Everything they said it'd be!

Reviews of Mo's by locals and tourists alike made this a great little place for the preteens to experience dinner in a real "diner". Food was very good and service fantastic. Everything you want the neighborhood place to be as you explore the North Beach neighborhood.

Wandered in to this little gem on a Sunday evening with a party of 8. The food was delicious. Cold beers and milkshakes for the teenagers. Only one waitress on this evening but she did her absolute best to service the entire establishment. I'm definitely coming back.

I love my adopted city for sure, but it's difficult to find what we New Yorkers would call a "normal" coffee shop or diner. But Mo's - recently recommended by friends in the neighborhood - is the real thing. Veggie omelet was packed with spinach, etc. Coffee is passable. And they don't fuss about making you a plate of eggs... More

I like this place. It has a 60s diner ambiance and a good vibe. I owned a coffee shop in Old Town Portland for 10 years and I can tell you that this place is run by professionals. Breakfast was great. No disappointments.

This city has a lot of good breakfast joints. In fact, I was off to Mama's this morning but alas, they are closed on Mondays. I headed back towards the hotel and opted to find something new and went one block off of Columbus. I saw Mo's and thought " Why not?" The food was excellent and there is a... More

The Mo's Grill has everything you would wish for! A nice selection of beers and a decent grill menu. I went for the California burger which was amazing! Ice cold beer on the side and friendly staff made this place an instant favourite!

Not much I can say other than this being the best burger place I have visited in a long time. Nice setting, sort of like old style diner. Ginormous burgers. Delicious!

My wife and I found this place simply by walking by it during one of our morning walks during our recent trip to San Fran in September. We're always looking for a good breakfast place and when we looked in the window and saw the breakfast potato's on the griddle, we decided to come back. OMG! The food was awesome.... More

My husband and I ate breakfast here after being unable to get a table at another restaurant nearby, and on recommendation from the staff there. We were a bit short on time and very pleased to find that it was quick, reasonably priced and decent quality food. Probably not somewhere that's worth making a special trip to but definitely somewhere... More

Very Good Salad needs to be renamed to the Excellent Salad. It has fresh avocado, pear, fresh, fresh, fresh. Just what you want after snacking your way across San Francisco! Hubby had Tuna Melt which he said was great, too. Being on East Coast body time, we were there for "dinner" about 5:00. They must do a huge take out... More

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
