What can I say. This place has soul and heart. The core value of this restaurants is that they train at risk kids and give back to the community. That fact ONLY would make me want to go. But truly -- the food is good. The food is very good. I had the fried chicken. Delicious. Big portion. The soup... More

Excellent experience - good vibe, great service and outstanding food while supporting a program / mission of supporting youth development. All three courses of the meal were outstanding - appetizer, entrée and dessert. I seriously LOVED the fish and couscous. The service was great. The wait staff was courteous, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. Entertainment was engaging but didn't... More

What a treat. A must go to dining adventure. The staff is wonderful and the food is soooo good. The Peanut butter stew ($8) has all the taste you would expect. The Half Rack of Baby back ribs ($22) is enough to fill you and has a good sauce. The shrimp and grits ($16) is creamy and has tons of... More

The Old Skool Cafe is a social enterprise cafe for at risk youths. The cafe is located in what use to be one of the toughest areas of San Francisco. The area still doesn't get the safest ratings by the cab drivers, but we took a cab and a car and had no problems. All the workers are youth that... More

Here are the reasons I love Old Skool: * the story - every product/service should have a great story and this one does * the food - REALLY great food and great prices * the atmosphere - classy * the entertainment - how... I absolutely adore it when people do something for the greater good. I loved that the owner, Teresa, who had previously been a corrections officer, has now given the opportunity to many of these young adults, to create and begin a new chapter in their lives. Without the experience and training that Teresa provides for them, I do not know... More

The Old Skool Cafe is an amazing place in many ways. The ambiance is very nice -- charming, cozy and even romantic with a retro style from the early to mid 1900's. The booths, tables and the entire restaurant are nicely appointed. The service is absolutely wonderful - these guys are the nicest servers you will probably ever meet. When... More

Great new discovery! A Cozy little place that brings you back to the 1940’s. The staff is welcoming and charming and the waiters wear 40’s style suits. The food is simply delightful and authentic. We tried the Jordan’s fried chicken, the gumbo, the blacked catfish and the mac and cheese. As food aficionados, we were not disappointed! The great thing... More
