Had to see it...

After watching a program in Food Network about this place, had to try their Pastrami Sandwich... it was good, worth the walk there... You first order it at a buffet line, pay for it and seat... You could give it a try...

For my group of friends Tommy's Joint is a pop icon. Every year we are in San Francisco we organize a group lunch/dinner. We've been doing this off and on for almost 15 years. There are a good 50 of us (sometimes more) that come in and stay for hours eating and drinking. We had a good relationship with the... More

We visited SF recently and tried Tommy's Joynt after seeing on Diners, D&D. Was NOT disappointing! Place was definitely funky but clean. Food was outstanding and so reasonably priced in a very expensive city. Only regret was we couldn't make it back a second time before leaving.

Very good surprise in the middle of the city. This place leads you to a full immersion of San Francisco atmosphere. They serve different plates, such as ribs, turkey, beef, salads, etc. If you to save few coins and eat on a very authentic place, this where to go.

This place delivers decent food at a good price, but nothing more. If you are looking for basic food served to the masses, then this is your place. It's "American" cuisine at its finest. The actual joint is nice, with an eclectic mix of furnishings around the restaurant. Customer service is non-existent, but that is not really expected with this... More

Lotsa hype - yet, mediocre at best. Billed as a serious tourist attraction - but not in the same universe as other tourist-magnets like Cliff House, Buena Vista, Scoma's, etc. that over-deliver. It's not that Tommy's is bad; it just has nothing to distinguish it. Tommy's is a diner, serving diner food; think Denny's - inly not part of a... More

We were passing through San Francisco on our trip to LA and we stopped a Tommys for lunch. A great place for a sandwich made to order fresh and quick. We enjoyed the food and drink even though is was a quick stop.

Great place. I went in and had a roast beef dinner. It was really good, no fuss food. The staff was really friendly.
