I have to agree with other reviews on this restaurant. It was a nice restaurant with very good Chinese food at a reasonable price. The wait staff was fun and attentive. The Prawns with walnuts were very good. We shared four different dishes which were all delicious. more

We were in Chinatown and wanted to order some takeout. We had heard about Hunan Home's and thought we'd give it a shot. Very glad we did! Staff were very pleasant and food was prepared quickly. Went here several times during our visit to SF. Great place in Chinatown. Excellent food fast service and a price you cant beat in SF. A very relaxing place to eat and always a pleasant atmosphere. Try the spicy eggplant with pork...wow !! We will be definitely going back in our next visit.. more

We found this place almost 15 years ago on our first trip together to San Francisco via recommendation from the hotel. As anyone who has been to SF Chinatown can attest, restaurants there are as plentiful as flies on a garbage truck. It can be a daunting task to select just one to visit. After all, you have limited time... more

Ambiance somewhat underelaborated, but very friendly and enthusiastic staff and - more importantly - well executed dishes. Try the shrimp in shell done in spicy salt! more

I live on the east coast, but travel to San Francisco at least once a year. I discovered Hunan Homes almost 20 years ago and it has always been excellent. On an early visit I left my credit card there, and by the time I got home there was a message from them telling me it was safe. Highly recommended! more

This place was great. We had reservations at another place in China Town and the reviews didn't look so good so thanks to this site I found Hunan Home's and was thrilled that I did. The food was excellent with great prices. Awesome service. The place was packed with locals and I would absolutely come back. Thanks Tripadvisor! more

Great service, great food, great value. We recently were in San Francisco and visited Hunan Home's three times in as many days. Call me a fool, but it is that good. It really is the best.
