Everything You Want in a Chinese Restaurant

Just what we hoped for -- delicious chinese fare, iconic atmosphere, stereotypical brusk but efficient chinese service.

Homey atmosphere where you could bring family. Mooshu pork was tasty. Green beans were spicy enough. Service was efficient. We would return.

Clearly this place is popular and it was packed the whole time I ate here with my friends. They didn't rush us though. We ate several dishes that were very good. Nice garlic chicken, excellent pot stickers!! Very good hot and sour soup! Had the eggplant and chicken dish, think it was a garlic sauce. A couple of shrimp dishes... More

Amazing lunch and great deal. Loved the hot and sour soup. Ambiance is very clinical but food and service makes up for it! Definitely a MUST GO! I'll be there on my next trip!

This restaurant came highly recommended by a colleague. It was, well, OK. Given all the restaurants in SF chinatown I would definitely be interested in trying a different one next time. Satisfactory, but far from the best and a little disappointing considering it was SF chinatown.

Very small portions. Not very authentic. Mostly tourists eating there. Don't understand the high Yelp reviews. Very fast service even if curt.

My husband had read the reviews for this restaurant before coming on vacation and boy am I glad he did! We have 3 children so we have a party of 5 and everyone found food that they really enjoyed. My daughter and I ordered off the Plan C (includes apps, soup and 2 entrees-orange peal chicken and sisling beef). My... More

We saw this restaurant was rated highly on trip advisor and so went to get a table. We were told it was an hour wait but to come back in 40 minutes. Although hungry, we agreed. We came back 42 minutes later and our table had been given away as we were late. We were told we could have the... More

We did a walking tour of Chinatown and wanted to find a restaurant to eat dinner at and this one was close and well rated. My wife and myself shared the Type B family dinner. I like real hot and my wife likes a bit hot. The balance of heat in the meal was perfect for us. The Hunan Spiced... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighborhood decorated with colorful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighborhood.
