A great place to dine near Mascone Center. Food is excellently prepared and sent to the table with great service. All their food is seasoned well and fresh. My only complaint would be the high noise level.

On a fairly busy block of Third Street lives Pazzia Restaurant & Pizzeria, a casual, yet charming, Italian restaurant. The decor of the dining room is nothing to write home about, but one does not go to Pazzia to be in awe of the art on the walls; one goes to experience some artful Italian home cooking. The rich, fresh... More

This restaurant was recommended to me by an Italian client of mine. Loved our first experience, and since then (for the past few years), we make it a point to eat there every chance we get! A small restaurant (an expansion is in the works), it has an incredible warmth about it. This is partly due to the owner Massimo... More

The lasagna, the pizza, the complimentary bread was all amazing! However, what sets this place apart from the rest is the owners involvement with the customers, and how he works with his staff! He's attentive to everyone and does everything he can to speed up service from cleaning tables bringing food and asking if you need anything else!

Delicious Italian food, home made pasta and great friendly service. Very busy the night we went but the service was excellent. Recommend reserving but I noticed the owner did his best to try to accommodate. Reasonably priced Italian wines. The food was tremendous.

Our party of arrived right when they opened. Our first impulse was to sit inside so we wouldn't have to talk over the street noise, and because it might get a bit too cool. However, it was hot and stuffy inside so out we went. Good choice - the street noise was just fine, and we seemed to be protected... More

I came to this wonderful place in 2013 during a VMWorld conference. I loved it so much when I came back this year I had to go back. The food is out of this world. If you want Italian, in San Francisco this is the real deal. Best Italian I have had in my life. The owner Massimo is a... More

I have eaten in many places and many countries and never had this bad experience. It just ruined our whole dinner. We got our food and spices normally, but then realised we didn't have any cutler. So we had to especially ask waitress to bring them. We neither had napkins and had to ask for those too. Waitress seemed very... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
