Oh the buttermilk biscuits! This is a real "slice" of New Orleans cuisine on busy Fillmore St. in SFO! Upscale & in true NOLA "style" - not quiet, bring your friends, enjoy the atmosphere. Don't bring your "uptight friends" - only bring friends who can enjoy the "experience". Make Reservations - otherwise you WILL be disappointed. Just don't take yourself... More

Menu includes a nice variety of dishes and ingredients, and offers several gluten-free options. I had the veal-cheek pasta, which was prepared perfectly. The berry cobbler for dessert was also scrumptious. Atmosphere is lively, but high-backed booths offer privacy for more intimate conversation. Service was very good - staff are attentive and friendly.

I've lived in the SF and in the Bay Area for 40 years, but had never been to the Elite Cafe. With so many wonderful restaurants, I just never got around to trying it until last week when I went with two friends. Of the 3 appetizers we had, the fried calamari was great - lightly battered and super crispy... More

The Kentucky "Moscow mule" drink was a winner and the snacks are fantastic. The bar scene is hoping and the service/ambience is 5 star. A do not miss for drinks with friends while in heart of SF.

We were wowed by our meals........The shrimp and grits, with bacon and a poached egg, and the country fried pork chop were true standouts. The service was professional and efficient, but without a trace of human warmth.

I used to live in this neighborhood in the 1990s and ate here very infrequently because the place never really wowed me. I took some friends last night who were visiting from out of town (their first time in SF and my first time back in eight years) They were starving and there were were on Fillmore so we went... More

We have been to this restaurant many times each time hoping the service would improve. Last night we went for the last time. We didn't order drinks as we were driving, once the waitress took the wine glasses off the table we never saw her again. Our starters were brought by someone else and the refills of ice tea was... Brilliant spot for brunch in a very trendy area of SF, do have the eggs benedict when you go, both versions are delicious and will not dissapoint.
