We saw the line. It was long. It was Tuesday. I looked at my pregnant wife who was about to eat my hand and we decided we'd be the first in line on Wednesday morning. I believe that's the secret. Don't get me wrong. We still waited about 40 minutes. We were in line by 7:40 and sat down after... More

Don't get me wrong - the food and service here was fantastic. I had the Northern Italian M'omelette and carrot cake - YUMMM! The servers were prompt and very friendly. My big question - was it worth an hour wait outside, then an additional 20-25 minute wait for ordering and getting a seat? Quick answer: no If you do decide... More

I waited an hour (from the time I lined up until the time I got my food). It was good but, for me it was not worth the wait. I had a veggie omelette, which came with their home fried potatoes and sourdough toast (from Boudin - which I love). It was good, but nothing to write home about. The... More

This small breakfast place is one of the required-by-law things to do in San Francisco, along with visiting Alcatraz and riding the cable cars. So, it's always busy. It opens at 8am and on weekends there is already a long line waiting. We walked by it on a Sunday morning and decided to come back on a weekday (closed Monday,... More

I hold the long line near the wall of the building and got hungry and hungry...finally the omelette was good, but it was different from the one I ordered. The place is small, the service nice but..it don't worth the long line...

We had a delicious breakfast here today. The short queue increased the anticipation. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The staff helpful and attentive. I had the corned beef hash benedict special with a fruit salad. Both were excellent. My wife had the vegetarian omelette. She said it was awesome. Highly recommended.

Decadently delicious breakfast with a charming atmosphere and delightful staff. This is a san Francisco institution and well worth the half-hour wait queuing outside.

We had a good breakfast at Mama's. It's a simple restaurant...nothing fancy. The food is very good. It seems to be quite popular because lines seem to occur frequently.

This place is to die for! Waited in line for 45 minutes on a Sunday morning. Well worth the wait. You wait in line outside to then wait in line inside. Once at the counter you place your order and pay. Very quickly you are then given a table. I do not know how they recall your order by your... More

We discovered this place while walking back to our hotel from climbing the steps to the Coit Tower. Both of us noticed the long line of folks waiting in line to be seated. I was so curious that I walked up to the couple at the head of the line and asked if the food was really that good. They... More
