OK, so we didn't eat here, we didn't realise its basically a cafeteria with a bar, shared tables, line up and get food from the servery, sit with strangers at a table. The food may be OK and certainly was cheap but not what we were looking for.

If you like a rough and ready atmosphere and you're hungry - this was a good place to go. Had the BBQ Brisket w/ green beans and cucumber salad. YUM.

I had one meal here when I was visiting San Francisco last month. They have an extensive menu, all American type food, and what I had was good, and the price was very reasonable.

We eat our main meals here when in San Fransisco. We ate dinner twice here in March. They rotate the specials so you can't get bored. Thursday and Sunday they serve lamb shanks. Plan your visit around these succulent shanks. If going on other nights, the corned beef is great, also, the pastrami or brisket. Heck, it's all good! That's why they've been there for many many years.

This place is beautiful. We cannot comment on the food because we came here souly to drink, but we can tell from the comforting aroma that fills this place, that the food will make you feel like mum just served Christmas dinner. This is a cute enough place - appears to be a dive bar but once the door opens, you'll enjoy a wonderful cloud of backyard-barbeque aroma. Enjoy the cloud, the food is not as wonderful. This place really reminds you of bygone era. They have very reasonable prices, Great sanwiches and Daily Specials. I usually get the Rib Eye on freshly baked San Francisco Rolls. I REALLY enjoy going here for lunch or dinner anytime I can get to San Francisco!!!! The sandwiches and the service are always TOP NOTCH and the atmosphere is so cool. This was my second trip to Tommy’s and it did not disappoint my expectations in any way!!! GOOD FOOD, GREAT SERVICE and a FUN atmosphere!!!!
