A common dinner spot for us when going in to S.F. for the theater is the Grand Cafe. A block up from the Curran, and with staff familiar with the "I've only got an hour" attitudes of theater goers, it's a great place. Decor is plush, with a few sculpture twist) and the food is delicious. Will return again and... More

We love coming here for the ambience. It is truly a grand experience. But, the breakfast menu is quite limited and even with a light crowd the service was marginal at best. If they are going for a French feel they nailed it. The good was expensive and delicious.

I am not a fan of giving feedback unless the establishment was five stars to me, but I'll give some tips regarding this establishment. My wife and I went for breakfast but the food was not good. Eggs were cold and potatoes were dry. The country bread and bagels were outstanding however. I thought the service was okay but not... More

A great place to have right at the Hotel Monaco. I kept meaning to venture further on my business trip out there, but couldn't seem to bother with the wonderful food and lovely service. Just great.

We ordered the Potato Gnoch. It was one of the most delicious meals we have eaten! Beautiful, large Restaurant! The Salad was Organic with a delicious, light dressing. The friendly Chef came over and served both items. Highly recommend.

Food has French inspiration, but not really has the sofistication and taste required to be worth the money

We had breakfast here once before in December 2013. That was good. This was not. Cold food dropped off at our table. No one came back to see how we were doing. Potatoes and sausage cold. Toast not really toasted. We had to walk over to hostess to complain. Eventually Manager came by our table, but just stared at us.... More

This restaurant is actually a chain associated with the uniquely decorated and delightful Kimpton Hotels. It's a bistro, but better. The atmosphere is a little more upscale than a true bistro. And the food, ditto. We ordered from the oyster bar with a glass of champagne. My husband had an eastern mediterranean salad with octopus, harissa and chickpeas which was... More

One visit as was staying close by and had to check out other neighbourhood restaurants. Feels like you've just walked into a banking hall, high ceiling and windows not really intimate enough for fine dining. Food wasn't really exceptional for what I paid, which is what you're really there for and not the overly grand interior? Waiter told me they... More

I really enjoyed the food here, it was very tasty and well presented. I was eating on my own though, and would have preferred more attention from the serving staff, and a table on the edge of the restaurant - which is what I asked for but didn't get. It seems most restaurants forget that business travelers (especially women) require... More
