I have fond memories of Zuni which includes meeting Judy many years ago. I have a doh eared copy of the cookbook and love the roasted chicken recipe. Having said that I was disappointed by a recent visit the first after Judy's untimely demise. Except for shoestring fries all dishes were disappointing - the burger and pizza were left half... More

Must haves: Clam Chowder Rabbit MahiMahi Great ambiance, we sat on the lower level next to the kitchen. Our server was well versed in the food language.

A friend of mine proposed me this iconic restaurant in the Market Street and I must admit, that everything in this restaurant complies with its reputation. Well trained and friendly service, good wine recommendation and of course excellent food. The visit was worth every penny we spend. To recommend without limitation.

My wife and I heard great things of this cafe but were disappointed. The ambience was cool with art displayed on walls but it was not romantic due to the noise level and servers constantly walking by us through the night. We ordered a $30 fish dish that was fresh but completely bland. Our polenta tasted just like grits with... More

This is a very special restaurant. I think I do understand why some people are not excited about Zuni Cafe: it's because of their very minimalistic, reduced to the core style of cooking, which at first sight lets you think: is THIS really it?! And then you try the food....and THAT's it, really! It's very impressive to see how much... More

Despite the recent loss of famed Chef Judy Rodgers, Zuni is as wonderful as ever. Casual fare and cocktails in the bar, more elegant fare in the dining room. Both options equally satisfying! Zuni has 4 classics that, to me, are irresistible. The polenta topped with a dollop of mascarpone is heaven. The caesar is perfect every time. Judy's roast... More

I'm not from San Francisco but when I'm in town I almost always meet up with friends here. It's been around for years and in my opinion has been a 5 star place the entire time. Whether we just hang at the bar or sit down for dinner, service is always friendly and never rushed. The food is outstanding and... More

Had dinner at Zuni again recently with a friend. We were dining light so I had the classic Zuni Cafe caesar salad (I swear, it's consistently been the best Caesar salad anywhere in the world for the decades I've been eating at ZC), polenta, and the flourless chocolate cake.It was all excellent, as it always has been at ZC. Keep... More

than eat at Zuni Cafe. Classic Italian, French and Mediterranean fare perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Superb oyster list. Excellent cocktails and wine list. Everything done right all the time. Some many delicious classics on the menu that you need to try them all, anchovies, Caesar, roast chicken, show strings etc. Truly one of the best restaurants in the country.

Our family of 7 visited this restaurant for dinner on December 28,2014. We were visiting San Francisco for a week and a local friend recommended this almost iconic restaurant to us. Long known for its good food and presumably just as good service. What an UGLY SURPRISE we were thrown into. The waitress in charge for our table upstairs, Jessica,... More
