This place was crazy good. The staff were phenomenal, such passion and pride and so knowledgeable. Started off with some starters and a wonderful white wine recommended by our server Ashley. We then had the sea bass, lamb chops, and calamari. It was all delicious, but we had a local with us who knew about the goat stew, it is... More

My wife and I love this place & its sister restaurant Evvia in Paly. The braised octopus is to die for. Their lamb shank - Wow! The rotisserie meats, whether pork, lamb or on rare occasions goat -- double Wow. Decent wine list and by the glass. Can't say enuf about this place.

We dined at this restaurant on our first night in San Francisco and it was fabulous. The decor was so charming and authentic and the restaurant was lively and energetic. Our server was very charming and we enjoyed the wine and the ambiance. We ordered various tapas plates and the food was fantastic. I have nothing but great things to... More

Superb food, beautiful building inside and out, good drinks, and whole lambs on the rotisserie in the wood burning fireplace add up to the real dining experience.

Very good atmoshere and well known to the SF dining community. We lived in the neighborhood and never tired of the food. You always see cabs pulling up to drop people off here. Try it!

Went with a friend. The service was great and the food was even better. Highly recommend to those looking for a place to eat downtown close to everything.

Food was great. We had to wait a little while even though we had reservations. The food was very good and we had a nice booth by the window.

Service was terrific: knowledgeable, friendly without being familiar. A professional wait-staff you seldom find anymore in the US. The setting is fabulous: the roaring fire, the open kitchen, the European windows, the wood throughout. We had the zucchini fritters and the octopus, the two biggest selling appetizers. The fritters with the tzakiki were great. The octopus was very good but... More

I was on my own in SanFrancisco and this is always a little dismal but decided to try the number one rated restaurant on Tripadvisor in SanFrancisco. I did not have reservations and sat at the bar and had appetizers recommended by the delightful bar man. He recommended a variety of tastes and they were all very unusual and delicious.... More

This venue was about what I expected. Nothing wrong with it but not as outstanding as reviews would lead one to believe. Big, lots of staff and a pleasant bustle about it., but hardly for foodies. Probably good for business or large groups
