My husband and I had lunch at Tommy's Joynt. He had the roast beef sandwich and I had the pastrami plate. The food was hot and fresh. There were many sides to choose from. Our waitress was very busy, but friendly and brought our drinks right away. I believe Tommy's is about the history and consistently good deli service. Just... More

I had heard about it before, saw it on TV so just had to find time to try it. It is an old time saloon with a food line of hand cut meats. I had the roast beef sandwich on sour dough bread, They also had turkey, Corned beef, pastrami. Cash only.

you really cant go wrong with this establishment, we were staying at the Opal Hotel across the road and whilst on initial inspection from a distance it may not look like a place for a holiday maker -this is not the case. whilst the prices of the food were some of the cheapest we paid in the city , it... This place was recommended by a local, who suggested we were unlikely to find a better place to have a thanksgiving meal in San Fran. Most places shut down as people celebrate, but this is the place everyone seems to go to grab a traditional dinner for a bargain price. A choice of meat with all the trimmings and then... More

The place does food but we didn't try it. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. The bar is old with plenty of wood. It reminded me of the sort of bars you get in Chicago. If you are near it it's worth dropping into.

If you are a meat lover, this is the place for you. From roasted chicken to corned beef, Tommy's offers platters, sandwiches, and lots of flavor. The portion sizes are huge and the prices are low. I highly recommend this local gem to any one visiting San Francisco.

I didn't like the atmosphere, the alleged sports bar with TV coverage but no sound, and it's allowance of dogs which should be against San Francisco public health codes for restaurants.
