Beautiful and delicious dining! Be prepared to have your senses assaulted! This is a parade of delicious, artfully prepared dishes. We ordered the Garden and the Quince tasting and therefore we got to try a little of everything. The staff here is as lovely as the food. It was an exquisite evening!

Lovely room and focused, professional service. A well balanced, wide ranging wine list with a great selection of halves, all kept current online...a rare thing indeed. Useful to be able to research wines and vintages prior to arrival. The menu though nominally Italian blends French influences seamlessly, allowing a level of complexity not always available in the Italian repertoire but... More

We were making an enquiry about a reservation and request about gluten free options. The response was blunt, rude and then the phone was hung up!

Our local restaurant critic gave this restaurant an extraordinarily complimentary review, so we made reservations long beforehand for a Tuesday evening --hoping to enjoy a wonderful meal with fantastic service, just as the critic stated. Yes, the dinner had nine courses, albeit with small portions so that clients could treasure every morsel of food, and the service was, on the... More

The room is beautiful and from when we walked in the door, the service was perfect. It was just the right blend of formality and friendliness and very polished. The tasting menu was delicious. The wine pairings were excellent and perfectly matched each course. This was our second time to this restaurant and we will definitely be back.

Quince is much more of an experience than a meal. The food, ambiance and staff are worthy of the positive comments others have made. We had the Quince tasting menu with wine pairing. Each course was very flavorful. The wine pairing was well matched and included a few surprises. The selections were mostly French and included several different whites from... More

My husband and I went to Quince for our anniversary in February. It was an outstanding meal - definitely a culinary experience (extraordinary food, lovely atmosphere, wonderful staff). We opted for the set course menu, each ordering a different one, along with a wine pairing for one of the menus. All the food was beautifully presented, and extremely creative. The... More

Had a 7 course degustation menu with accompanied wines. Everything was close to perfect. Service is also excellent. Luckily didn't pay the bill but I think it would have been pretty high.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
