Lively, friendly and (mostly) tasty

Premise:I'm an italian expat relocated in SF and this is the only place I had something tasting like in Italy. Location: not bad, the venue is small but the waiters and the owner have solutions for every kinda group. Not suggested for romantic meeting...the venue is small and make result some noisy Food: there is only one word to describe... More

After searching high and low for some good eats, we stumbled across this quaint Italian restaurant. We ordered freshly made pasta with meat sauce, margarita pizza, and capri salad. The food was wonderfully cooked and the wait staff, whom were all from Italy, were an absolute trip to converse with- even the owner ( true Italian) made conversation with us and... Really nice meal with authentic italian flavours served by a friendly helpful staff in a casual no frill setting. The proschuto and ruccolo pizza had a crisp base and the pasta dishes were great. Th

Found this place during a one night stopover in San Francisco. In short, it is superb! The place was packed, with barely any space between tables, but you never felt cramped... It just gave a good (busy) home feeling. Food was top notch and a good selection of wines offered. Service was personal and friendly even when so busy. This... More

I was shopping at a cloths store in the area and asked one of the employees if they had a favorite restaurant in the area. She told us about this place . We had soup, salad and a sandwich for lunch. It was a great lunch, everything fresh and tasty . I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking... More

Have reservations, its a small restaurant. (Expansion coming next door in future) I called ahead for reservations and left a message. They open at 6 and didn't call back. When I called around 5:30, they were already booked, but they told me they'd squeeze us in. I ordered pizza and bruschetta, fantastic! Husband had raviolis. Excellent dinner. The family/owners knew... More

We ordered the diavola pizza for takeout & it was pretty good. Nothing standout amazing but it was pretty good value for the $15 price. Sizewise it was smaller than expected but inline for the price.

The staff at Pazzia Caffe and Trattoria are very friendly and helpful. The pasta and pizza are fresh and very tasty. I had the margherita pizza which was very good. If you like Italian food, I'd highly recommend that you try Pazzia. It's the best restaurant within a few blocks of the convention center.

Pasta was excellent but all food looked delicious. Our waiter Rocko had great recommendations. All the staff were great. Had a very enjoyable meal. Did not have to wait for reservations but that will change when others find this hidden gem.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
