We found this restaurant when walking back to Lombard Street and trying to avoid the tourist scramble at Fisherman's wharf. A great welcome and friendly waiter who explained the menu to us. Great food, great atmosphere. Check it out yourself.

My wife wanted a Mexican restaurant for dinner and I found the Latin Grill on my I-pad as an option fairly close to our hotel in Lombard Street. It turned out to be a mix of Cuban/ Colombian and not Mexican, but what a find! Both our Arroz con Pollo and the Ropa Vieja were excellent, and the overall atmosphere... More

Five of us had lunch at the Latin Grill. We shared three main dishes and four side dishes among us. Everything was wonderful! All 5 of us enjoyed every one of the dishes. Delicious complex flavors, everything perfectly cooked, nothing greasy. Wonderful! The music was very good, but a bit loud for us. But then, we're older so maybe it's... More

My husband and I stumbled upon this place on Easter Sunday, and were so happy we did! They had just opened so it was very quiet, but because of this we were able to meet and talk to the owner/chef who was wonderful--so genuinely nice! We loved the sangria, the pork empanada, and both of our entrees--oh, the sweet potato... More

We drove by this unassuming restaurant on our way to Fisherman's Wharf, where I had my heart set on some fabulous Argentinean food from the Tangito food truck. A sign in the window touting arepas (among other things) caught my attention because I love them, but I only had eyes for empanadas...So when the food truck was closed, my heart... More

Don't be put off by the low-key look of this place - an unprepossessing frontage and formica-topped tables aren't the best way to invite you in. But once in, you'll find it well worth it. We were a party of 5 and had 4 main dishes between us. Each was generous, and everyone was a taste treat. From risotto-style rice... More

We (2 very hungry families including two 14 yr old children) stumbled across this place just before their closing time (9.30pm) after an evening visit to Alcatraz. We entered and asked the waitress if we could still get served (there was only one other family in there who had just been served their meal) and we were very happily told... More

We live in North Beach, SF and decided to have lunch at Latin Grill Express after watching some of the practice runs by the boats running in the America's Cup races. LGE is located across from Ghirardelli Square and just enough away from the tourist trap restaurant area of Fisherman's Wharf, but close enough for tourists to check out if... More
