Jardiniere is touted as one of the finest restaurants in San Francisco, yet I was not overly impressed with the food. It was tasty, but not particularly memorable. The presentations were what one would expect in a fine restaurant, but there was quite a bit of "white space" on the dish where food could have been. All the staff we... More

Very pretty restaurant with food to match. We particularly liked being able to enjoy a delicious, leisurely meal with a friend we hadn't seen for a while without being rushed and in a beautiful space where tables were more than a foot from each other and where we could hear each other without shouting! The food was very well prepared... More

Fabulous atmosphere and excellent service. Oysters on the half shell are perfect. House cocktails were superb; we had the A Mure Amore and the Pamplemousse Aperitivo and couldn't have been more pleased. Timely and attentive waitstaff, great food.

We had dinner on a Wednesday evening with our daughter, who lives a block away from this Hayes Valley restaurant. The restaurant was less than half full, with a rather stolid ambience. The waiter was too effete for my liking. The portions seem small for the price, but the food was top quality. The wine prices were too high. There... More

I had great expectations for this highly rated landmark restaurant in the City and we all enjoyed our meals, but agreed that it didn't live up to the hype and probably the "once" was enough. The decor is stately and has a warm, inviting bar as a centerpiece to the space with dining in booths and tables located in a... More

How can this restaurant lure people in? Five of us had dinner recently. The menu was very limited ant not very interesting. Two of us started with soup... It was barely warm. As I sipped my thimble sized, overpriced martini I waited for my trout. It came.. Tepid..small.. Unaccompanied by anything. Our service was so slow we nearly missed the... More

Had a great meal here. The service was attentive but we were not rushed, informative but not overly pushy. I had scallops to start and they were divine! Duck breast and confit was equally as delicious. The choice of cheeses was also good, although I may have offended my dinner date with the pungent smell! His choices were equally as... More

The food and service are delicious, the restaurant itself is gorgeous and a romantic setting. It's pricey, but average for a nice, special occasion dinner. The cocktail menu had variety and since they knew we were there for a birthday they made sure to bring out a sampler dessert plate after dinner- very generous. We love French food, so this... More

My wife and I always celebrate our wedding anniversary at a French restaurant no matter where we may be on the globe. And this night was no different on our way to the French restaurant "Jardinière" in San Francisco. As we stepped inside we were immediately met by the hostess. After providing our information about our reservation we took a... More
