Friends and I went out after a concert and had dinner here. Staff was exceptional...especially Kate...and Caroline, the manager, made us feel right at home. Food was out of this world! I had Gumbo and it compares with the one I had in New Orleans on a recent visit. Small intimate setting and felt like an old restaurant from by... More

We had Thanksgiving at Elite Cafe. We all started with oysters on the half shell. A great start. We all had traditional turkey and cornbread dressing, three with oysters, one without. Side dihes served family style included green beans, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese, all very tasty. Desserts were traditional pumpkin and pecan pies with vanilla ice cream. We... More

This is the place to go on Fillmore for excellent Creole style cooking. The Jambalaya is great - and don't miss the biscuits!

The food was good. We had eggs Benedict with seafood. Well, we didn't see much seafood, with the exception of a tiny scallop. The tables are too close together (in some cases touching) and the host kept seating people close to occupied tables, when there were a lot of empty tables. No privacy at all. I ordered coffee and came... More

There was nothing wrong with the food we had but, for the price, expected something more. The place is busy and noisy - there were two musicians attempting to entertain the diners - but you could not hear them over the general noise. There are nicer restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

Mashed potatoes for brunch! I wanted to stay for a meal but I only had time for a bacon Bloody Mary which was served with cheese! Yum. Most of the brunch dishes come with mashed potatoes, which by the way, is so much better than "home fries" or "home potatoes" or "home fries" which come with every brunch dish on... More

We went there on recommendations from our hotel manager. The place is nice and crowdy. A lot of noise but it's friday night. We have ordered a salad ($10) very expensive for an iceberg brake in 2, with few croutons and little of cheese. A robbery. The main dish was a Jambalaya at 24$. It look and tasted like left... More

Was looking forward to Elite Cafe since I had read about their new chef from somewhere in the Carolinas. Elite Cafe has always been hit and miss for dinner, although the atmosphere is always inviting. Nothing has changed. The best part of our meal was the deviled eggs and the Meeting House biscuits, all down hill from there. The Seafood... More

Oh the buttermilk biscuits! This is a real "slice" of New Orleans cuisine on busy Fillmore St. in SFO! Upscale & in true NOLA "style" - not quiet, bring your friends, enjoy the atmosphere. Don't bring your "uptight friends" - only bring friends who can enjoy the "experience". Make Reservations - otherwise you WILL be disappointed. Just don't take yourself... More

Menu includes a nice variety of dishes and ingredients, and offers several gluten-free options. I had the veal-cheek pasta, which was prepared perfectly. The berry cobbler for dessert was also scrumptious. Atmosphere is lively, but high-backed booths offer privacy for more intimate conversation. Service was very good - staff are attentive and friendly.
