Great dinner

Dinner for 2 and under 20 dollars. I had the lasagna and my husband had the turkey, mash potatoes and baked beans. Everything was great!

One of San Francisco's original soul food joints. This place has been around for years. Cash only. Some choices of proteins arrange from turkey, roast beef, brisket, barbecue, and chicken. Some choices of sides arrange from beans, Mac n Cheese, and salad. Over the years, there has been quite a cult following. Some famous bands have stopped in as exhibited... More

A Hofbrauhaus feel, often a line, alluring choice of huge carnivore delights. This was a fun experience, so few places remotely like it. Pastrami delicious, and everything looked so good as you walk through the line to order. Check out the daily specials; one days it was huge lamb shanks, $10+ each or two for $14+.

I asked my hotel for a recommendation for a sandwich. I was told to go to Tommy's Joint. If you want an old fashioned hot pastrami or corned beef this is your place, Very inexpensive in a bar setting. Not close to Union square but well worth a 20 minute walk or cab ride. Great beer selection as well

This place has a vibe, incredible interior design, great location. The foods are delicious, I will definately go back for another round. You must try all the salads and sides they have.

This place is awesome. It's basically a cafeteria. You stand in line, they pile your plate high with meat and potatoes (Or sandwiches or chili or whatever the special is.), you move down and choose another side and get a roll and grab your silverware and water and then you find a place to sit at one of the many... My husband insisted to eat at Tommy's Joynt, his been there several times in the past. It's more like cafetería food, you order what you want, food is already prepared. My husband and daughter ordered turkey leg with stuffing, my mom and I shared a turkey sandwich (plain, dry, cold, hard piece of bread with super dry turkey slices) and... More

Went because we saw it on the Food network. Food was mediocre. Had the corned beef dinner, pastrami sandwich and cucumber salad. Both the dinner and sandwich were fatty. Prices were reasonable and the pickles were good. Otherwise not impressed.
