ears were ringing... You may have to wait and if so you can observe other diners totally enjoying their food. We opted to sit at the counter (it's comfortable because the stools have backs) and you can watch the controlled chaos. We had the clam chowder (fabulous) and the Petrale Sole. Every single bite was exquisite. Our waiter was attentive and efficient. It... More

Tadich Grill is a San Francisco institution. All the waiters are semi-gruff men, decked in white jackets, who despite their perennial grumpiness manage to make you feel welcome, even when dining alone. Tadich is known for their petrale sole, served grilled or pan fried, with yummy homemade tartar sauce, veggies that aren't much to write home about, and good sourdough... More
