Definitely worth the mountain climbing walk from our apartment.. The old fashioned was terrific- crunchy out, doughy in, and the kruller was inhalable. The buttermilk bar very nicely done. Good old style bakery donuts, not over the top sweet, nor crazy flavor inventive. Great way to start Sunday morning.

This shop is small and homey. The employees are friendly. The Crumb Cake donut was delicious. A Maple Cake donut was also good. If in the area, a nice place to stop.

We went there to get a quick breakfast. We ordered several different things and the apple fritte was not as amazing as in other places. The place was a bit of a mess and seemed dirty which was not very comfortable. I'm not sure I would go back..

When you want a donut on Polk street you might want to stop here. The Lady that works her has a very unusual personality and is far from inviting. The donuts are heavy and sometimes greasy. I have had an apple fritter here and a few donuts. It always seems like the donuts have been there awhile.

I was pretty excited about visiting Bob's, given the reviews here. It's not that Bob's doughnuts aren't good, they are, but paying $25 for 1.5 dozen is pretty steep for the quality I experienced. Service was good; the layout of the place is weird as you can't see the available varieties from the cash register. I'd rate the quality of... More

Why would any reviewer go to Bob's Donuts for anything but donuts? I thought about Bob's at every donut shop we stopped in on a recent slow drive up the California coast -- in Palm Springs or LA or Carmel or Monterey -- the donuts would be waiting in San Francisco. I don't know how I managed to get through... More

A little over a mile away from the hotel, and armed with the knowledge that I would have to pass through the Tenderloin (imagine skid row), I was prepared to run like a cheatah. During my sprint, various emotions including sadness and empathy vacillate throughout my soul as I notice men and women on the streets of San Francisco (SF)... More

We found this place by total mistake but when we drove by one evening (around 10) and saw the line of people we figured it must be good so we found a parking spot and got in line! We had three different types of donuts and they were all amazing and fresh and the best thing is they are open... More

We were told of this place during our Real SF walking tour, and could not be happier in finding this place in the Polk Street area. So much so we stopped by twice! They never close (as we were told by the counter gal), so the donuts and pastries are fresh and a great desert treat. It is easy to... More

Went out of our way to buy donuts. Much like supermarket donuts. May not have chosen well. Would not return
