You don't have to go to a fancy, expensive restaurant to get good food! This is a San Francisco institution ! Great hof brau style food. Beers? All and many! Homemade pickles, buffalo stew, pastrami ,roast beef, turkey, they are all good. Great prices , and a little funky atmosphere. A must see!

This is a place we visited after seeing it on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. It is a dive but the food was really good. I would suggest the pastrami sandwich, YUMM!!

Tommy's Joynt is a SF must see. It's a funky place with fresh carved meats and great prices. It's been here forever for a reason - it's a great place to eat. My favorite dish is the fresh carved turkey sandwich on a sourdough roll (if you ask they will add cranberry sauce - yummy.) I'm lucky enough to live... More

I have been going to Tommy's since I was a kid and it never changes. It is always good. Whenever I bring someone new to town, we always end up here because it just seems to represent San Francisco to me. They have beers from all over the world and the buffet style food is better than average. I usually... More

This place has never disappointed me. Everyone that ever comes to SF needs to come experience good and affordable food. It's a great place to chill out and have a drink, or come with the entire family and have dinner. Be prepared to wait in line for a while..... it's worth the wait.

I went here after seeing this place feature on diners drive ins and dives on Food Network. I actually walked about a mile to get here. I had the Monday special which was braised ox tail with noodles. I chose the cole slaw for a side dish. I have to say the flavor of the sauce was good but I... More

Bumped to this place trying to find a Mexican Restaurant and glad we did I just could not believe the quality of the food for the price we paid The carvery style approach the sandwiches and meals in full view of the bar area certainly gives this local bar and eatery a nice atmosphere and the food is just great

Tommy's Joynt is a unique dining experience. The food was awesome and Tommy's has large portions. Easy 15 minute walk from Union Square Marine Memorial Club and Hotel. If we lived in San Francisco, we would be going to Tommy's on a regular basis.

Ate here on our first night in SF. Was not sure what we were expecting, but wanted somewhere that was traditional SF instead of a chain, and this was definitely that. Place was great, food was delicious, we all had different, and I had the buffalo stew. Place was very busy but we luckily found a seat and the staff... More

My buddy and I passed this up on day two of our trip but we went back on day three and let me tell you, was it amazing! The antique décor inside was neat to look. The bar is located on one side and the deli on the other. Plenty of tables to sit at while you dine. Speaking of... More
