Sightglass is an independent, sibling-owned coffee company in San Francisco. To us, a good craftsperson works tirelessly to perfect and deliver excellence. At Sightglass, coffee is our hands-on craft. Because coffee is a seasonal fruit, we source it from origin in tiny, freshly harvested lots.

I respect in-house roasting, so they're roasters, and their beans are fresh and coffee well crafted, I had the cortado, and it was divine, the taste of the coffee was ever so present and strong I could taste the whole bean profile on my palate.

Stopped in here for a morning coffee while visiting SF and was pleasantly surprised by the very cool interior, nice detailing throughout referencing industrial architecture. I appreciated seeing the roasting equipment and coffee sacks right there in the main room. The one place they fall short in the decor department is the gray plastic trash cans they use in the... Decided to go to sight glass for a up of coffee. Although there was no dark roast available, the medium roast was not bad at all. Very spacious. I like the fact there is a second floor sitting area with lots of natural light. Would come again.

There are tons of coffee shops in SF, but none have the feel and taste of Sightglass. There menu is simple and small. I personally like to get their mocha's as they use real chocolate in it. Another great thing is there is plenty of seating so you can relax from the hustle and bustle of the city.

But really excellent coffee. Just be sure to ride your bike so you'll fit in with the locals...great use of space for a coffee shop. And gluten free treats available.

My son is a barista in Dallas, TX...we were traveling to a family wedding with 2 days to spend in San Francisco. Where ever we go, he has to check out the coffee spots, so I've been to a lot. What a lovely surprise Sightglass Coffee is. I loved the interior and the unusual architectural elements such as the sliding... More

This is a freshly made coffee shop that roasts their popular coffee right here. It can get noisy, and a little crowded at times. A lot of startup / nearby tech workers stop in. Most people here are talking shop. The people here friendly and the coffee is all great. The snacks are some of the best baked goods in... More

This was the best experience I have ever had at a coffee shop! Being an LA native i consider myself a bit snobbish when it comes to my coffee. Generally I flock to Blue Bottle when in SF, however I decided to give Sightglass a shot. DO IT! the aumbiance and overall vibe of the cafe is super relaxed and... More

fresh roasted beans on sight, in a very modern warehouse style building. They sell lovely fresh baked pastries as well! I walked blocks on my own one morning to happily find this place. I brought treats back to the hotel room and enjoyed the spoils of my walk. The only draw back for me was they don't have a dark... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
