Jardiniere, opened in 1997, is housed in a beautiful landmark building in San Francisco's chic Hayes Valley neighborhood. Highlights of the elegant setting, designed by Pat Kuleto, include a gorgeous bar and stunning staircase. The highly refined and sensual food of Chef/Owner Traci Des Jardins is a celebration of Northern California's best seasonal bounty prepared with classic French technique. The J Lounge features a full list of specialty cocktails and wines, and offers a variety of creative lounge food and small plates. Its proximity to the theaters makes it an excellent place to dine before or after a show.

Parley vous Jardiniere rocks??

What an amazing place. Conference we attended booked the entire group here for our Friday night wrap up dinner. We had the whole place. Absolutely superb. The appetizers were exotic. I can't recall a total experience that was the equal of this one. The decor, the service, and, of course, the food were all outstanding. And if you are there to enjoy the symphony, opera, or ballet, there is no other restaurant as well located. Also, parking is a snap, whether you opt for valet parking or park it yourself,... More

My wife and I spent the weekend in San Francisco to celebrate 9 months of marriage (well celebrate anything :-). We chose Jardiniere's to eat and so happy we did. They provide valet parking ($15), thus omitting the first stress of San Francisco...parking. The ambiance inside is beautiful. Low light, beautiful bricks and curves,,,the whole vibe was comfortable, relaxing and... More

Friends who live in Santa Cruz took us to this restaurant- fantastic. Food superb & the 4 of us all took different dishes. Service and ambience first class. We love our food & this restaurant would take a lot of beating.

We have visited this restaurant tens of times since it opened in late 1997 and it unequivocally WAS our favorite in SF. While the decor and food have remained at a high level, they have fallen into the trap of overly aggressively "monetizing". This is most apparent in the ludicrous capacity of the highly priced thimble sized cocktails: two or... More

Great food and attentive service but really really expensive! If you want a special place to go try this place also has convenient valet parking.

I dined solo, seated at the bar in March 2015 I had planned on visiting Jardiniere last April when in town on holiday with my wife, but we ended up dining at another fantastic restaurant (see my review for Gary Danko), and was happy to have time on my most recent trip to finally make it to this restaurant. Read that Tracy was named best chef america by James Beard and thought must try. Was happy to get reservations and from the first course to the last I was in foodie heaven. My favorite was the sea urchin lardo toast at the beginning. Wow what a flavor profile.

Park your car here before you attend ballet or SFO and usually save $5. I really like two story open air inside arrangement. classic bar great for drinking. I usually have fish or seafood. good wine list with reasonable prices. Apps are good.

Super amazing restaurant, they have a great tasting menu option, had the best duck ever and I highly recommend after a ballet or opera night.

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighborhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
