Good find

This is a relatively small restaurant with friendly staff. Small as in a bit tight. I had the Smiling Noodles, consisting of chicken, shrimp, bok choy, mushrooms and curry. Thankfully they offer a small and regular portion and the small was plenty. Lots of flavor but not overwhelming. I also had... read more

The food was so delicious we returned twice for dinner. Everything is fresh and organic. One night I had the linguini with clams, shrimp and fresh fish. The next night wad a half-chicken served over garlic mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Yum. This is a restaurant that caters to the locals in the neighborhood. Nothing is she-she about it. The... Chow never fails --- the food is "basic" in the best sense of the word. Nothing too fancy, but always of high quality and well prepared. Nice variety. Noodle dishes are especially good. Service is always fine. If there are no tables available and I'm eating alone or with one other person, I sit at the counter, which is just... More

Waitress really friendly. Ingredients for sandwich good but over cooked so chicken breast rubbery. Prices not terrible but felt more like a Wetherspoons.

Visited Chow for a late lunch and enjoyed the casual vibe and nice variety of food options: Asian noodles, Mexican fish tacos, etc. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and tasty.

Loved the food and the atmosphere. Ate here twice, in fact, over a recent four day stay in San Francisco.

During our Urban Trek tour the six of us all wanted something different for lunch. Anton, our tour guide, selected Chow. We were seated in a pleasant patio area. Each of us ordered food to our liking and were all extremely satisfied. If you are trying to please people with different appetites, Chow is the restaurant for you.

I came here for breakfast and brunch over my trip it was just so good! A must try drink is the Chai Baba Chai, sooo delicious. The restaurant is very homey and comfortable. The service could have been a little bit faster, but it was fine. Overall I had a very nice time!

Staying in Mission District

Neighborhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighborhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country.
