Excellent dinner in a city with excellent restaurants

Friendly service and quality food in a small French and Italian bistro. I know French and Italian? New chef is trending toward Italian but many French dishes remain., We had the rib eye for two and it was cooked perfectly and the frites were outstanding. What impressed me as well was the reasonably... read more

Nice pasta but the place it is too noisy for a pleasant dinner. Pasta is well cooked but it doesn't have nothing special for comment

I have eaten at Florio five or six times over the last three years and each time it is wonderful. The wait staff is very professional and the food is just great. It seems like the waiter knows just when to appear and the bartender makes the best cocktails. On this last visit we had Aperol Spritzers which were as... More

Excellent bistro food. Classic presentations. Not a Michelin class, but very well done. I had the fish stew, which was as good as it can be, full of fresh seafood in a rich broth. My buddy and his wife had the mega-steak for 2, which can really feed 4 or 5 people. You will enjoy the intimacy of this place.

On the somewhat shabby stretches of Fillmore Street there are many fine restaurants - this is on the edge of Pacific Heights, after all. Flora is small and intimate, feels like a neighborhood spot despite the high prices - quality food worth paying for. An Ahi tuna dish was modestly sized and delicious; the seafood stew is more generous -... More

Want to try a neighborhood restaurant full of local regulars rather than the big tourist spots downtown? It's well worth a taxi ride to Florio. My wife and I come to San Francisco every few years and always try to work in a visit here for fantastic food, friendly people, super service and a great bar.

Florio has been on Fillmore for years, and consistently draws locals and tourists. Our first visit was a couple years ago, and this time also did not disappoint. The host was welcoming, the bar already booming at 6 p.m., and service was not intrusive. We began with drinks - as they were featuring rose wines, I tried a delicious Spanish... More

I cannot speak too highly of Florio on Fillmore in SF. I have gone there every year for over ten years and never been disappointed. John Castellano and his staff are prompt and friendly, even on bustling, busy nights. Dinners are not cheap but always delicious. Portion sizes are small enough that diners can indulge in cocktail, appetizer, entree, and... More

Because this restaurant is in my neighborhood, I'm going to be less generous in my review so I can continue to get a reservation at a decent hour.. What can I say: The place is quaint and has that Parisian Bistro feel, inviting for a warm dinner and a well executed cool cocktail. Not everything is perfect, our server had... More

Decor wise not a bad place with a friendly welcome. We ordered chicken which was undercooked and to be fair were offered a replacement meal but I have an aversion to complaining and then recieving another offering from the chef after a previous experience of food poisoning. The waitress was really good and our meals were removed from the bill.... More
