Monday nights feature fried chicken and New Orleans Jazz... We enjoyed the music and the atmosphere but decided to test the rest of the menu. I would not characterize the menu as "limited", as the variety of appetizers, salads, and mains were sufficient in number, complimentary, and true to the NOLA motif. It is fair to say that the food... More

Great location on Fillmore, with outdoor sidewalk seating during warmer weather. Terrific oysters and updated cajun menu have something for everyone. The wood paneled booths are a lovely throw-back and the bar is always great fun. The bartenders seriously know what they are doing. Particularly recommended on Monday nights when they have live jazz and a special 3-course chicken dinner... More

I'd been by here but had never stopped for diner. My mistake. This place is a rare find in SF. Fantastic Cajun food. New Orleans style. Great full bar. It all works.

Elite Café – Fillmore St We were on Fillmore recently and were hungry. We had not been to the Elite Café in several years so decided to stop in for brunch on a Saturday around 11:30. All I can say is “excellent”! The hostess was pleasant and although somewhat busy got us seated after a short wait. The three in... More

We chose this restaurant for our last night on San Francisco and wanted it to be special. The food was very good but portion sizes were small and both left a little hungry. We were seated in a quiet area of the restaurant which was pleasant but the service was adequate at best and for the price felt we could... More

I've eaten here several times. Great bar for a cocktail to start, then good food, service, etc. Their brunch is also really good

A limited menu, as pointed out by others, BUT still much to choose from, with several dishes of the traditional NOLA / Creole cuisine. Ate the etouffe, and the seafood gumbo . . . delicious. Our server (nick) was very attentive, but not pushy at all . . . just a nice meal, on the way to a concert at... More

I ate here more than four times in the last three years, and twice within the last two weeks. This last experience told me that the menu is too limited to go there more often than once every two years, or so, unless one craves the jalapeno infused Bloody Mary or the excellent beignets, as good as at the Cafe... To start - very good cocktails, great atmosphere and very friendly service.Menu was limited with not very many true Cajun items (which is why we went there) no blackened fish or barbecue shrimp. They did have a good gumbo but my blackened pork chop lacked spice. Limited wine selection.

Friends and I went out after a concert and had dinner here. Staff was exceptional...especially Kate...and Caroline, the manager, made us feel right at home. Food was out of this world! I had Gumbo and it compares with the one I had in New Orleans on a recent visit. Small intimate setting and felt like an old restaurant from by... More
