The French toast is absolutely amazing! The best breakfast we had whilst in California! Long queue which is frustrating but it is worth waiting

We were keen to visit Mama's on our three week tour of the West Coast which we started in San Fransisco. We knew we needed to get to Mama's early because every travel guide we read online said to go to Mama's and to get there early. We got there at 7am on our first day (helped out by UK... More

it is a long wait to get in the place and it is small and the food was good and on your way to the table you get to see the fresh ingredients that they use .

We went Friday for breakfast, the line was looong...so we ended up getting an early lunch after 1 h and 45 min wait! The food was worth waiting for, my husband had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and spinach-omg so good! I had the french toast sampler, very good too! Did not feel rushed when we got in, such a... Before entering Mamas we stood in line outside for two hours. Not the greatest use of our time considering how short our visit to San Francisco was but once we ordered our food we completely forgot about the wait. The French toast was amazing, topped with chocolate and fresh berries. The meal was overpriced in my opinion, but the atmosphere... More

Tried to go to this amazing gem about two years ago and showed up about an hour too late. You will need to get there about seven am to have yourself the best breakfast in San Francisco. Hands down, I'm not kidding, this was worth the wait. It was worth enduring the noise of the jackhammers and asphalt eaters of... More

Some try to beat the rush by getting to Mama's before the doors open. But even if you have to wait, it's well worth it! The breakfast options are wonderful - all fresh, well prepared and delicious. Additionally, the staff are always friendly and very helpful. A tip for those who get there before the restaurant opens, bring a cup... More

I guess a good breakfast place is always hard to find, and when a lot of people like one place it turns into something bigger. we found this place thinking we was just going to go in and eat no way... as we walking up too the place I see this crazy line out the door this was on a... More

Maybe my midwestern sensibility is showing through... but don't get too excited folks. The wait was fun - great neighborhood to watch the people and square.. the service staff were wonderful.. the food was OK. Its an experience we had because we had the time. If you are on a tight schedule - you will be mad you waited.

How did this place get such a great reputation? After waiting more than 90 minutes of my life (talk about wasted time), our group of four ate but did not enjoy most of the items we'd ordered. I tried the 'seasonal' special Dungeness crab omelet at a price of almost $28. The price was shocking, but not as shocking as... More
