Description: Jardiniere, opened in 1997, is housed in a beautiful landmark building in San Francisco's chic Hayes Valley neighborhood. Highlights of the elegant setting, designed by Pat Kuleto, include a gorgeous bar and stunning staircase. The highly refined and sensual food of Chef/Owner Traci Des Jardins is a celebration of Northern California's best seasonal bounty prepared with classic French technique. The J Lounge features a full list of specialty cocktails and wines, and offers a variety of creative lounge food and small plates. Its proximity to the theaters makes it an excellent place to dine before or after a show.

Our evening at Jardiniere was a textbook example of how I think fine dining should be. My husband and I went with the multi-course tasting menu along with the suggested wine pairings; so this special meal should be considered in that admittedly expensive context. Suffice it to say that each course was a delicious, prepared and presented with care and... More

Always love coming back to Jardiniere when we are visiting the city. Having a Martini at the beautiful bar watching the early theatre goers and their elegant dress. The Nutcracker was on this particular evening and the children all looked adorable. Upstairs for dinner in the magnificent restaurant area, enjoyed my number one food on earth "Caviar". Staff are very... More

This was NOT our first visit to the restaurant. That being said...Great location if you are going to an event at the Opera House BUT... For this caliber of a restaurant they really shouldn't be "out" of anything since we were the first seating (5:00pm)! Sat down and ordered a drink..."out" of Crown, "out" of Jack Daniels (would have expected... More

Thank you for leaving us feedback on your experience. I am sad to hear that you didn't have the most enjoyable time with us. It is true that we do not carry certain liquors. However, we always want to listen to the guests needs. I truly apologize about the miss-communication about the wine price range. Our top priority is to... More

A great location, right across the street from the San Francisco Opera House. There were four of us for dinner. We had a wonderful time. Our Waitress was great, The menu is limited but very good. We weren't thrilled with the appetizers, but the Pasta with Lamb Sausage was to die for. We also had a Crab pasta that was good... More

We really liked the restaurant, and it was accommodating to both my gluten-free diet and my wife's vegetarian instincts. Our party make a reservation, and the waiter came prepared. He was very good. The food was outstandingly delicious, and the kitchen had the flexibility to create a completely off-menu entree for my wife that made her happy. The kitchen sent... More

Had reservations, but had to wait a few minutes for the table. The food is good, some dishes are a little on the smaller side. The menu is limited to 4 entrees, so do not expect a large selection of items to choose from. 30 corkage, and a few wines by the glass. Do not let them put your wine... More

For three years my cousin and I have enjoyed going to The Jardiniere before performances at the San Francisco Opera every October. We loved it the first two years and liked it this year. The service is still good. The menu is practically indecipherable even for someone who speaks several languages. So the waiter has to interpret. The food is... More

We have been here many times. Most of the times we went on a whim and did not make rsvp and sat at the bar for dinner. Sad to say we received better service at the bar! My water cup was near empty and there was no refill (we would have done it ourselves but they put the bottle on... More

My wife and I had dinner here before a performance by the London Philharmonic at the San Francisco Symphony's, Davies Hall. It was a recommendation by our concierge at the Fairmont. In a word "outstanding". The decor is modern but comfortable located in what looks like old warehouse/manufacturing space. Our waiter was very attentive and immediately asked if we were... More

I have been here twice and both experiences were good. The staff were attentive, food was outstanding. The second visit was a bit problematic because we were a large group and even though I'd made a reservation for the group, we were stuck in an awkward corner with a giant space between our two tables (one table of 3, one...
