Great service, very good vegetarian food

This is a high end restaurant. They accommodate vegetarians well & also those who don't drink alcohol. We had their vegetarian tasting menu. Had a business meal in a private room here and all of us commented on the amazing service....subtle and sublimely professional. Trust me, we are amongst the most spoilt executives on the planet and benchmark this as world-class. Locally sourced specialities and wines were the order of the day. Carefully considered and complimentary, each course was a delight. Each course... More

This is a beautiful restaurant with, as it should be in fine dining restaurants, the tables quite separated. The most beautiful flower arrangements that I have ever seen. We had the tasting menu with winepairing. The courses were of course really excellent, but none of the courses has stuck in my memory and made me go wow. And this has... More

I didn't know what good service was until my husband and I ate here. We went to Quince for a special occasion, and don't typically eat at restaurants of this caliber, so we felt a little out of place, but the wait staff was exceptional at every turn. We were served by five or size different people, each one able... More

Thank you Quince for the best dining experience of my life! We were in San Francisco on vacation and chose Quince for a fancy meal. The restaurant is beautiful, with amazing artwork, wonderful chandeliers, and a nice mix of vintage brick with dark woods. Our waiter Joe was very warm and friendly and made us feel very comfortable during our... More

Last minute walk-in. I decided spontaneously to go to Quince and sat at the salon for dinner. Pros: excellent service with thoughtful recommendations for wine and food. I had oysters with caviar followed by Tortelli. Cons: wished I had more time to sit in the main dining room and experience the whole menu.

They managed to hire very attractive waiters. The food was a good mix, I was disappointed at the lamb. The $57 glass of champagne was decent but overpriced. But hey if you're coming here, you're probably doing ok or celebrating a special occasion. In my case, Saturday. I like the dessert cart at the end though they roll it away... More

The dining room is absolutely stunning with perfect lighting. We were apprehensive about the fixed 8 courses having already enjoyed lunch, but the garden menu was very light and delicious. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. However on two separate occasions different waiters poured still water into our sparkling which was very careless. We had no change from $700 for... More

I went to the restaurant a few weeks ago and I had an amazing experience! One of the bests pre fixed menu I have ever had. The food is perfect, the wine menu also good, little pricy but it was worth it! And by the end of the dinner we received the best hot chocolate with marshmallows on it. I... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
