Just left Zuni .. very disappointed. Was last there last year and it was ok but thought we would try it again. But no more. Duck almost warm on a cool plate for entree after 3 slices of prosciutto as an appetizer. And they charge for a refill of a diet coke. Same cool food for my guest with the... More

Have been wanting to go for years, prompted by the Chron's inclusion in its top 100 restaurants, Finally, dined here last night, and what a huge disappointment! The polenta appetizer my husband ordered was bland and tasteless even after he asked the waiter for additional parmesan. Our fish entrees were completely undistinguished with no sauce, a miniscule amount of accompanying... More

Zuni used to be the first place we would go for good food. i even used it a password for favorite restaurant for years. However the last two times were disappointing and make me think that it is slightly tired and living on its reputation. on our last visit, the food was just average and the service less so. Their... We have used Judy Rogers' roasted chicken recipe often since it was published in the NY Times several years ago. I was very sad to see that she had died last year and wanted to visit the home of such a great recipe. We were not disappointed with the roast chicken and bread salad. It was worth the 1 hour... On a rainy afternoon best place to enjoy a late lunch. We have dined here many a time but this was the most enjoyable experience. The restaurant was quite thanks to the Giants Parade. The seasonal offer in the Fall was very delicious. But great to have the old favorites. Be prepared for a slow pace and enjoy their bread... More

The ambiance of the Zuni Cafe is wonderful. Made up of two large rooms with lofts, it still manages to feel cozy. The food is good to excellent. My father's salmon was OK (not fabulous), but my onion soup and Caesar salad were divine! I plan to return and explore the menu more extensively next time!

Best roast chicken in California. The roast chicken takes about 45 minutes since they cook it to order but it's worth the wait. Order the chicken first but in the meantime enjoy some fresh oysters or a pizza. Great burgundy wine list to pair with the chicken as well.

This is one of the great San Francisco's staples for fine dining. The menu changes daily with the freshest ingredients your taste buds will ever experience. The bar is alive with San Francisco insiders from all walks of life. Their fire-roasted chicken is their signature dish; It's a 45 minute wait to prepare, but drinks, delectable appetizers and good conversation can... More

Sad indeed when a institution falls off its standard when the founding flame dies...hence was our experience recently there at one of my all time go-to foodie establishments. Bar service was friendlier than before with big rim-filled Martinis but regular mix drunks very weak. Oysters were some if the best in the city now pale to places like Saltwater. Skinny... More
