Good find

Very reasonable prices, great food and fast service. I would have given 5 stars EXCEPT the bathrooms were disturbingly filthy, the gutters and alleys were indeed cleaner!

We are from NY and This was a stop walking through Chinatown. We saw a sign that said no MSG (My dad is allergic) and went for it. There was a continuous crowd coming in and out of here. The dumplings were delish we had 2 servings. The staff was so nice asking how "HOTT" we wanted our dish. Highly... More

Took the family here for dinner for the first time. The interior is clean with enough space to fit a few large parties and my family of five. Never had Hunan style before, but was so happy we stopped. Great smokey and spicy flavors, just the way I like it. Pricing is in the middle of the scale and worth... More

At lower edge of Chinatown, Brandy Ho affordably treats the palate with delicious Hunan-style eats (no MSG!). Located on Columbus just below North Beach's famous City Lights Bookstore, #8 Muni bus stops directly across the street. Atmosphere here is all about the food, with busy kitchen staff visible to all. "Heat level" of every dish is adjusted to each customer's... More

Love this place, I am a SF Native and of all the restaurants in this city this is one of my Favs! They just opened a tiny Full Bar next to the Resto. Stop in for a Pop! Stay for some Deep fried Dumplings!

Ate here twice over one week & recommend it as a diner-style, brightly lit restaurant with really tasty dishes. The service is efficient & the server checks on how hot (spicy) you like your food when taking orders. Very fair price for perfectly sized portions & environment. Try the salt & pepper calamari, soooo tasty.

No MSG is why we went. Had a reservation but they acted like we didn't until I told them who I had spoken to on the phone. Food is pretty good..not greasy and large portions. Wait staff is very rude and just kind of grunts and acts like they don't speak English...they do.

Read the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to try it out with the family. The place was fairly busy but we were immediately seated and our order taken. We had the fried dumplings, honey prawns, generals chicken, chow mein & fried rice, all of which were very good. The portions are fairly big so we took the rest home with... More

One night in SFO we were exhausted from walking around all day (the last two miles completely uphill to our hotel) and we wanted food delivery. Our concierge recommended Brandy Ho's. They were quick, friendly, and the food was great. I would call it more american-chinese style, but still the food was way better than any american-chinese food that I... More

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighborhood decorated with colorful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighborhood.
