When my husband and I saw the old style "Elite" sign we knew it's been around for a while. The restaurant style is so close to jazz and New Orleans that they even served beignets! The gave out banana muffins instead a 'just bread'. We enjoyed their famous homemade biscuits with their whipped strawberry butter (which my husband is addicted... More

As visitors to this neighbourhood we walked past this restaurant and liked what we heard and saw. The cafe was busy and the sound of live music was captivating so we decided to make a reservation for an evening meal. We were definitely not disappointed. We sat in one of the private booths and enjoyed a delicious meal while listening... More

A Cajun theme restaurant with an active bar. Very casual. Reservations would be recommended. The oysters were fresh and fantastic. The wait staff was excellent. I had a blackened pork chop that was one of the best chops I've ever had as did another friend . Cornbread , deviled eggs and another round of oysters. Hog heaven.

The place had some definite style, and the dishes were a fair approximation of the true NOLA food. There was also some live music while I was there, sitting at the counter. A nice place to drop by, but don't expect too much.

We visited after watching Bay Area Check Please(oh, please no, we will never watch that show again - all their recommendations have just not measured up so they should leave restaurant shows to the professionals). Some of the food was good, others just ok. Portions were smaller than average. We should have ordered the gumbo. Eftouffee was disappointing with just... More

I had opentable reservations, got there early and was still told I might not get a private booth. We had called the day before, to check if they were having jazz as usual, on Monday night. I was put on hold as the hostess had to check. She came back to the phone, with a "yes." After the booth was... More

Came here on a Monday night for fried chicken and jazz. The fried chicken is only served on Mondays and you can also listen to some live jazz while you're eating. I think we got four pieces of chicken and two sides for an order and it was delicious. Also had the Elite's deviled eggs and the Meetinghouse biscuits. So... More

The Elite is a cozy place with old fashioned booths. We started with amazing okra, hush puppies, and deviled eggs. There are a must! We moved onto chicken gumbo, red snapper and the soft crab and grits. Everything amazing. The grits were so soft and smooth. Dessert was the least inspiring. The meyer lemon was tasty. The beignets tasted a... More

Monday nights feature fried chicken and New Orleans Jazz... We enjoyed the music and the atmosphere but decided to test the rest of the menu. I would not characterize the menu as "limited", as the variety of appetizers, salads, and mains were sufficient in number, complimentary, and true to the NOLA motif. It is fair to say that the food... More
