Food is great. But too many people waiting

We took a long-distance bus to get here, and lined up for almost one hour. The food is worthy waiting. We had one French Toast with fruits; another is Omelet egg roll. Both are Yummy! It's great for young guys who are willing to starve and line up for delicious food.

This place has a serious problem waiting time and they don't accept reservations. Just there on a Saturday or Sunday morning is painful as you will have to wait in line outside for ages just to be placed in another line inside. Food is good but it's not like you can't get it anywhere else...its standard brunch food. Eggs, bacon... More

So after my last review the managing asked me to consider trying them again. I obliged. I got up at 7am to make sure I could eat within a reasonable time. I waited patiently in line. I finally ate at 8:45am. I had a benedict, it was okay. The breakfast potatoes were burnt black and still served up. Really they... More

I was there a couple weeks ago for one last breakfast before leaving SF and chise this place because of the high ratings. The restaurant opened at 8am, we arrived at 8:10 and found a line outside the door. We waited about 20 minutes before we made it to the front door and were allowed in (they don't allow you... More

It was just too much. I waited for 80 minutes until I got a seat. It was same for everyone there. Most of them seem tourists as I was. My tour book introduced the place as the best breakfast cafe in san francisco and the must go venue. Perhaps the others read somewhat similar to be there. After the long... More

I'm famous among my group of friends as a big brunch fan, as I never miss brunches, specially when I travel. This place had an amazing menu including the seafood based omelettes and egg bennies that I had never had before. I strongly recommend it, however there is always a line up. The best way to secure your spot is... More

San Francisco has the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf and Mama's on Washington Square. Don't let the line scare you, it's worth the wait! Excellent place for a SF breakfast!

Pack your patience, the wait for this little South Beach find can be over an hour but is well worth it. The cranberry orange french toast was one of the best things I have eaten in a long time. Would definitely go back next time I am in town.

Brunch is my favorite meal, and I've waited just as long as we did on this trip (90 minutes!) for brunch before. However, we all felt that the food was good, not extraordinary. We tried five different items from the menu and liked everything, but we agreed we wouldn't wait in line to eat there again. Cute restaurant and friendly... More

I've been here twice and have never ordered from their regular menu. Because their specials usually include the seafood in season during that time. I had a dungeness crab omelette and crab cake benedict there. both delicious!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
