Great ambiance, food and service! My daughter and I both enjoyed the neighborhood and would definitely go again to sample more menu options!

I had breakfast here with friends, one of which was gluten free, and the food was great. Generous portions, friendly staff at an affordable price. My gluten free was impressed with the gluten-less biscuits. I would definitely go back.

I really wanted to like this place because it looks like it's been there forever and I was craving a hearty home-cooked breakfast. But sadly it fell well short of my expectations. The biggest issue I had was that everything was under-seasoned, not a lick of salt on anything which rendered it all very bland and boring. Second, I ordered... More

Delicious food, generous portions, fair price. Aunt El's homemade sausage patties are delicious! My nephew had the corned beef hash and that was good. Chunks - not diced up pieces - of corned beef and potatoes. Carrots too. Service was attentive and friendly.

Nice spot but small so expect to wait a bit during peak times, great menu and super friendly service. I probably would have give four stars but...I ordered the veggie scramble special which was pretty tasty until I found a pretty long hair in it. Completely ruined my meal. My husband liked his Blt but the soup was a bit... More

We visited Kate's Kitchen after finding them on Scoutmob. They were offering free hushpuppies that day. They were perfect with the jelly. The place was very much a nod to a Southern style breakfast. The breakfast sandwich was served on a toasted sesame seed bun and with breakfast potatoes. It was quite tasty. And there some great street art and... More

The cornmeal buttermilk pancakes here are the best. Top 'em off with strawberries and banana or lemon custard. Yum! Homey funky fun place with very reasonable prices and large portions.

I've been going to Kate's Kitchen for years, but there are several problems, that I see, that have persisted. 1) Not enough syrup! The pancakes and French toast are huge, and they give you this little drip of sap for the whole plate, and extra syrup is $1. 2) The home fries are good, but they are always only half-cooked;... French toast is yummy although a bit overwhelming. but totally worth the carbs! lol. perfect for sharing. (check out the photo!) Friendly staff. Great location with graffiti walls across the street. Laid back atmosphere. It seems like more locals go here. Was not crowded at all when we were there. Vegetarian friendly. Lots of organic food to choose from! Prices... More

We had breakfast once at Kate's Kitchen during our stay in San Francisco and really enjoyed it. We had pancakes and french toast with fresh fruit - both were excellent! The portions are huge, so a small stack of pancakes is enough - even if you are hungry. Very authentic place offering organic food we would definitively come back to!
