Innovative and tasty!

No reservations available for our visit to San Francisco- but about 30% of the seats are reserved for walk ins. We decided to line up at 5pm- doors open at 5:30pm. We could see the preparation of a variety of dishes in process. Our choice was to sit at the counter (watch the cooks) or a community... read more

By sharing your experiences, you're helping travelers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you! Would Suggest sitting at the bar to watch the chefs preparing so many interesting dishes. Don't feel obligated to take the 1st things you see there are so many options. Alittle Pricey as things add up quickly. There were two of us and... More

Food - great ! Ambiance - horrible ! Amazing that the wait staff don't lose their voices nightly. They must get sick of repeating themselves over the noise. It's such an insulting restaurant psychology to crank up the noise so they can supposedly make extra bucks. I wouldn't come back. Once was enough.

I had tried to book this place in advance but couldn't get a booking - restaurants in SF generally encourage walk ins so I gave it a shot and got a spot at the bar (one of the advantages of travelling alone!). The food was amazing, staff excellent... It really lived up to the expectations! Great experience. Provisions next door... More

If you can even get a seat, this place has small bites of incredible food that is out of this world creative. Not like dumplings, but just small bites that come around to your table. The bar next door is fantastic too if you have a wait.

It was a good experience, too bad we got a hair in the pork belly. With no reservation at all we were lucky as walk-ins. We got a great table and service. The food is so good... Until we got a hair, the server didn't seem to care and that was a bit disappointing and surprising considering the restaurant just... More

To be fair, it is not a 3 Michelin Stars restaurant, but the cuisine is nevertheless superb, and the formula of offering New American Cuisine in a tapas/dim sum fashion enables the diner to enjoy more casually, and to a much greater extend, the variety of creative dishes that come out of the kitchen in a continuous stream that pleases... We went there on a Monday night around 9 pm, no wait, seated at the bar right next to the kitchen entrance. Got the last few rounds of dim sum/tapas style plates & ordered a few dishes of the standard menu. Everything was exceptional, a few dishes were off the chart! The waiters were very knowledgable and down to earth... More

a definite adventure. all kinds of food and in unusual combinations. can eat lots of different things all at once. the persimmon dish delish. oysters, yum. can't even remember all the goodies. go there- make a reservation, or be prepared to wait. they seat in waves - 5:30 then 7:30. they deliberately do not fill up with reservations so that... We loved the ambience and the eclectic nature of the food. However, the food experience was inconsistent. The dishes that were standouts were the pork belly and the duck legs. Overall it was inconsistent.
