Eight of us were celebrating a special birthday last night, in the private room. The debacle started when the server dropped a drink on the birthday person. Then followed an abominable experience, never to be repeated. It was clear that the diwnhill slide began when the tiny glass of wine was served. Aside from being absurdly overpriced, the atartera were... More

We used to love this restaurant. But we had a birthday party for a family member that was characterized by (1) waiter spilling a drink on two members of the party (and breaking the glass on the floor), (2) serving only half the dinners with more than 5 minute wait to serve the remainder of the party, (3) 2 of... May 22th we went for a drink at Boulevard. We sat at the bar and ordered two glasses of Prosecco. When the bartender was pouring the wine I noticed something red on the side of one glass and brought it to his attention but he put the wrong glass aside and continued pouring and then served us the drinks. Pooled... More

Had a business dinner here last week and absolutely loved this place. Reminded me of a 1920's era spot, retro chic. Got a great table with lovely view of the Bay Bridge. The food was awesome, from appetizers through dessert. Our server was great, helpful and knowledgeable with a good sense of humor. The cocktails were superb (we had the... More

Super yummy, but super expensive. Worth it though for our daughter's college graduation celebration. Very good service too!

The Boulevard is near the Embarcadero and has become one of our favorite lunchtime destinations when walking about the waterfront. It is a beautiful restaurant made to look old with brick and a beautiful bar.

Our first time at Boulevard was last year to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was so memorable that she wanted to repeat the experience this year. I enthusiastically consented and we were both rewarded with a fabulous meal, the amazing ambiance and one heck of a server named Dennis.

I cannot recommend sitting at the chefs table highly enough! We stopped by for dinner without a reservation. We were offered seats at the chefs table and was able to watch the meals being prepared while we enjoyed some wonderful dishes. We started with a crab salad and a ahi tuna dish, followed by a soft shelled crab and porcini... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
