We walked till we found the right spot for a burger. Not many of them in North Beach because there all an amazing amount of Italian restaurants in North Beach. Could tell from the window as we passed.. the best circular grill with buns and hamburgers cooking , mmm we're going in. The best, the best, hamburger I have eaten... More

Staying on Vallejo Street this was our local, providing you didn't mind the steep climb up and down. My teenage sons loved the burgers and I thought the chicken pitta was fab. Clearly loved by the locals including the local police, with plates piled high, great fresh food cooked to order and fast service. Oh and fairly reasonable too.

This funky neighborhood burger place is friendly and easy. The burgers are substantial, the buns are fresh and toasted to perfection. Fries are plentiful and the chipotle mayo is spicy. nothing fancy, just good food at a good price.

I had the Californian omelet and it was awesome! Kids had the pancakes, they were very good! Portions were huge, you won't leave hungry!

A small but comfortable burger joint. Great choices and good service makes this a good place to satisfy appetites craving a good burger and malt.

Hands down best blueberry pancakes I've ever had. Goodness me I wish I could replicate the recipe. Great place to start the day!

We veered off the main street of San Francisco's Little Italy - one block to this awesome breakfast spot! Friendly service and great food! We would return anytime!

Get ready for a big meal - these burgers are delicious and cooked to perfection over fire. Great fries - good service. The buns are too big and are perhaps 50% of the burger. A simple dining area, open kitchen where you see your meal being prepared. A simple, nice place for a good burger.

Thank Hanna P

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
