Quick and tasty breakfast

My husband and I came in for a quick pastry breakfast and coffee on a Saturday morning. The pastries are very tasty and were less greasy than those at other bakeries. They also have a pretty good variety of macarons that can be boxed as gifts. We ordered 1 drip coffee and 1 specialty latte, both... read more

I am not into copious breakfast. Some milk, a butter croissant and a tea will do. So why pay more than 20 dollar in your hotel, while you get the same for about 7 dollar in La Boulange? Their butter croissant is far much better than the one I had in the hotel. However, compared to the 'croissant au beurre'... More

We stayed in the nearby (1-2 minutes walk) Omni hotel for a week, and ate breakfast here every day. Prices for downtown SF are reasonable, selection is good. Food servings are good size. Fruit is remarkably good. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to you. Unfortunately they are closed on weekends (as are most restaurants in... More

This was right across the street from our hotel (Marriott Marquis) and we would get a loaf of sourdough bread to have with our coffee---delicious way to start the day! They have so many items to choose from! I recommend the whole wheat croissant and blueberry coffee cake as well as the sourdough bread. It was all so delicious!!!

If you are in this area and ready for a really nice casual place to eat, go here. Try the sample macaroons and challenge yourself not to buy some. They're amazing. Location is next to the art center gardens, covered outdoor and indoor dining and wonderful food and great coffee. Just a really pleasant place.

Good coffee and pastries, fine sandwiches for lunch at reasonable prices. Will go back. Close to a park where concerts are held.

Been here about 10 times since I often stay at a nearby hotel. The best macarons anywhere. Had a few croissants, almond and chocolate, all good. Good lattes also.

I ordered several items and brought them back to the hotel. Every one was more than spot on. The chocolate Croissant was wonderful. The Macarons were some of the best we have ever had and we have been spoiled by Sprungli of Switzerland. My wife really enjoyed the Hot Cocoa as well. I would make it a point to get... More

Nice selection of sandwiches, salads, and sweets. Quick and friendly service. I expected a bit more from the Croque Monsieur sandwich, but the croissants were really good.

Would say there is a reason why Starbucks uses them for baked goods. Enjoyed the croissant and madelines with my Blue Bottle coffee. Will return.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
