purple peruvian soft brew :-)

Solo'd it on Fillmore visiting SFO for 2nd time this year. I had the Chorito(/mussel & chorizo in broth), lamb meatballs(albondigas) and caesar salad. I could have done without the anchovy fillets but over all it was a good experience, especially the recommendation of the purple beverage... read more

We have been to Peru, and this food is very authentic. It's fresh and flavorful. We had very nice service. Their pisco sours (and their own "take" on them - they have the original and a few others) were very good and reminiscent of our time in Peru. My husband had the "Tiradito" which is similar to Ceviche. The sampler... More

I LOVE Peruvian food and Fresca is definitely in my top 3 for SF. Fresh and flavorful - no necessarily spicy. Must order one of the ceviches. Beef or seafood done really well.

We've been hearing about this restaurant, easy to reach (but hard to park) & decided to try it tonight. Ignorant of peruvian food, we just sampled the 4 ceviches, a wonderful little green salad, the "poor man's beefsteak" (!), and a tres leches dessert. All nicely complemented by a syrah rosé. The service, on a Friday evening that began quietly... More

We came to this place without a reservation on a Sunday night, we were lucky to get a table, eventhough in the middle of the restaurant, so would recommend making a reservation to get a more "quiet" table. But still.. we had a great time and we loved the food was fresh and really tasty. We also asked for a... More

I love this restaurant and make it a point of at least one visit each time I get to San Francisco. It's that good. The ceviche is fantastic, the appetisers are great (don't miss out on the tequenos or plantain chips) and what little room you have after that is for the main meals which are large While I don't... We live in the East Bay and sometimes use this restaurant as a meeting place to get together with our children and grandchildren. When not too busy, it is child friendly and fun. This is close enough to the downtown hotels to give it a try. We had brunch there on Sunday and the restaurant was not yet very busy.... More

Appetizers and salads were better than the main course. Ceviche was very good we tried the shrimp and so were the plantain chips. Was nice to try something different. Had dinner early so was not crowded but service was just ok. Nice atmosphere but seated near the kitchen which made it a little noisy.

I cannot even believe how slow the service was. I was with one friend, we decided on light options such as the Cesar salad and the appetizers of empanadas and other items. I couldn't really figure out what was "Peruvian" about the food. Seemed like simple, basic, nothing special American food with random Peruvian ingredients or touches added. A table... More
